Anti-used game features, huh? Honestly, what is with this industry's beef with used games?
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.Orbis? As in "world"? Eh, might as well start calling it the PS Quadruple...
Anyway, sounds interesting (the lack of backwards compatibility and restriction against used games, not so much), but I think I'll pass. Finally just got around to picking up a PS Triple PS3, after all.

"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadNo backwards compatibility with the PS 3 either.
Definitely not gonna buy the next PS if this turns out to be true.
"I'll show you fear, there is no hell, only darkness." My twitterIt supposedly takes away money from the developers, seeing as the resellers get all the cash off of used games. I say that's crap.
Also, I'm going to wait until this is confirmed to hype. Actually, I'm not gonna hype even if this is confirmed. We need moar backward compatibility, not less!

Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.- No BC.
- Insane DRM.
- Have to be online always to play anything.

Estimated shipping time: 2-4 weeks. The comments section for the article got a few laughs out of me. But seriously, while the lack of backwards compatibility is an expected detractor given the PS3, the whole "no used games" stance isn't going to do Sony any good.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadMakes me think of that "2D is dead" policy Sony used to have.
So, so much raging will be had.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.Hm, come to think of it, aren't there rumors of Microsoft's next console having anti-used game features as well?
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.I don't see the point in making a PS 4 yet. The PS 3's specs are pretty amazing or at the very least decent as it is, and it's still going strong, unless I'm mistaking. If this is true, I can definitely see the PS 3 doing like the PS 2 and outliving its' supposed lifespan.

PS (Novus) Orbis (Librarium), eh? I think I'll pass on this one, if it turns out to be true.
I doubt the anti-used features are true. If they are then I'll just buy a newer computer and pirate the games I would normally buy used.
Petty? Yes, but that's what you get for fucking with consumers. We are an unforgiving lot.
Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote? When was the last time someone released a system offering something new since (the DS or Wii). Maybe innovation is too much to ask for but even a little something like "more memory space" or "shorter load times" would go along way. So far, all I see is a graphics update and those got old eleven years ago, sales don't lie.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackThe point that everyone wants to have, yet isn't really worth anything in the grand scheme of things: Cold. Hard. Cash.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.I have two brothers. We don't share PSN accounts.
So my position on this is quite obvious. :x
That said, I'll wait for official announcements to come in. If we were to simply believe the rumors flying in, then remember that there was also a rumor that either Sony or Microsoft is backing out of the next generation. These rumors are finally starting to contradict each other, so it would be wise to not believe any of them.
I was forced to abandon my playstation ways after the PS 2 because I simply couldn't afford a PS 3 (FIVE HUNDRED AND NINETY-NINE US DOLLARS) but my heart remained with playstation for a long time. It was recently rekindled even further when I got my PS 1 emulator working and was able to play all those old games i played the first level of because I had a demo disc but could never find in stores because they're so obscure they don't even have wiki pages and I was perfectly prepared to return to the next playstation in all it's glory, without the paid online and annoying redrings of the 360 harlot I was forced to bed with.
But if the rumors of used-game restrictions are true, then I think I'll take a nostalgia trip even further backwards and get a Wii U. Or, hell, just play my PS 2 again. It's still good. Note that the next Xbox is rumored to have those anti-gamestop features too.

Bleye knows Sabers.Unless every console this coming generation had these anti-used game features, then I doubt any of them will. The ones who don't could easily make it a selling point that "uh, hey guys? Ours doesn't lock you out like theirs".
Not that I care. I never buy used anyway.
I agree. At the time, it's just a rumor, so there's no need to get worked up over it if we don't have all the facts.

"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadBut... Throwing enormous temper tantrums over the tiniest sliver of incomplete and unconfirmed information filtered through third-party sources is half the fun of being a gamer.
Bleye knows Sabers.Hm... some of my friends won't be happy with this if it turns out that the rumor's true...
Well, I'll take my "wait and see" stance on this rumor as usual.
Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!I'll wait until Sony themselves make the official announcement. Until then, it's just hearsay.
It's not that I don't put it past Sony do pull this bullshit, but rumors tend to be rather unreliable by design. Unless there is an unofficial confirmation, I refuse to rage.
Hell, I wouldn't rage even if turns out to be true. It just makes it unlikely that I'll get it.
People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.for note: PS 3 rumored have anti used system
just saying
Off topic: try to find sony bros rumor thread where is it

I half want the name "Orbis" to be real just for the inevitable onslaught of "Orbis Non Sufficit" jokes.
