I'm assuming they're, uh... important certificates of some kind, probably having to do with edumacation.
As for the next chapter, I've got three and a half pages written, and there's already one scene of delicious M-ness to be found in it, with more to follow. :D
I like how that sounds~, mostly cause it means I get to read about little girls suffering through an analog of Hell.
And those two expand to (Cambridge) Certificate in Advanced English and Certificate in Proficient English respectively, which are the most advanced exams Cambridge has available for learners, aside from specific professional language tests (lawyers, economists, businessmen/women - professions with peculiar required vocabularies and stuff like that). In believe the only further tests I could take, and actually get something out of, would be the ones that can qualify me to teach the language.

OH GOD WHY AM I A CAR!? - ForzareLet me guess... you're saying "delicious M-ness" to make us all think it's yuri or something, and then it'll just turn out to be Konata or someone dying in such a horrific manner that it gives the fic an M rating.
HYPOTHETICAL QUESTION FOR THE NEXT CHAPTER, WHICH I HOPE DOES NOT GET ME ARRESTED:
How much damage would roughly 25 pounds of C4 do?
edited 10th Feb '12 12:44:08 PM by FringeBenefits
A little context would help, is it for throwing as a bomb, cluster explosion, or separate simultaneous blasts total?
OH GOD WHY AM I A CAR!? - ForzareIt's tightly packed inside a really big pipe bomb, and triggered by a remote detonator.
I want to know if the blast could conceivably shatter something nine feet tall and made of solid lead. It's not super important that the scene be accurate, but I'd like to have a ballpark of what kind of damage it would do, just for the sake of curiosity.

cluster it is... I wouldn't really know, but I'll see if I can find any info.
OH GOD WHY AM I A CAR!? - ForzareChapter 10 is done. I'm just waiting on Forz to get his ass online so he can give his approval. (HINT, HINT)
Okay, here it is, finally. This one's a little shorter than the previous chapters... I decided to make my readers suffer another cliffhanger. XD

Please enjoy this chapter's DELICIOUS M-NESS, which I'm confident you'll like much better than the alternative, DELICIOUS P-NE... -is shot repeatedly-
RARE AND ENTHRYN
Y U NO REED CHAPTUR
I read it, I just have not many things to say about it. The only thing that jumped out to me was that I felt as if the contrast in this one was too drastic.
Also, The Juggernaut; and Desi is a bitch.

OH GOD WHY AM I A CAR!? - ForzareThe Mood Whiplash was sort of intentional, but I guess it was too much.
Yeah, I already added The Juggernaut (bitch) to the trope page. I'll get started on writing Gaspare's profile tonight... just need to work on his backstory as a human.
As for Desideria: Forz specifically said in his original notes that she would specialize in playing mind games with her victims instead of direct combat. I figured the best (read: cruelest) way to play mind games with Homura was to have Moemura show up and put her under the verbal lash.
And if you think she's a bitch now... :D
I think you tried to put too many important, and maybe complicated, things in both sides. I do understand how they can be considered parallels despite the contrast, but both might have been too much to handle together.
Oh btw, is Desi's name meaningful? So far I can't tell if the nature of her name has anything to do with her nature.
OH GOD WHY AM I A CAR!? - ForzareI also read it, and didn't have that much to say about it. I'll take another look at some point and see if there's anything I want to comment on.
"Desideria" is the feminine form of an Italian name meaning "longing".
Thanks for being honest, guys. I'll put in some effort to make the next chapter better.
UNRELATED: Blaz Blue Continuum Shift Extend has Hazama call Ragna "grumpypants" in one of the joke endings. This makes me obscenely happy.

I can't think of any particular objections to the chapter at the moment; it's just that the previous chapter was really good and very intense, so this one seems less interesting by comparison. Not sure what to do about it, though. Maybe find a way to tie them together better, like by having Homu recalling the events of the previous chapter in some way?
Longing is another word, but desire is better
OH GOD WHY AM I A CAR!? - ForzareOH DESIRE?
OH DESIRE!
wtf did I just watch
OH GOD WHY AM I A CAR!? - ForzareNext profile go!
GASPARE, The Fourth (from Chapter 11)
The Demon of Greed, he has a covetous nature. His curse was born from an old man who lived in a squalid apartment in an extremely poor neighborhood. The man was extremely anti-social and refused to give or take any sort of aid, living his entire life alone. Only upon his death was it discovered that the man was actually incredibly wealthy; he obsessively hoarded and hid his money for his entire adult life, and therefore wasted it all. His Lair is a maze of black boulders, rolling in random directions and crashing into each other, making mountains in odd shapes before driving themselves apart again. Gaspare's second stage takes the form of an enormous knight, with the upper body grotesquely hunched over as if he were carrying a great weight. The knight has no face and no features at all, his head is but a shapeless lump upon its shoulders. His entire body, armor included, is made of solid lead, making him the slowest and heaviest of the Nine. Thin veins of gold and silver can be seen connecting each piece of the armor's plating to other pieces. In one hand, Gaspare carries a wicked golden lance, and in the other a polished silver shield. He is the least intelligent of the Nine, and never speaks.
Gaspare's Spawn are seldom seen; he eats them immediately whenever he finds them in his Lair. The Spawn are beautiful, bird-like creatures made of precious metals, but when Gaspare consumes them they are turned to worthless lead and incorporated into his armor. He is said to do the same to any humans that wander into his domain.
DEVELOPMENT INFO: This one is based directly off of the Fourth Circle in The Inferno, Hoarders and Squanderers. Dante spent less time describing this circle and its tortures than any other (only half a canto!), so (un)fortunately I had a lot of leeway when it came to design. I took Forz's original idea of an enormous knight that never speaks, and added the lead, gold, and silver imagery to reinforce the theme. The hunched-over posture was a last-minute addition, as one more nod to the sinners of the Fourth Circle, who carry enormous boulders on their backs that are proportional to the weight of their sins, and run around crashing them into each other.
"Gaspare" is an Italian name meaning "treasure bearer".

question, if he had a weakness, would it be related to his greed and what is within the armor?
OH GOD WHY AM I A CAR!? - Forzare
Yay thanks!
So, how is your endeavor to earn the M rating going?
And btw, do you know what CAE and CPE stand for?
