There rather similar.

We have a Lupin III episode with a Master of Disguise named Akechi Holmes running around, complete with Fujiko driving a tank through a Japanese district, and yet The Great Ace Attorney never made it out of Japan.

@ slim: Judging by (most of) her designs in the previous series, I'm willing to bet that the brown hair is actually Fujiko's natural hair color.

@ Lennik: I thought that was Spike Spencer, but I wasn't sure.

In all fairness, a chakra-related virus does sound like something that'd be common in the ninja world, but it's pretty clear the writers are grasping at whatever straws are within reach right now.

... Which only makes me wonder how ghastly the filler much later on will be.

Like that movie where's he chucked into a prison but has no idea hes supposed to be undercover.

I know this is filler, so I'm probably answering my own question here, but the use of sniper rifles to inject Naruto with a cure really makes you wonder why Konoha doesn't use them for warfare and missions.

I like to think this whole episode is just a fever dream Sakura is having while some kind of spy thriller is playing on TV. (They do have T Vs don't they?)

I usually skip Naruto on this block, but you gotta hand it to the producers that when they make a filler ep like this, they at least wanna make the cinematography look interesting.
