This is probably going to sound crazy, but Dragonforce does not deserve all the hate it gets. The band's music isn't meant to be taken seriously, and its entire point is to be as over-the-top as possible. Heck, not even the band members take it seriously.

Yeah, August 2010* was such a long time ago. Pop music sure has turned on its head since then. Those damn kids bothering your lawn again, eh?

No wonder your avatar is a cat, 8-)
I like Linkin Park as well. I have their two best songs, in my opinion anyway, "Numb" and "Papercut" as mp3s.
edit: has anyone done a thread yet stating what music they want played at funerals yet?

I definitely recall one, but IIRC it was in Yack Fest....
The 5 geek social fallacies. Know them well. Most stuff by Teen Idols (i.e. Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, etc.) I think they're really just So Okay, It's Average. It's not the best music ever, but the way people go on you would think it makes people's ears bleed.
Those damn kids bothering your lawn again, eh?
I'm 16, time moves slowly. One and a half years is a long time ago for me.
If you don't like a single Frank Ocean song, you have no soul.every time someone uses this as a defense, I want to crap on their heads
You can't even write racist abuse in excrement on somebody's car without the politically correct brigade jumping down your throat! What does that mean, anyway?
no one will notice that I changed thisPower Metal is at least in my opinion all about trying be as over the top as possible. And most of the times it's glorious.
Also known as Achillesforever6 of Lordkat.com fameAs I've said, Power Metal is like pizza: even if it's bad, i's still kinda good.
The 5 geek social fallacies. Know them well.Thrash Metal and Stoner Metal are like that for me.
no one will notice that I changed thisHonestly, the problem with Dragonforce isn't that thy are overtop, it that they wrote one or two songs and repeat them over and over again.
Which is the same reason Nickelback gets so much hate.
Boring, but not nearly as annoying as people make it out to be.
No regret shall pass over the threshold!Blunt always struck me as trying to sound like a poor man's Rod Stewart, and considering I don't like Rod Stewart's voice...
Somehow you know that the time is right. In all honesty, I only hear this when "You're Beautiful" comes on (if it comes on at all anymore):
But yeah, it's like many hated songs, not reprehensible (...maybe the goofy falsetto is), just somewhat meh and fairly inoffensive.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. That's where hated music comes from really. A song notable only for its mediocrity becomes over-exposed, and people get pissed. The important thing is the over-exposure.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes. Thanks, nameless. Found that thread.
Hmm, James Blunt is overhated. "Beatiful" is a better song than most of the sheer utter crap that gets out under the aegis of that bastard Simon Cowell. And the man is a fricking war hero. Been there, seen it, done it, and wears the t-shirt. I wouldn't want every song on the radio to be done by Blunt. Variety is good. But at least he isn't part of the corporate cancer that that Cowell creature proliferates. Then again, that is my opinion.
In my case, since I used to hear the song a lot, but never saw the video while it was still popular, I saw the imbed of the video to the original and thought of Bad Lip Reading's (sadly taken down) "Beard With Glue".

Earth is the only planet inhabitable by Nicolas Cage.By a bizarre coincidence, part of "You're Beautiful" just played on NPR a few minutes ago...
Somehow you know that the time is right.Insane Clown Posse, sure "Miracles" is stupid and they have a LOT of Fan Dumb, but their music is also clever with an impressive ability to alternate between funny ("Fuck The World", "What Is A A Juggalo?", "My First date", "In Yo Face"), dramatic ("Halls OF Illusion, "I Found A Body", "Truth Or Dare") and Heartwarming ("Pass Me By", "Homies", "The Mum Song").
Also JustinBieber's music is So Okay, It's Average.

The smartest idiot you will ever meet.Justin Bieber is definitely a case of overhating.
I would have probably never heard of this person if it wasn't for the massive amounts of hate that gets to every different music sub-group with comments like: This is so much better than Bieber. If it wasn't for all of that I could live my life in blissful ignorance as I do with most of today's pop music.
Even when I did hear his music though, I saw no reason for that much hate, it didn't strike me at all as anything worse by an order of magnitude than almost any other pop music geared towards a younger audience.
'It's gonna rain!'Rebecca Black is overhated. Sure, her music is pretty bad, but does a 13-year-old girl really deserve death threats?
Rule of thumb: If it's popular among teenage girls, it's cool to hate it.
