Night Life's Ridiculously Complete List of Characters By Order of Appearance, i.e anyone ever named or referred to by a title in the story. Parenthetical names are the ones they're assigned in my head, but K-11 pilots are identified by their suit number exclusively in the story.

Note this is a story of only 7685 words.

K-11-2 (Sanderson): Main character. The one who actually lives out of the ADP's original armored trooper pilots. Retires in protest of department decisions after a year and half, precipitating the morale and disciplinary collapse of the ADP's Armored Trooper Program and several rounds of ugly recriminations and government investigation into decision-making in the ADPolice.

Chief Todo: From the canon. Speaking part, but not actually named; simply "the Chief".

K-11-8 (Yamamoto Ezaki): ADP armored trooper pilot. Does not have a speaking role. Lucky. Killed in action during Month Four of the Armored Trooper Program.

K-11-32: ADP armored trooper pilot. Does not have a speaking role. K-11-2 considers him a friend by Month Twelve of the Armored Trooper Program.

Leon McNichol: From the canon. ADP Inspector and incident response team commander. Theoretically in charge a lot of the time but smart enough to give the Armored Troopers leeway. Regarded as a good luck charm by the ADP for his record of surviving where it should not have been possible.

K-11-41: ADP armored trooper pilot. Stupid enough to consider fighting the Knight Sabers when they started. Killed in action at indeterminate point before Month Twelve of the Armored Trooper Program, as their suit is not among those inspected in Chapter 5.

K-11-42: ADP armored trooper pilot. Doesn't have a speaking role. Killed in action at indeterminate point before Month Twelve of the Armored Trooper Program, as their suit is not among those inspected in Chapter 5.

Patrolman Ishikawa: ADP foot officer. Killed in action, month five of the Armored Trooper Program. K-11-2 attends the funeral for Ishikawa and four other foot officers.

K-11-44 (Alberto Gonzales): ADP armored trooper pilot. K-11-2 considers him young and excitable, but talented.

K-11-48: ADP armored trooper pilot. Single mother supporting two kids with the pay from her job.

K-11-50 (Ryoko Tenkawa). ADP armored trooper pilot. K-11-2 describes her as young and full of fire, still thinking she can save everyone.

Saber Green, a.k.a Linna Yamazaki: Knight Saber. From the canon. Knocked unconcious briefly while in combat just before the Gulf & Bradley Natural Gas disaster, wakes up to discover her hardsuit is nonresponsive. When the natural gas facility explodes K-11-2 has to carry her out before the temperature overwhelms her suit's ability to compensate for it. Is rather bitter about the experience; she thinks of K-11-2 as the only man to ever show her real respect and yet the nature of their meeting is such they will never see each other's faces or interact again.

Saber White/Saber Lead, a.k.a. Sylia Stingray: Knight Saber. From the canon. Like the rest of the team, is seperated from Linna and forced to withdraw during the explosion. Speaks briefly to K-11-2 when she comes back to get Linna.

Saber Blue, a.k.a. Priss Asagiri: Knight Saber. From the canon. Priss' role is nearly non-existent. She has barely two lines.

Saber Red, a.k.a. Nene Romanova: Knight Saber. From the canon. Only a slightly larger role than Priss, though she accompanies Sylia to go get Linna back.

Daley: From the canon. Leon's partner. ADP inspector. K-11-2 and he have a distant but mutual respect for each other; they never directly interact in the story.

Kate Madigan: From the canon. Special Assistant and manager of many of the Genom megacorp's special projects. The ADP is often indirectly fighting her or Genom. Makes K-11-2 a job offer after he resigns in protest. The offer is refused.

Qunicy: From the canon. Quincy is Genom, CEO and dictator-for-life. Madigan was merely conveying the offer from him to K-11-2. Makes plans to use the resignation of the most senior member of the Armored Trooper Program to stir up trouble for the ADP; one way or another, Genom always profits.

EDIT: accidental wiki-words and it occurred to me I should probably make it more clear some of them are never even assigned a gender.

I might actually get some use out of this. I'd like to give all but one character in this story a Latin-esque name, but I'm not sure what would sound silly to other people, so I'd like to ask for input on what does and doesn't work. As drafted, I have:

??: Substance priest (or, more formally, priest of the True God in His aspect of Substance.) A bit hedonistic, but less selfish than he first seems. Needs a male Latin name. (I'm tempted to call him Horace, but that seems a little ugly.)

