Sometimes Visible Invisibility overlaps with Invisibility Flicker - in Ghost In The Shell, for instance. Also they're both tropes about cloaking fields.
"Did anybody invent this stuff on purpose?" - Phillip Marlowe on tequila, Finger Man by Raymond Chandler. No, they can't overlap. They can be present in the same work, but they are mutually exclusive.
Visible Invisibility is about representation of invisible things so that the audience can see the invisible thing, even though nothing in-universe can see it.
Badass Blink is about something loosing its invisibility in-universe.

I think when they turn on the Active Camo, it does a flicker.
Fight smart, not fair.Exactly.

(Belated disclaimer: This is half-joking. And yes, I do mean only half joking.)

An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Okay, so I'm thinking there's three things on the Ghost In The Shell example:
Invisibility Flicker: when being turned on and off, it flickers on and off with occasional visual static involved.
Visible Invisibility: most of the time when we're supposed to focus the invisible characters, they are shown with the outline/slight distortion field.
Sometimes, they'll do both when they get hit or something.
Fight smart, not fair.Calling crowner.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerPage moved. Can you move the discussion from Badass Blink to Invisibility Flicker? Also, the page itself will need a rewrite and wicks haven't been fixed yet.
Discussion moved.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerGoing through about 20 or so wicks. I'm also removing it from certain pages where it doesn't seem to be appropriate. I think this thread agreed that it's not actually a badass subtrope, for example, so it's now gone from there.
Badass Blink is listed on at least two of the translation effort pages. I don't really know what to do with those. They seem to be alternate version of the Badass page so I guess they should be deleted but...

You should bring it up in the Translation subforum. The translators can make the call there.

"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerThe description still needs to be rewritten to remove the silly references to badassery. I'll take a swing at it when I get the chance today.
"Did anybody invent this stuff on purpose?" - Phillip Marlowe on tequila, Finger Man by Raymond Chandler.Wicks finished. I also did a little cleanup. There was only one misuse that I saw for a blink that was supposed to be badass or something though there were several that seemed to think that this trope is anything that gives away invisibility.
Good job. Lock time?

"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerNo, we need to do the rewrite.
The trope has the requirement that the flicker is in universe even if nobody sees it. The most common form is when the invisible object gets hurt, is physically contacted in some way or launches an attack itself. In action sequences, this often happens just before the invisible object does something awesome.

Fight smart, not fair.I'd change this to The most common form is when the invisible object gets hurt, is physically contacted in some way or launches an attack itself. and otherwise call it good.
I like the new name a lot better. But, since we removed "badass" from the trope name, we should edit it out of the trope description. This trope is too much "badass"
I'm swapping Deboss' version in.
"Did anybody invent this stuff on purpose?" - Phillip Marlowe on tequila, Finger Man by Raymond Chandler.I touched up the description since I felt the other one was a little lacking and needed some spacing. Does it look good now? If so, the only other issue is a possible split but I'd really rather we dealt with that later. So I'd recommend calling this resolved.

Yes, your version is good. The added initial sentence is important, because it puts the focus on this trope rather than Visible Invisibility.
"Did anybody invent this stuff on purpose?" - Phillip Marlowe on tequila, Finger Man by Raymond Chandler.Well done. Locky lock time.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - Fighteer
Crown Description:
How are they related besides having to do with invisibility?
