Well i remember hearing somewhere that one of the inspirations for ME was Final Fantasy The Spirits Within...

Ermmm how? Beyond the generic sci fi stuff I'm struggling to see any similarities between the 2. ME 1 had a very deliberate 80s scifi vibe. Spirits Within is completely different.

...Well, let's see... if they did ever decide to combine the gameplay of the two, it might play out something like Shephard and crew being able to summon Guardian Forces to fight alongside them, Liara becoming even more of a caster with even weirder and fancier spells, all technology running on magic-tech instead of Eezo, and everybody wearing belts needlessly wearing a large amount of belts which serve no practical purpose. Yeah, something like that.
