May I suggest that a colage of the more well-known stick figure comics may work? Order Of The Stick, xkcd, Cyanide And Happiness, Stickman And Cube. Those four in that order pretty well demonstrate the descending levels of detail that a stick-figure comic can have.

I'd rather have just the OOTS image, on the main page at least – the lampshading is priceless. If someone wants to make a collage, it could go on Image Links.

I've already voted for the OotS image, and I'm not changing that vote at the moment, but I may as well throw in a collage. My problem with this collage in its current form is that one might think all the characters were from teh same comic.
I vote for the OOTS image, precisely because it's lampshading its own art style. I think that's better than a collage.
