Spirit, I'm not entirely sure I'm comfotable with you acting in this manner. It seems extreme.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Well fuck man, sorry. Jeez.
...Spirit, calm the hell down! What the frick is wrong with you? He just says something, and you flip out like that Volus who bumped into a Quarian!
It's kind of funny. Sufficiently advanced stupidity is like sufficiently advanced science; eventually, you find something you can't solve. In other news, I am slightly bothered that we never see turians using turian weapons, or krogan using krogan weapons. Everyone in the entire universe uses the Avenger.
...Well marauders use phaestons, and I think I saw an asari using a disciple on Thessia. And a krogan with a claymore. But yeah almost everyone uses avengers. Which species came up with the avenger again?
In another thought I always wondered why cannibals were batarian/human hybrids. A little thinking and I realized that it's likely that they were batarians who when huskified ate their human slaves entirely.

#IceBearForPresidentThat's what's weird; turian husks use turian weapons but actual turians use Avengers.
Elkoss Combine produces the Avenger, so it makes a little sense that turians would be using it, but still, the Phaeston is supposed to be the standard issue firearm according to its description.

...The other annoying thing is that the turians, despite having equal military rights/duty for both men and women, you only ever meet male turians. :/
Unless they not only look but actually *sound* identical, then I'm pretty sure that's highly stupid. And yes, I saw the video where they said how 'wut ya gonna do, put boobs and lipstick? lol' and I promptly slapped my forehead.
Be creative, it's not that hard.
Honestly, that did really annoy me about ME 3.
They had 1-2 female salarians and quite a few female krogan (albeit only one that's even important) Why not turians?
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."I find the weapon proliferation to be not much weirder than a bunch of countries using AK-47s because they're relatively cheap and easy to maintain.
Also I like what that one comic did with female turians in just shortening the fringe.
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterIt's fun learning about the Vietnam War, and finding out the M16 — that iconic weapon — was actually a piece of shit compared to the AK-47.
It's not over. Not yet.Only the early models, and mostly because no one issued cleaning kits.
I wouldn't be bothered by everyone using Avengers if the codex didn't clearly say that species use their own weapons. The Phaeston for example is supposed to be standard issue. What's the point of giving each species their own set of weapons and distinct styles if you're just gonna get lazy and give everyone in the entire universe (even those who shouldn't be using assault rifles) Avengers?
...Who shouldn't be using assault rifles? The turians on Menae using Avengers is easily explained by fanwank. Perhaps the Reapers overtook a weapons stockpile and since the Avenger is the most common rifle, they defaulted to using what was available.
I was talking about the main characters specifically. Everyone uses Avengers even if they don't have training or are just equipped with another gun.
Fanwank aside, it's just a little thing that bugs me, especially when the turian team on Tuchanka also uses Avengers. The only turians who actually use Phaestons are the husks.
...Liara's the only character in the whole series who I can see not being trained with assault rifles. Almost all the others are military in some form (even Tali clearly received military training, which makes sense, given the quarians are technically led by the military). Jack's not military, but she's spent a long time fighting, so she's obviously going to know how to use a wide variety of guns. Even Liara knows how to take care of herself in a fight, so it's not unreasonable to assume she's done at least some practice with assault rifles, especially since she first met Shepard.
So, basically, there's not a single squad member you pick up who shouldn't know how to use an assault rifle at least moderately well. They may have other guns they prefer to use - pistols and shotguns, in particular - but they would still know how to use them.
And since your squadmates are serving on a human vessel, it's also reasonable for them to be using human equipment. Easier maintenance, if nothing else - spare pieces are right there, no need to order replacement pieces for one Phaeston when you can probably get a bulk order on Avenger pieces.
Now, as for why they whip out assault rifles in cut scenes when they don't carry assault rifles with them, I suppose chalk it up to a bit of Gameplay and Story Segregation. Aliens using Avengers is likely design laziness. For my part, I don't even notice the difference. Show me a picture of the two guns side-by-side, I'll be able to tell the main differences. Show me just one of them, I'll have no clue which it is.

...Omega DLC to be released on November 27 for $15/1200 MS Points. European PS3 players will probably have to wait for the 28th though. I've heard conflicting information about this being a timed exclusive for the 360. The higher price is because it's apparently twice the size of Leviathan. Features:
- Aria as a party member (not clear whether permanent or just for the DLC)
- Female turian
- New enemies
- Petrovsky, the villain from the Invasion comics, returns.

New enemies as in multiplayer enemies being added to single player, or new enemies as in new enemies? And how many types of new enemies?
...Gamble didn't specify. Speculation is that at the very least, we'll be seeing Cerberus Dragoons.
Reading that article. It still bugs me when they refer to Leviathan as the biggest Mass Effect 3 DLC, game content wise, when Retaliation kicks its ass. Then curb stomps it into the street, sets it on fire, shoots it five times, and throws it off a cliff.
...Retaliation is multiplayer.
Re: Omega
My only gripe is that it's coming out so far away
Otherwise at everything else!
Though, I wonder how much more SP DLC we'll get. We're running out of time after all.
Stand Fast, Stand Strong, Stand TogetherIt didn't say "double the size of the largest single player DLC", just "double the size of the largest DLC".
I think Bioware is shooting itself in the foot by making the free multiplayer DLC so much better gameplay-wise than the paid and overpriced single player DLC.
