I'm with that. They're at least an example, and a rather well-known at that.

Images aren't meant to be just an example that's above the example line, though. Never having heard of the couple, there is no way that I can tell they are a Beta Couple rather than the main one, or even just friends. I think we need an image that shows the Alpha Couple as well, with an indication of which is wich.

For the record, I used Paint to put in the letters since that's the only editing program I had available at the time...if someone wants to do the same with Photoshop, go for it.

Huh, I thought the trope was somewhat more complex than that. Upon rereading the article, it seems the trope is just, "The secondary couple." The suggestion works.

That suggestion works. I don't think it's strictly necessary to add the letters, as it's possible to determine main character status based on design, but it still helps.

I like the idea, but I think we should add some interesting test bellow the image to make it work.

Something like:

The first suggestion is alright, but I think using the alpha and beta letters does the same with less. The second doesn't work; canonically Betty and Wilma are the same height IIRC.

Good enough for consensus. The pic is up and tagged; locking up.
The image is just Barney and Betty standing side by side. There is no indication that they are suppose to be Beta Couple to the main couple.
