Picture for each media page?: There Is No Kill Like Overkill

This is not about the last thread. The page is over 400,000 characters, which means a page split is in order.

So either we keep that picture on the main page, or we move it to the ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill/ComicBooks page and find pictures for the other pages.

Move it to comicbooks. Is the old one still around, I think there were suggestions in there.

It wasn't a very good discussion. Basically somebody suggested a pony-demon image, and I led the charge on being unkind about it and saying it sucked. I think that was about it, for three pages.

I'm almost positive there was an older one before that. Bah, you have failed me again memory! Do not fail me again.

Sounding a bit egotistical there, dude.

Anyway, there's no image links page, sadly. So, somebody will have to find more images.

Hmmm, ok, here's something to consider for manga.◊

I dunno if we can do something with youtube videos, but here's some impressive damage in a video game.

The first one kinda relies on the speech bubbles to tell you exactly waht's going on, and the vid in the You Tube link doesn't really have any part that can be used as a screencap, I think.

Fair points. I guess the picture only works along with this◊ in my mind.

Eh, just throwing it out there.

I just see a bunch of paper flying around. Even if it was from Read Or Die, that wouldn't really show the trope.

Now if we saw a bunch of blades flying at someone, that would show the trope.

Also, anyone have a screenshot of the scene in Predator, where the guys are firing into the forest? That would go great on the film page.

And we might have to crop out the right side, due to the watermark, but damn, is this awesome: "Rain of bullets"◊.

Anyway, I agree we should keep the War Machine image for the Comics section. For anime and manga, how about an image of Father Anderson throwing a thousand of his knives at Alucard? I can't find a good image on Google Images, and I don't know how to take screencaps or I'd get some from the Hellsing episodes I have.

For Video Games, there's probably countless options. Maybe something like a horde of units attacking one unit in an RTS, but that might look too much like Zerg Rush, and I'm not sure if it really fits the trope anyway.

I think the MK 2 images say "hit really hard" but not "hit harder than necessary". They don't have a "bring a rocket launcher to a knife fight" flavor.

Tested it out, and it shrinks fine, with just a little sharpening. Caption could be "Not even a Marathon Boss could survive that!"

Does it make more sense to have a different thread for each sub-page?

Well I find if we can do more than one thing in one thread, it helps it get done, instead of taking up space (given the thread count limit).

It might make more sense as separate, but it's more convenient in one thread.

Plus if we wanted to do a crowner, then each image would note that it's a candidate for a certain medium, and the top votes for any medium gets on the page (as in if the literature winner gets less vote than the second place film picture, that's irrelevant to what goes on film and literature).
