Does seem like the exclamation point should go. And I don't know what the hyphens are for.
I'm fine with that.
I've seen this one a million times, and I've rarely ever seen anyone yell the no. I agree, the exclamation marks should be moved.
I swear to God there used to be a really witty sig here.I concur, no exclamation point.
Concur. Even the page image has the loud laugh followed by the flat "no." Usually this is accompanied by a blank expression.
"Did anybody invent this stuff on purpose?" - Phillip Marlowe on tequila, Finger Man by Raymond Chandler.Seems like we're all in agreement, then.
Here's the question: should it have the exclamation point after the "Ha Ha Ha"? " I guess "Ha Ha Ha! No." looks nice.
I'd be fine with that.
I swear to God there used to be a really witty sig here.Depends on the connotation.
The laughter can be "sincere" (Ha Ha Ha! No.) or the laughter itself can be flat as well (Ha Ha Ha No.)
Either one works, I suppose.
I guess we could just keep it simple and go with "Ha Ha Ha No" then. It doesn't need to be any clearer than that.

Yes.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!I actually think it would be better if it was Ha Ha Ha...No. But I dunno if we can italicize titles...
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI honestly think this would be best without punctuation. "Ha Ha Ha No" is my top choice.
Is there any way we can get a crowner for this kind of thing? Or if we all come to an agreement, can a mod just fix it?
Done. I stripped the formatting. You can go from here. Italics are not allowed.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI'd say "Ha-ha-ha! No."
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.An advantage of having some punctuation is that it would make the lack of punctuation on the "no" apparently intentional. (e.g. Given "Ha Ha Ha! No" versus "Ha Ha Ha No", not having an exclamation mark on the end is more obviously deliberate in the case of the former.)
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. Is this even a trope? It looks like a Stock Phrase to me.
It's a trope. You don't need to say the phrase. Just laugh in any way you want, and then cut off and tell them off.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.Clocking due to lack of activity. Is there anything left to do here?

Locking.

The title is...blegh.
Before we got punctuated titles, it was "Ha Ha Ha No". That got the gist of the trope, that it's a general laugh followed by a flat "No." Now, however, it's punctuated as "Ha-Ha-Ha... No!", which implies that the "No" is enthusiastic, which is not the case here. It's supposed to be a firm, flat "No."
So I suggest renaming it to either "Ha Ha Ha! No.", or "Ha Ha Ha...No.", or something along those lines.
