It's strange that the biggest factor was out of their control(The rising yen).
And to think that they were finding their footing...
I thought this was old news.
3DS FC: 1719-3694-1541Oh no, now Iwata may have to settle for a fifty story mansion instead of a sixty story one.
Easy street has no parking signs.See, they really should've waited until they had a good launch lineup before releasing the 3DS. Something like Kingdom Hearts 3D or even Super Mario Land 3D would've probably helped immensely.
And they shouldn't have priced it at TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY-NINE US DOLLARS.
Easy street has no parking signs. That's what they priced the PSP at when it came out, right? Or was it more than that?
Both 3DS and Vita priced at that point initially...and both have sales suffered...3DS only started to pull up after Nintendo drastically dropped the price, and has to sell it at a loss...Nintendo NEVER sells hardware at a loss before (I think)...

ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Yes, it is old news, Nintendo is a human business prone to making stupid human mistakes like the Gamecube, just like Sony and Microsoft, move along.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture Rack@ 4 and 10: Yeah it is old new, but they updated their predictions for an even greater loss.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."So what does the greater loss mean?
It means they'll print less money.
I don't think it's so much a "loss" as it is "we made less money than anticipated."

Helpful Scripts and Stylesheets here.Pretty sure they're actually doing better than originally anticipated.
Or, there could be a few, more minor ramifications. Like people losing jobs or projects being canceled.
We are in the middle of a global economic crisis/uncertainty. Its no surprise that guys who sell recreational, big ticket items aren't hauling stuff in. Plus, as has been said, the yen hasn't been that great lately.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.OH NOES NINTENDO IS DOOMED!!1!one!! </overreaction>
Seriously, this doesn't mean anything yet.

Eh.
Easy street has no parking signs.Nintendo's still crazy rich. I'd suspect this is barely a dent.
What this most likely means, or rather, what Iwata said this means, is that they're going to try and make sure they're will be overall profitable next fiscal year. In other words, making a loss isn't something they want to make a habit of doing. This can have some ramifications as to what they're going to do with the Wii U launch.
Helpful Scripts and Stylesheets here.

It seems Nintendo predicts it will have an $834 million loss when it ends its fiscal year on March 31st.
Sucks, they aren't making as much money as they used to.
EDIT: Linked to the right news article. Sry about that folks.