Astra: Void priest, as well as high priest, and the only female among them. (Technically, it should be "Asta," but this is a fantasy setting, so I can probably get away with it.) One of the two priests who genuinely believes that her powers come from God. She's a bit stuck-up, but she practices what she preaches.

??: Energy priest. The only foreigner in the group (his name is described in-story as an awkward transliteration from another alphabet.) Intelligent and diligent. Tends to avoid conflict, but he's suppressing more frustration than you'd think. (I've been calling him Sahe in the writeups, but I think I need something that more clearly shows that he's from elsewhere.)

Favian: Cessation priest, and the energy priest's only friend. May be even smarter than him, but is definitely more cowardly. (This is the only name I chose to be deliberately ironic—it implies bravery.)

Arden: Light priest, and Astra's best friend. (I've currently planned for the two to have similar-sounding names, to play up how close they were to each other before the events of the story, although it would be a bit much to do the same with the other pair of friends.) Anyways, he's the other true believer. He has high expectations of everyone, including himself, but he tries to help other people meet those expectations.

??: Shadow priest. Never stays depressed longer than five minutes at a time. No one's quite sure why he was chosen for his power. (He's slightly effeminate, so I'd like to give him a gender-neutral Latin name—maybe Merritt?)

??: A protest leader who speaks out against many social ills, all of which he blames on inequality. His cause is peaceful, but he's met with violence more than once. He's transgender (FTM), but not many people realize this. (I was going to use the name "Kirie," but I think that's always feminine. "Kyrie" is gender-neutral, and would make a nice pun on "kyriarchy," but it might be a bit much to give him a name that's sometimes used to refer to God.)

I like all of them, even the placeholder names, except for Favian and Arden. One sounds like it came from a cheesy romance novel and I swear I've heard the second one at least a dozen and a half times (or something similar) in just as many stories.

Hmm . . . Alban could replace Arden, to keep the initial A. Favian's harder to figure. Perrin, maybe?

From my Magical Los Angeles setting.... it gets kind of long... The story is kind of split between the slice-of-(fantasy) life story of Whitby and the They Fight Crime! of Wolff and Landon (with some slice of fantasy life on the side)... I assume the list of criminals with names will get incredibly long if I stick with it for a long time.

Mun Li is an the rich heiress of a silver-mining company who has little fondness for werewolves and is probably guilty of a few hate crimes.

Kenan Xun is a recently released convict. His case was the first conviction of manslaughter via lycanthropy and he's a bit of a lightning rod.

Alex Xun is Kenan's son and rather curious about his father even though Kenan would rather be left alone.

Mr. Po is a crow-therianthrope that makes money on the side asking his crows to bring him shiny things.

Epifania De Luca is a vampire wanderer. She spends a lot of time navel-gazing and almost always becomes attached to guys who are no good for her.

Diarmuid MacClellan is an ephebophile serial rape-murder vampire. He has decided to make a game of how poorly he can lie and still get a girl in bed, but he disregards that he's just ended up hunting only the dumbest girls he can find.

Owen Turnbull is an FBI agent leading the investigation on the Unicorn Mafia.

Danby Chan is an FBI agent who specializes in forensic accounting.

Fischer Martin Paxton is the leader of a Unitarian Universalist community. He has a particular soft-spot for werewolves, but will always jump to the defense of any law-abiding monster and will always suggest "hugs" as a solution and has been sent to the hospital multiple times due to giving the benefit of the doubt to people he should not have.

Yasmin Wolff is an FBI agent who is definitely not a werewolf. She in charge of Landon's on-the-job training. She has a very cold exterior and no patience for nonsense, but she is very charitable. She is immune to being turning into a vampire, werewolf, or other and has a peculiarly strong immune system.

Roderick Landon is an FBI agent who used to be in the US Army.. He was recently turned into a vampire and is taking it well or at least not showing his unhappiness. Landon is a perky guy who believes in sticking up for the little guy (and being the tallest person in the cast, everyone is the little guy to him).

Andrea Langley is Landon's fiancee. She is a kindergarten teacher with an incredible weakness for cutting construction paper and glurge. Hansraj is a college student studying something involving computers and an incompetent practitioner of jeet kun do.

Whitby Toivonen is a crow therianthrope and college student of undeclared major. He can get very mopey, but isn't always completely passive. He likes building things and is a bit introverted.

Erin is Whitby's ex-girlfriend. She is of the psycho variety and she gets put in jail for assault.

Shelby Toivonen is Whitby's younger brother and kind of a brat because everyone spoils him.

Thursday Toivonen is Whitby and Shelby's mom. She's a florist.

