Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. Thanks for linking that, rodney. I like both pages' pics as they are.
^^ Ah, so that was still pretty recent. (Bare UR Ls make horrible Courtesy Links though....)
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Horrible how? It is clickable and you can see the URL without hovering over the link. Could have put "Previous discussion:" before it, will do that in the future.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.^ Right. Just like how it's bad etiquette to state just [Trope Name] in a YKTTW that's duplicating it.
Anyway, Compensating for Something is "any large object as Freudian metaphor". Gun in My Pocket is specifically "Firearm as Freudian metaphor". And like I said, Codpiece is a better example of the latter. (And since this is supposed to be about in-universe examples, is he noted as such by other characters or is it just unfortunate* character design?)
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.He's shown in the comic to become Captain Codpiece only after finding out he's infertile... yeah.

Oppression anywhere is a threat to democracy everywhere.Clock is set.
Cock's up; blocking for inactivity/lack of consensus. No action is to be given based on this thread.
It's not a bad image for the Compensating for Something page, but Captain Codpiece would make an even better image for Gun in My Pocket (a related Sub-Trope).
Perhaps we could swap the image over and then find something non-gun related for CFS?
