Horseback Heroism and White Stallion both show the same painting of Napoleon Bonaparte on a White Stallion. The only real difference is the quality of the image.

I think we need to decide:

  1. Which trope should have the Napoleon picture
  2. Which version we like better.
  3. What to put on the trope page that we pull Napoleon from.

Hmm first thought is to do a pic of The Ride of the Rohirrim in Lord Of The Rings for Horseback Heroism or something like [1]

Or Shadowfax for White Stallion [2][3][4]

Now that I think about it some more, having a non-white stallion for Horse Back Heroism would probably be a good idea.

That does sound like good idea. I tried searching for a good pic, but didn't find any I liked. Statues and toys are two potential sources that are less medium-specific.

The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.

Well, it can't be that first Aragorn pic, because that's in use on The Leader.

Zorro is a great example. [1] [2]

Didn't find as many good pictures as I hope, though.

[up][up] I was thinking of Zorro as well. Also, that second link is a webpage for a statue.

Zoro would work, but maybe a picture of him rescuing someone while on horseback?

I'm still trying to find a picture of a horseback rescue, but in the meantime:

We want the blowing cloak, too.

Here's a suggestion: Let's move the one from Rearing Horse to Horseback Heroism, and put this one or this one, of the Lone Ranger, on Rearing Horse

[up] I like either of those...leaning toward the first. Not where I can look at the others right now.

There's also this comic book cover, of what I assume is a Lone Ranger Expy. (Sue Denim probably knows whether it is or not.)

If anyone wants to look for a new picture for White Stallion instead, we also have the option of keeping the picture on Horse Back Heroism but changing it to a different version of the painting (there are many).

edit: This is now on Horse Back Heroism, so we can either pick a new image for White Stallion, or this, or both.

No, no, no, I hate that recolored Napoleon painting.

It isn't recolored. There were several different versions painted. Do you like this one more? Or this one?

Hmmmm...interesting, I didn't know there were multiple versions of that painting, the one that's the dupe image is the one that I've always seen. I prefer the B/W horse in [up], the whole thing's not as dark as the brown horse.

Napoleon wasn't exactly the good guy...

EDITED IN: To be fair, interpretations of that depend on one's priorities, but that's all the more reason to go for an in-universe example, who is clearly portrayed as the good guy.

But that painting was designed to portray him as one, so it is an in-universe example.

Edit: A put a different version up. How about we just do a crowner with all the pics for both pages, including the current ones, and just use whichever 2 get picked? (assuming they aren't the same picture)

I like 2 a lot for some reason. Maybe it's the "about to go out and lay the smack down on the forces of evil" look. 3 is good too, not a fan of 1.

Fight smart, not fair.

[up] Of the Zelda ones I found, my own favourite is the third, but I'm not sure of its exact context and in turn not sure how to get a higher-quality version.

I couldn't find a better version of that one, but I found something close.
