The game is simple find too examples of media that have a significant amount in common, but that fans of one would find the other annoying at best and repulsive at worst.

Example

These two both have

  • A security worker who works for a company that make cybernetics tries to stop a super villain only to end up with horrific injures and is rebuilt as a cybrog.
  • The is a period of adjustment were he can't properly control his mechanical parts, he feels angst about this.
  • His girlfriend is involved in making him a cyborg though her research, at some point she is in peril
  • The bad guy who caused the damage is also a cyborg, he must be defeated to get his girl friend back
  • The main character must fight another cyborg with similar abilities to him.
  • A bad guy is trying to gain control over the cybernetics technology for their own ends.

They are

Deus Ex Human Revolution and Inspector Gadget

I may need to tweak the format of this but what does everyone think?

Doesn't this belong in the Forum Games subfora, since you stated that it's a game?

Let me give this a try;

  • Both have a fanbase of twenty-somethings who would most likely have grown up with another show from the same creator.
  • The main characters of both shows are sent elsewhere on the eve of a celebration, where they meet the rest of the cast.
  • Both characters are also quite lonely and unfulfilled until this happens.
  • Both shows are used in popular memes regarding merchandise.
  • The main character has an unusual talet which lead to them being selected by the one who sent them elsewhere.
  • Their relatives aren't mentioned or shown until later episodes.

  • There are three female main characters.
  • Each group has a Monster of the Week they must defeat.
  • Both groups have fought Kaiju at some point.
  • Both groups have fought enemies on a scale that is not human.
  • In both trios, there is a brave and intelligent one, a shy and sweet one, and a cocky and violent one.
