One of the highlights (at least for me) is when he whips out his desperation move: he jumps in the air at the centre of the room and fires his rifle directly downward, propelling him into the air. He then launches waves upon waves of missiles at you, and the only way to stop them is to destroy them in mid-air.

Or you could just get both E-Tanks full and slash away at him.

^That assumes, of course, that you've been talented enough to have the E-Tanks and you can afford to take the hits, unlike me.

Anyway, for content's sake how about Ninetails and the Tails Clan, the bonus boss(es) of Command Mission? They're essentially all humanoid kitsune robot kung-fu masters. Their pre-battle quotes (Ninetails getting a unique one) help to get you into the mood, and his battle theme ("Certain Victory, Ninetails!" for anyone curious) is wonderful. Most of the Tails have a special gimmick (such as the fact that Seventails requires you to beat him within three turns or he heals all his health and gets a massive boost to all his stats), and although certain attacks such as Annihilator Hadoken (does 60% of the characters' current health as damage) and Nine Fragments (Ninetails only; hits nine times for 999 damage) are endlessly frustrating sometimes they take pity on you and cast Regeneration (?) which revives a party member with 25% (?) LE.

Watching as you steadily plow through the Tails Clan and seeing the number of tails on their bodies steadily grow is quite rewarding, and there's ample reward for winning each fight. When Ninetails is finally slain, your reward is the Red Lotus Saber (?) and Ancient Gun for Zero and Axl respectively.

However, it's strongly recommended that you level up a tonne before you even take on Onetail, and it's usually a good idea to get the Ultimate Armour and Absolute Zero Hyper Modes before setting off. Still, it's worth it!

[up]There's one in Lunaedge's level that's easily accessible with a little backtracking, and there's another in Mandrago's level that is really easy to find.

Getting them full is tricky, though.

Omega Supreme from the Decepticon campaign in Transformers: War for Cybertron. The whole boss fight takes up two freaking levels, one where you're desperately trying to escape him as he pursues you around the city in his flight mode, and the second fight is against his robot mode at the bottom of a giant crater.

And then there's Trypticon... the revelation that Trypticon's transformation mode happens to be THE ENTIRE FREAKING ORBITAL CANNON that the fourth level takes place on is absurd, as well as the following fight against him on the surface of Cybertron as Optimus.

The only transformer shown to be even bigger (at least in videogames) was Tidal Wave from the Transformers game for the PS 2. This bot in particular turned into a flying aircraft carrier - no, not a human one, but one designed for cybertronian aircraft.

There's every fight with Bowser in the old Mario games, especially Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario World, pretty much every boss from Ocarina Of Time, Majoras Mask, Nightmare from Metroid Fusion, Sonic vs. Shadow and Final Hazard in Sonic Adventure 2, and one of my fondest memories of last gen was the battle with the Hydra in God of War.

Good times~
