As literally as is humanly possible.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadI'm surprised by how low tier Haoh-Maru was in Samsho 1. Dat Sempuuretsuzan start up, meng.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Wasn't Ukyo really good in Sam Sho? When I was little and first played the game I had so much Viewer Gender Confusion. I thought Ukyo was a woman, Charlotte was a prince and Amakusa was a wicked middle aged fat lady. I used to have a crush on Nakoruru too :P Her and Galford were my favorites since they had pets, though I liked Haohmaru too since he could shoot tornadoes out of his sword and Gen-an since he was the freak character, which I was a fan of back then.

Yeah, Samsho characters are incredibly well designed. Very iconic.
Well, 'cept for Jubei and Hanzo, since they're more or less very close to their real life counterparts.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Is this franchise really dead? Did Sen really kill the franchise?
Not sure if it's truly dead.
I don't remember many, but the name Earthquake helped when I needed a name for an earth-user in a fanseries. I own the first game, I think. Cham-Cham was also in Marvel VS Capcom 2, I believe. Or was it Sunsung?
Quest 64 threadYou mean SNK Vs Capcom.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.SNK's best franchise besides The Last Blade if you ask me. Wasn't Nobuhiro Watsuki a huge fanboy of the series too? I remember he kept on saying on his author notes how editors and fans would hound him over being influenced by the Sam Sho character designs.
That guy was influenced by EVERYTHING. Not a bad thing, though.
Even though Samsho 3 was kind of a shitdump for the series, I like the artstyle, and I like Basara's laugh the best.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.The only Sam Sho game I happen to have is the second one for the Neo-Geo Pocket Color.
It raises a few questions though, like "what exactly is the difference between Burst and Slash mode?"
visit my blog!I've never been able to make head to toe of that system myself.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.I think it just changes about some of the characters movesets and colour scheme. That's all I can think off.
Reviving because I recently got the Anthology for PS 2.
I've been playing Sam Sho 1 a lot lately. Today I played so intensely that my mind... just went blank. Like I couldn't think. I was playing as Haohmaru on Normal and my third opponent was Wan-Fu. One thing that effed me up is it seems like the delivery dude really loves to drop bombs on that stage—sometimes there would be two delivery dudes at once!
It seems like Sam Sho 1 is more... strategic than most other fighters. I found out quickly that button-mashing is a one-way-ticket to loseville.
I like Galford. I don't normally like dogs, but I make an exception for Poppy.
visit my blog!I've always loved that about Samurai Shodown. At least, the earlier games. The games are more about punishing the opponent's mistakes rather than trading obnoxious lengthy combos.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Yeah I like that as well. Even today that sort of strategic approach in 2D fighters is rare and never done quite as well as it is in the earlier Samshos. SS 2 is still enjoyable even now and hasn't aged as bad compared to other fighters of its time. I prefer it over any iteration of SF 2 myself.
And the series' music is fantastic, of course.

I also had a crush on Nakoruru. I though Ukyo was Scottish (the kilt), and Wan Fu was Arabian (his scimitar).
I am completely, utterly, and thoroughly done with Sola Sonica and 2DSNK Playmore apparently has a crush on Nakoruru too, as she somehow managed to appear as the Tutorial announcer for KOF i-2012.
SEN didn't kill all of SamSho after all.
Do you have any idea how much SNK loves their mascots?
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Enough to make dozens of gimmick Dating Sims games out of them.
Where i can get those¿¿¿
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/Most of them were on early Japanese mobile phones, but I think there was a compilation released for the DS or something... but only in Japan.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.Wan fu has easily one of the best themes in the series!

I remember reading that all the Days of Memories games were compiled onto the DS.
I kinda want to play them, but not really interested in the Dating Sim genre or getting a DS.
visit my blog!Info about Days of Memories is on the The King of Fighters page.
Anyway talking about SamSho, it's really sad that after V the series just stopped evolving, while KOF just kept going further even when SNK was going through hard times.
Ah yes, one of the first, if not the absolute first, in weapon fighters.
Our first order of business: How literally do you want to take the phrase "High level japanese play"?
