The problem with those is, again, neither of them are actually shown talking. They're just looking at reflections, and the caption is the only thing indicating any sort of conversation.

Yeah people usually hold up newspapers for their reflection to see. I think that is way more communicative than an open mouth.

Either of the two most recent suggestions could work.

[up] I disagree. The latter of the most recent two could work, given rodney's point about showing yourself a newspaper in the mirror. However, Hyde's image in the mirror is so distorted in the Jekyl image, and doesn't really look like the man looking at said mirror, that it doesn't really work for me. Looks more like he's talking to some mirror-inhabiting demon. At least with Twliight and Osborne, you can tell they're talking to "themselves".

The pony just looks like she is gazing at her reflection in a puddle.

I like the Osborn pic...the Jekyll/Hyde pic feels like another trope that we had a thread about recently.

I like the Osborn pic. I got the newspaper point that Rodney is going for immediately, and the caption won't hurt it or make it JAFAAC.

Yeah, as much as I don't really wanna see the Pony pic go, Osborne's the clear winner here.

The Osborne picture works for me; the pony picture doesn't convey to me that she's talking, while the Hyde picture looks more to me like someone talking to a separate entity. Osborne looks quite clearly to me as though he's communicating with his reflection.

Osborn image is best.

I don't like the pony-demon pic on the grounds that it doesn't look like the trope at all, just like she's looking at her own reflection. Neither of the single-frames look like her mouth is open to talk, maybe to kiss or something. The multi-frame image is just confusing.

So I'm not just rejecting them because they're pony-demons, this time.

A couple more votes for the Osborn pic and we can run with it.

What about two frames of Osborn? One of the "evil" one in the mirror, and then one of the "timid" one talking to his reflection?

Rearranged Twilight a bit.
Very detailed in terms of showing the trope, while being of modest size. Or even smaller.

How is that more detailed? It looks like it could be three different frames from completely different scenes. There's nothing that suggests talking, there. Also if you're not familiar with the show, how do you know she's not just a regular, non-talking cartoon pony instead of an evil pony-demon who has the infernal power of speech?

Bench and puddle are entirely recognisable between the frames.

To you, maybe. But you watch the show. I don't. It looks like she's swimming in water, not talking out of a puddle.

You must put Osborn up (because if we count "crazy guy with newspaper" support as the same thing, we have the 2 more necessary counting this post. This is a support, of course.)

^Nope. There is no consensus yet. The newspaper guy may very well be just posing.

Look at Willbyr's post. Note the number of votes for the Osborn image made since that post.

You know, "pony-demon" style show/fandom bashing comments makes me want to support the pony pic even more, and I'm not even a fan of the series. I'd wish that people could resist the urge to make cheep shots at fandoms and shows they don't like at every opportunity.

How about a crowner vote?

Martello, valid points are more convincing when not accompanied by distracting ad hominem.

Right now I see an argument between pictures of people looking at reflection. To me, without seeing any words at all, one picture of a person looking at a reflection is as good as any other.

There are two images of a character looking at a reflection. In context, they are each having a conversation with their reflection. But only one of them looks like that. The other looks like an open-mouthed cartoon pony.