Kanoa Park is a vampire who runs a flower shop. He insists that he can talk to flowers. He doesn't seem all there in the head, but somehow is always very on top of things.

Adamaris Murphy is a mortician who doesn't quite like vampires and divorced Kanoa after she finished sending the vampire responsible to jail.

Barnaby Toivonen is Whitby and Shelby's dad. He plays on his company's baseball team. he is a bit distance and prefers his younger son.

Yue Fa is a a college student taking classes on every subject that could help her survive potential apocalypse or life self-sufficiently. She practices wing chun and parkour and some "whatever the hell works."

Mr. Fa is Yue's father and the only person more paranoid than her. He has never been the same after the unexplained disappearance of his wife.

Daniel Accorso is a "feral sweater boy" who wants to be a teacher. He also has an interest in fashion... but none of his friends like his taste.

Hirsch is one of Landon's friends from the Army. he hates it when Landon carries him around. He is always willing to give Landon some blood to drink.

Cain and Abel are twins with very ill-thought-out names. Cain is better behaved because everyone always suspects him and Abel is a complete brat. Their parents dump them on anyone stupid enough to want to babysit Abel.

Einhard Mansley and Elwood Mansley are two vampires who team-up kidnapping girls to eat.

Guy is a headless revenant who works at the DMV. Joking about his lack of head usually makes the line go slower. He also hates shapeshifters who can't change on-command to make taking photos go faster.

Lady is a girl with vitiligo who also works at the DMV and the object of Guy's affections.

Gavin Von Thaft is a vampire scientist. Gavin is usually thinking of harebrained schemes like breeding an "all-fin shark" to sell for shark's fin soup. He is also of minor celebrity status because he starred in an ad asking vampires to buy aphrodisiacs for their human friends so the blood supply would be larger.

Coffee Table Vampire is a vampire that is a paparazzi and sneaks into people's houses shapeshifted into a coffee table. He hasn't got a name yet.

Prince Sparklepants is the leader of the Unicorn Mafia.

Hiram O'Hara is a vampire running for the Republican presidential nomination. He claims to drink blood only from blood bags, but has been found nipping on virgins, but he says the important part is that he did not devirginize them. He was on the Confederate side during the Civil war, but prefers no one mention it (so everyone mentions it.).

Casey is a werewolf running for the Republican presidential nomination. He constantly gets caught naked after the night of the full moon.

Morning Sunshine is a unicorn who is an Independent and also seeking to be president. He has a Super PAC that churns out Tastes Like Diabetes ads.

Imaran is the owner of a vampire bar of questionable legality. Some of the blood he gets is from disposing bodies for people and the blood he sells as "virgin" rarely is.

Vincenzo is Imaran's "best friend" or more an incompetent moral guardian.

Since my writing is half Fan Web Comic (It's really complicated to explain), would the characters from the various Fandoms I have in the story count?

burnpsy Since: Sep, 2010
#43: Feb 1st 2012 at 7:28:51 PM

OK, making up the list now. I'm using a different labelling scheme and taking shortcuts in describing because I'm lazy.

Since this work is a game, characters playable starting from chapter 1, chapter 2, and chapter 3 are labelled as such. Non-playables are not labeled. Half-way through, I got bored and just started listing a bunch of names without context... But my list is long, so whatever.

Isn't my naming ability great?

