I don't get the wrist image.

S/he's marking the hand to cut it up. That is a notable suicide technique.

I'm fine with no pic, but if the consensus is for the wrist shot, I'm fine with it; it's certainly better than the current.

Those are supposed to be stitches? All I could see was a hand that someone had drawn on with a pen. I never would have guessed "person dressing the corpse of a man who slit his wrist."

I guess I'm just not familiar with the "3 parallel lines down the wrist" suicide method.

Nada, I wasn't joking. I think I heard about a suicide method that involves cutting the wrists, but it was probably brain-hearsay...

I didn't know that; for some reason, I'd assumed it was a botched attempt, which made it easier for me to work on. With the fact that he's dead in mind, I'd really rather not have that image on the page since it seems (to me at least) to be more triggering. Feeling/thinking those thoughts is pretty foul, and I can't think of another place on here where we have a comparable image.

Also, I support pulling the current picture on grounds of quality.

Wait, dressing up the corpse? I didn't get that from the image.

I thought it was someone drawing on their wrists to mark where they would cut.

I thought it was generic doodling myself.

There seems to be little support for the wrist image – either it doesn't look enough like cuts, or it looks too much like cuts. Anyone else want to chime in?

The Hudsucker Proxy starts with a suicide. Could the caption say "starts" somehow? [1]◊

edit: Also believe it or not the image on that page is kind of a spoiler :P "What the hell is he talking about?!" is a running gag for most of the movie.

If we're going to keep the current image, we should at least get one of better quality. The present version is just awful. It's like I'm taking a vision test.

To be honest, I think the image suits the trope, but I really feel very squicked by it. Does this page really need an image?
