...I don't quite get what you mean by that sentence.
It's derailzy so don't worry about it.
Unfortunately, Tomu, some people do think value is added by dubbing. So whatever you would like to think, mister armchair economist, you're wrong. Good day to you.
TTGL dub was pretty good, yeah.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone....
Please read my arguments before disagreeing with them. Dubbing is certainly SOME value added, but I think you've overplayed your case.
I've always wondered about Kashimashi Girl Meets Girl myself. Awkward melodrama aside, it's not exactly a concept that attracts mass appeal to warrant a dub.

...this shit's gone nowhere FAST.
WHY IS IT EVERYONE TRIES TO RERAIL, PEOPLE COMMENT ABOUT HOW THE DERAIL IS A DERAIL?
Gawd.
Zatch Bell. WTF was up with that?
Shounen series (which Zatch Bell is) generally have mass appeal, and as such easier to market overseas, which means getting dubbing for them is much easier than, say, Ikoku Meiro no Croisee or ARIA.
Come to think of it, wasn't Beelzebub getting a dub as well?

I dunno, YOU ASK ME.
And Zatch Bell...that was okay for what they had to air. I'd compare it with late 4Kids era Pokémon with more understandable edits.

Chi chi chi chi oppaaaaaaai~
I was super pissed by the PS 2 game.
They fucking murderized it to avoid spoilers -_-
Heh, Ninja Nonsense/Ninin Shinobuden. Some of Onsokumaru's charm was lost in the English dub for that one, especially since Norio Wakamoto just hammed it up SO WELL.
Here's one that sticks in my mind: GARZEY'S WING. Oh Haruhi, Garzey's Wing.

You really can't beat Wakamoto. Though I vaguely recall that, of all things, DRAGON BALL Z had a decent voice for a character Wakamoto did (aka Cell).
The Ocean Group dub for Dragon Ball Z. Less for the actual voice actors than the cheesoriffic, super-'90s rewrite. Although, when I saw the earlier episodes redubbed by FU Nimation, I was surprised to miss some of the older lines that I did remember.
I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting AgencyOh wow, this thread actually survived. Color me suprised, yep the fans have come a long way from blaming dubs for all the world's evils.
Or perhaps I'm speaking to soon.
Anyways,ad much as it pains me to say,Pokemon, and its not so much the actors,as it is the dubs refusal to ever use any of the original bgm. And with the recent interview with the people who make that crap,is certainly not helping. I mean what was he thinking, dishing out attacks at the original bgm,and for the show

ONE PIECE SEASON 4 IS HERE!! Support the straw hats and funimation: http://tinyurl.com/cffxygrNEVER? Even earlier, they alternated between the dub music and original BGM (which is why I compared Zatch Bell to this). TPCi seems to be shying away from the dub music in recent seasons — there are entire episodes that go with the soundtrack untouched, usually important ones.

I love how everyone's decided to interpret "Well, the original BGM sounded kinda plain to us, so we decided to replace it with something more impressive" as "OMG HE'S ATTACKING THE SACRED MUSIC OF JAPAN LIKE THE EVIL DUB MONSTER HE IS". It's just their opinion, stated quite civilly. No need to call it an attack, seriously.
Geez I go away for a day and look what i start! >:
BTW, the dub for Ninja Nonsense got Sean Schemmel to do Onsokamaru... the same voice actor for Adult Goku! Coincidence?
? Why is that a coincidence? If it was the guy that did Cell from DBZ THAT would be a coincidence.
Like getting Lisa Oritz to do another Megumi Hayashibara character other than Lina Inverse or something.
Idaten Jump. A manga/anime so obscure that not even TV Tropes recognizes it, yet I actually was able to watch it on the brief amount of time that it aired on Cartoon Network. It's pretty bland and forgettable on its own (both the manga and anime lasted a year), and the dub suffers from the typical Bowderlizations you'd see from Four Kids. Yet the wierdest thing is the talent that the dubbing got. The majority of the cast is played by either Michelle Ruff, Kirk Thorton, or Steven Blum, and the lead's played by freaking Yuri Lowenthal.
You know what was a good dub? Cowboy Bebop. I liked that.
“My body is ready. I’m gonna take your names, take your ass, and then we’ll be making games”. - Reggie Fils-Aime, CEO of Nintendo AmericaSimilarly, Baccano! is another well-made, acclaimed dub.
Estimated shipping time: 2-4 weeks. The Odex dub of One Piece. It was pretty shockingly bad, worse than the 4kids dub.
Oh, well, of course. Entrenched interests always do.
