@ slim: Subtitling error because the subtitles were based on translations directly from the episode's written script, according to some folks over at Crunchyroll.
Apparently, the kanji for Kou's name (航) can also be read as "Wataru."

Well, Lupin had to mentally outmaneuver him in order to win. There's no way he could have survived a straightforward fight with Nyx; you saw the Matrix stuff he was doing last episode.

It just happened a bit too quickly.
Like the music turned on for awesomeness & then it turned off like 5 seconds later & half of it was people talking bout the encounter.