  • Magnet Zakame: The main character, a turtle with built-in wheels and wings, who wields a guitar and has total control over magnetism. He attacks primarily by making things explode, and uses his wings like swords. He later gets an ability to read and control people's minds after his guitar amplifies his power using a power known as "Heart".
  • Shock Fulgur: A friend of Magnet's, a cat with total control over lightning. He gets bored all the time for various reasons.
  • Ruyo de Goza: A ninja mage Goza Ranger, and a member of the Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot Association of Magic (Ninpizoro), as well as being Goza Black of the Goza Rangers. He specializes in transformation magic and can transform into any of the aforementioned things or all at once. He is the only exception to the Goza Rangers' tendency to have incestuous feelings for their brothers/sisters, and has exiled himself from the clan because of it.
  • Torn Nado: A mouse with control over wind. He manipulates all those around him in whatever manner is most convenient to him.
  • Haidrow Wing: A parrot with control over water. He acts upon everything in the name of "justice".
  • Spark O'Flaime: A turtle/phoenix hybrid with total control over fire. She has known Magnet since they were children, and, as such, only Magnet and her enemies have seen her hybrid form. She has an odd knack for knowing exactly what Magnet's thought process in any given situation would be. It's later revealed that she's one of DOGS' "Perfect Girls", girls manipulated since birth only be able to love their pre-planned target, and cover their weaknesses.
  • Paisonya "Belle" Lablanc: A cat with complete control over sound. She's Shock's counterpart in the "Perfect Girls". She feels unworthy of everything. She appears earlier, talking through her puppets, as Paisonya, leader of RAEG.
  • Shi Nai: A samurai and master of Shieldmaster techniques as well as Shin-kobu-ryū. She's the only daughter of the head of the Nai clan, a clan which has opposed the Goza Rangers for generations. She's Ruyo's "Perfect Girls" counterpart.
  • Milly Giga: A mouse who can spin so quickly that the acts as a drill. She's Torn's counterpart in the "Perfect Girls".
  • Sage Nocturna: An owl with control over earth. She wears glasses that reveal whether or not someone is telling the truth. She's Haidrow's counterpart in the "Perfect Girls".
  • Runa de Goza: Ruyo's sister, Goza White of the Goza Rangers.
  • Imasu and Rimasu de Goza: Ruyo's cousin, twins. Goza Blue and Red respectively of the Goza Rangers.
  • Taose Nai: Shi's father, head of the Nai clan. Said to be undefeatable.
  • Kajō Nai and Mottai Nai: Two samurai that act as each other's yin and yang.
  • Abu Nai: A samurai who's so awesome he crashes the game upon being encountered the first time.
  • Kure Nai and Shika Nai: Two samurai who specialize in tricks that restrict enemy movements.
  • DOGS: The leader of DOGS. Describing him very much is a massive spoiler, but it is said that he can tell what people will be thinking in the future with a power he calls "Future Heart".
  • Tikk Tocc: The narrator. He is said to be the keeper of time. By all appearances, he seems to be a sentient wristwatch.
  • Ja Nai: Kun's father. Seems to have some connection to DOGS.
  • Ru Nai: Kun's mother. Seems to have some connection to DOGS. She was once known as Ru de Goza, the legendary Goza Rainbow.
  • Kun Nai: A mysterious girl who tests Ruyo, claiming she "cannot allow the past to repeat iself."
  • Jirk Gaemur: Read the name aloud and guess.
  • FΩ: Also known as Fome and Fame. She's a mecha made of metal foam, sent to attack Magnet and abuse Elemental Rock-Paper-Scissors.
  • Roberto: A dog made of rubber and later infused with lead. He intends to steal the main character position.
  • Pierre/Piernite/Pierwarrior/Pierknight
  • Magnet A
  • Magnet Z
  • Magnet E
  • Magnet Δ
  • Magnet Γ
  • Magnet B
  • Joe Cuidado/Normalboy
  • President Bob
  • Shufit Likeluv
  • Mr. G
  • Charlito Norreys
  • Georgie San
  • Nouth
  • Sandaal
  • Smoak
  • Suzanne Owoh
  • Dr. Gekke Wetenschapper
  • Hama

Looks like fun, I think I'll join in.smileThis is the cast of the Wall Street Avenger, a short comic book I wrote and illustrated for a media class project. I have plans for future stories, but it's currently taking a back seat to other projects.

Lance Braintree/The Wall Street Avenger Once a mild-mannered Wall Street investor, Lance witnessed first-hand the brutal bankruptcy of his parents. From that day he has sworn to defend the financial world from all foes, donning suit and tie to become the Wall Street Avenger.

Doctor Bertram Blaustein The smartest man alive and inventor of many state of the art devices, Doctor Blaustein provides Lance with all the technological gadgets he needs to fight enemies of the stock market.

Exposition Bot A robot designed to spout exposition when needed, capable of analyzing and summarizing plot details with a 96.2% accuracy rating.

Will Beigeman/Paperboy The Wall Street Avenger's sidekick. By day, he is a paperboy. By night, he is a paperboy, and fights crime.

Professor Genocide A mad scientist and Lance's oldest arch-nemesis. Recently killed off by falling into a vat of radioactive acid... or was he?

Cyborg President Roosevelt An evil version of President Franklin D Roosevelt, and a cyborg. Tried to destroy America before being returned to normal by Doctor Blaustein's de-hypnofier device.

The Fuhrer The ruler of an evil European empire, the Fuhrer used gypsy magic to foresee his own defeat at the hands of the USA. He swore loyalty to a race of time-travelling space mushrooms in exchange for becoming Chancellor of Earth, but so far his schemes have been foiled by Lance and company.
