Magic is most evident in Africa and America. The school is just called Magic Academy as far as I know. Magic can be used in any way it would fit the situation, ie: Spraying water in a lock, then freezing the lock to make the water expand and bust the lock. Alright, let's see here...

Name: Kennedy Traylor

Age: 17

Magic of Choice: Aeromancy

Paint Color: Cloudy gray

Personality: Friendly and open. Despises lying and is thus very sincere. Loves reading, specifically fantasy, and music. Smart, but somewhat provincial.

Bio: Born in the midwest U.S., Kennedy came into his magic a few months ago, much to his enjoyment. He moved to New York to join the magic academy to make his place in the world working with what he loves.

Appearence: A somewhat tall lad of slightly wider build, Kennedy has brown hair that's never combed (not much point with wind magic) and blue eyes. He doesn't care much for fashion, simply wearing what's comfortable leaning towards cargo shorts and a t-shirt commonly.

I think magic is hereditary. Considering you're age, you were probably born post M-Day, meaning your have had it from birth. Maybe change it to "only learned to control magic recently"?

No, I believe the premise was that although magic is hereditary, it manifests later in life, around the ages specified above.

• Name: Jack Lancer
• Age: 16
• Magic of Choice: Weapon Summoning (variant)
• Color: Brown-Black
• Personality: A product of his surroundings, John always walks with an air of weariness. He tends to over-analyze even the friendliest of gestures, though he's by no means incapable of interacting with others. Self-dependance and pragmatism are sacred ideals to him.
• Backstory: Jack's father, having acquired the ability to generate weapons own body on M-Day, had fled far into Appalachian wilderness with his mother, fearing that the war in Europe would spread at any moment. It's here that Jack was born, though the lack of medical aid caused his mother to die during child-birth. His father resented him for this, abusing and berating him at the slightest misstep. There were times that Jack had no other option than to flee into the wilderness until his father had calmed down. It was during one of these 'sabbaticals' that he discovered his own ability to make weapons. Though what he created differed vastly from the power set that his father had. While his father could summon etherial blades, clubs, bows, and the like, Jack could summon any sort of trap or obstacle that he could imagine. It wasn't a full two months of honing this ability of before Jack's father came looking for him. He hadn't cooled down in the slightest, his eyes that of a man looking for blood. It was more than clear how this bout was going to end, for both Jack's father and Jack. The mad brute didn't make within twenty yards of Jack once he'd found him, careening right into massive pit with only a few hungry wolves to keep him company. Jack left the wilderness afterwards, making a beeline towards the academy the moment he'd heard of it.
• Appearance: Dark brown skin, with short, curly black hair and the beginnings of a beard. Usually wearing an earthen colored windbreaker, along with a rough pair of jeans, and work boots.

So, with the upcoming time skip, I think it's high time to actually write up a sign-up for Jenna, Nathan's sister. So, without further ado:

• Name: Jenna Reid
• Age: 14
• Magic of Choice: Her magic is pretty weak, due to its early development. She does have a decent grasp of Cryomancy, like the rest of her family, but using magic leaves her exhausted more often than not. Because of this, she prefers to use magical weapons, which only cause exhaustion when she first creates them.
• Paint Colour: A muted red
• Personality: Jenna spent 14 years effectively trapped in a bunker with only three people. Unlike the rest of the family this affected her a bit. Jenna is just the slightest bit unstable. She gets really angry over tiny things, leading to disproportionate revenge. She has pretty much no concept of loyalty, and will usually side with however can get her out of whatever problem she has. She is very cocky of her abilities. She does have a soft spot for Nathan though.
• Bio: Her Mother and Father where two Scientists in the Antarctic on M-Day, and both became talented Cryomancers. They remained in the bunker where they were stationed and had her brother, Nathan, and one year later had her, but had to leave after a while, due to a lack of food. They headed to New York, where they quickly enrolled Nathan in the Magic Academy there, choosing to enroll Jenna in a public school, as her magic hadn't developed yet. While there, she was bullied for her families magic. She was bullied constantly for the two weeks she was in the school, and eventually, the constnat despair and anger caused her magic to develop. Instead of just using one of the normal methods to deal with bullying, Jenna went a tad overboard, placing a small fire enchantment on each of the bullies pens. Being the only Mage in the family, she was quickly found out and expelled. Her parents, with no other option left, sent her to magic academy, unaware of the murderers, deranged clowns and evil magicians present there.
• Appearance: Jenna has short brown hair, that stops at the neck. She has green eyes, like her brother. She wears a red shirt that folds up and stops at elbows length on the arms. She wears knee length denim shorts, which are above black tights. There are bracers on the trousers, which she has wrapped around her shoulders as well, like braces are usually used for.
• Wand: She doesn't have a wand per say, as she mostly uses magical weapons. However, she does have an enchanted screwdriver, which is enchanted to allow her to make much more precise motions. As for main magical weapon she has two. Both are handguns. One is enchanted with fire and the other with ice. She likes to use them to go Guns Akimbo. They need to be refuelled often, so they aren't great to use for long fights.

So, that's that. Yeah, I put more thought into Jenna then Nathan. Also, I cleaned up Nathan's sign-up a bit, and removed a few things that contradict with things I posted.

(Had this character idea for a while, getting my computer back and it being the new year seemed like a good time to post him).

• Name: McKenzie 'Ken' Sarling
• Age: 18
• Magic of Choice: Agrokinesis
• Paint Color: Moss green
• Personality: Sarcastic and quick to speak his mind, but overall a nice guy (though depending on how willing he is to trust a person it can take a while for him to act like one). Is blindingly loyal to a fault, and refuses to see the bad in people he sides with. He's also fiercely secretive when it comes to his real identity, and any inquiries into it will be met with lashing out.
• Bio: After the war broke out throughout Europe, the majority of Scots either immigrated to the States or secluded themselves in the Highlands. Ken was born into one of the major highland communities, during a time when civil unrest had led to a divide between the citizens. As such he grew up with a deep sense of loyalty, an infantile black-and-white morality, and learned from a young age how to survive in both formal battles and in street brawls. His ability to cultivate plant life was essential to his side's survival, and thus his magic was cultivated from a young age and gained him a spot in the academy once he was old enough. The recent eruption of the Katla volcano in Iceland led to him being grounded in Scotland due to volcanic ashes, which is why he arrived at the school later than most students. He was born female, though there are very few people who are aware of that fact and he goes to great lengths to hide the fact.
• Appearance: Short dark brown hair and blue eyes. He's shorter than most. His features are disarmingly young and almost feminine, which helps when lulling people into a sense of security. He has a blotchy white scar on his left shoulder where he was stabbed (which would've been a clean line except the removal of the blade's tip was messy). He tends towards layers of undershirts and thick jumpers because of how cold his homeland has become over the years.

Transsexual; he still thinks he's a bit too young to go in for actual surgery, but he wants it in later life.

Personality: Somewhat sarcastic and humorous, he is very likely to dislike anybody who is not a close friend. Also, he despises being honest and will usually form large (flimsy) webs of lies.

Bio: Born in London, Steven was abandoned by his parents early in his life. He was adopted by his aunt Samantha to live with her until she grew old; she died and Steven was forced to be alone and paranoid.

Appearance: He is tall with pale skin and black hair; he has brown eyes and wears a grey t-shirt and light grey sweatpants.
