Thanks. I'd come across the website before but unless I'm missing something, it doesn't really address/comment on bolt-action vs lever-action rifles.
Quite simply they probably wouldn't have either.
Oh really when?Center-fire rifles in general are heavily restricted. Ownership of one requires a reasonably deep background check, and the prospective owner must justify their need for one. Hunting and personal defence are not considered valid reasons for owning a CF rifle.
"Yup. That tasted purple."Maybe I'm misinterpreting it but doesn't the Deer Act 1991 all but necessitate that a deer hunter use high-caliber, centre-fire rifles when shooting deer?
Likewise, firearm ownership in the UK is allowed for things like profession and sport; of which hunting probably falls under depending on the individual.
For long guns it's allowed, but handguns are banned fully, our Olympic team have to train abroad.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranI recall a news article from the '88 Olympics in Seoul. Every competitor involved in shooting sports had to have a police officer escorting him/her around. But cops in South Korea don't carry firearms. So the person being guarded had a gun, while the guard didn't. Go figure...
This Space Intentionally Left Blank.I prefer Texas: if you want to hunt with a .50 BMG, go right ahead.
Coyotes are vermin, so shoot them all you want.
All night at the computer, cuz people ain't that great. I keep to myself so I won't be on The First 48Hooya Texas!
I still have no idea why this abomination needed to exist.
Words fail me....
You're right, there is absolutely no reason for that thing to have ever been designed, let alone put into production. No wonder it didn't sell.
This Space Intentionally Left Blank.Same logic that saw them turn a shotgun labelled an NFA destructive device into a pistol.
"Yup. That tasted purple."Ahh Cobray. Your bizarre line of quirky fire arms inspired imagination rather than respect. That seems more like the kind of weapon you make when you have limited manufacturing capabilities and have to make concessions to design limitations.
As for it's existence.

Who watches the watchmen? That's another way of saying: It's the sort of gun you build when you only have leftover bits and pieces to work with, and too much free time on your hands. Then you hope somebody might buy it from you, so you can justify the time you spent in building it.
This Space Intentionally Left Blank.Lol. That is likely the more accurate statement.
Who watches the watchmen?Heck, I do the same thing sometimes, when work is slow in the maintenance department. I make warhammers and flails out of junk I find in the scrap bin. Working on my sixth right now.
This Space Intentionally Left Blank.Lol. Yeah but your not Cobray trying to rake in dough though. I think you get a fair pass on it as a way to spend time. For Cobray I suspect it was the result of some bored designer going I have a great idea lets try this. Said with a bottle of whiskey in hand.

Who watches the watchmen? That thing looks and sounds like some sort of zip gun I'd expect someone to have made in their garage, not a thing an actual company would try to sell to a consumer market.
I could see it as a gun in the Fallout series you craft from junk you gather.
Who watches the watchmen?Oh boy you have no idea how accurate your statement is for FO 4.
Sadly you don't have junkyard shotungs but you do have them for everyone else so far.
Inter arma enim silent legesI have FO4. The pipe guns are kind of interesting in general. Prefer the combat rifle personally. The one I have now I converted from the .45 to the .308 Receiver with all the other bells and whistles. It is my weapon of choice until I pick up its Unique Version.
Fallout has some interesting weapon designs in it. Some of them look functional others make my eyes hurt as they are ugly and would hurt to hold and shoot.
Who watches the watchmen?I got the explosive Combat Rifle in .308, it is my to go weapon now along my heavily modded Righteous Authority laser rifle.
The Assault Rifle is something I am staying far way from because it is plain horrible compared to all other weapons and feels like a Vickers HMG, a type 92 and a MP 43 had an orgy and that thing was the spawn from it.
The pipe guns are something you toss away as soon as you find the other types of weapons but you can't really avoid not using them on the early game.
Inter arma enim silent legespersonal current main is a .45 sub machine gun. Great in it's own right, this one staggers enemies 45% of the time. Given it's ROF, that means a quick burst holds anything back for a few seconds.
I'm baaaaaaackThe comments from a Cobray Terminator owner here are pretty enlightening. Apparently the barrels are indeed leftovers from a cancelled AA-12 contract. And the recoil is as bad as you think it would be.
I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiotLol. So it is pretty lousy weapon to shoot.
Another rare gun to look into was the Colt Monitor Automatic Machine Rifle (R 80). Had a very limited production run of around 120 or so guns almost entirely made for LEO, bank, government, and qualified security agencies.
Who watches the watchmen?
this should answer your question https://www.gov.uk/hunting/overview it's mostly a matter of legality to our strict firearms laws
