I think The Glitch FAQ is interesting not because it clarifies stuff, but because it suggests like a billion other stories hat come from the busted game mechanics. That and the idea of a guy doomed to forever be Quantum Leaping between sessions to save them is pretty sad yet awesome.

Also I assume the spelling errors are on purpose in this fix. Guys said himself that his Brainitude is sup-par.

It's cool how the Glitch FAQ inspired people to start spontaneously roleplaying in the comments on Ao3.

Update to the Sburb Glitch FAQ. smile

Also, the special guest chapter for Mind is linked there. smile

'Twas my first session, and I got played for a chump by a veteran gamebreaker who had planned to trigger [Endless Climb] as fast as possible so as to interrogate me about what I saw so we could, apparently, "save time and heartbreak". His words, not mine. The chance of my killing someone was apparently acceptable if it got him out of my session faster.

What a lot of good that did me.

The girl was bribed by him into getting me roped into a philosophical discussion. As far as I know she was innocent. Delicate, too. Witch of Sight, to be precise.

To pile insult onto injury, the guy doing the manipulation was the Space player, so I couldn't kill him! Tried. Got smacked silly by the Heir of Time as a result.

Sorry. It's possible my experience with Light players is peculiar to Thieves, Bards, and Rogues, which would explain a lot. Possibly I should ask around about that.

-From the comments section for that guest chapter, written by the author for it.

Just read the latest update to Sburb Glitch FAQ and just... wow. I love that the author's trying to break down everything into something believable as a video game, but that last section... Fridge Horror anyone?

You mean the Others section?

I tried transcribing some of the text without the silly warping, but most of it doesn't make much sense. Either that or I'm missing shit.

[Question: What the hell are these things?]

They are zallalaragphrulflorluflorrlaghshlonom. Also called Speakers of the void Horrorterr tentacuddies or Squiddle, they are Ghroogfibthmurbrupbrup Haughauhthrl Shggthrol Goorsfnnnyuldhotha

[Question: Why do they... Derse dreamers when fygin their sleep fibthhulazyfgh nightmare?]

Has anybody else seen the SBURB Cooking Guide? I find this Recursive Fanfic and actual functional recipe book incredibly amusing for whatever reason.

You're never too late to post your stories, mate. C:

Also, Sburb Glitch FAQ is a massive tease: every time the author gets to the most interesting sections, that big -OFFLINE- button cockblocks us. I really hope some of that information (especially the stuff on the Horrorterrors and 'saccharine dopplegangers' gets filled in eventually.

[up] Noodle Incident, man.

I kinda want him to go back and fill in some of the info on the older pages, though. It's like the fanfiction is covered in potholes.

Give the guy a break. I'm sure he has a life, and this is still a pretty amazing piece of work. Maybe he'll complete it, maybe he won't, but its still awesome.

There's no harm in wishing, though! I really really want to hear about those ascension mechanics. I've been crossing my fingers at every update hoping that they'll cover ascension. lol

This is a great "story" *

and even if ascension is never covered I'll still be very glad that this was made! grin

Hey, this is lucidChthonia. The Glitch FAQ expanded universe thing has an IRC now - it's #replayvalue on irc.skaia.net.

Also, just to round out the set of links:

Both of 'em are "sburb.org" "forum" "threads".

Well given the recent update on Brainbent I've gone and uploaded my submission to my AO 3. Due to the content in it I can't link it as that would break the explicit sexual content link rule thingy thing. I suppose that speaking about it is fine and good though. I don't recall a rule on that...If there is then...Just thump this and I'll be sure not to again.

So yeah. New piece. Well old in terms of when it was written but new in terms of it being open to look at. It's called Yes and can be found on AO 3. I'm hyper creative with usernames so I'm Aondeug there as well as everywhere else.

I have about 3 on right now but my cousin is writing the last and I upload it for him.

I think with the explicit sexual content rule, we are not not allowed to talk about or link to about 90% of the Homestuck stories on AO3. [lol]

To be fair, most of it doesn't merit discussion anyway. Although certain stories might be worth pushing through the rampant sex, just to get to the message. There was one I mentioned earlier where the story was filled to the gills with first-person smut, and disturbing rape-y smut on top of that. And then when you get to the end, the rape victim literally calls out the viewpoint protagonist on his shit, shows how he was a complete and utter idiot, deconstructs the whole genre and then lops his head off. It was beautiful.
