Started the wars that lead to their deaths. Finally stopped taking BS from Saddam. And managed to mis-managed it into hell.

I'm baaaaaaackWhat would you have them do, Tom? I'm serious. Make an abstract piece of legislation banning all Sharia law?
I'm a skeptical squirrelSeparate religion from government plain and simple.
@ Johnnyfog's first post: I wanna be a part of the New World Order! Those dictatorship soldiers always get to learn cool dancing steps to glorify Our Glorious Leader.
And the snazzy outfits. Never forget the snazzy outfits.
I am just joking. Maybe.
But the real answer: no.
The country as a whole learned that Civil War and splintering away was a really bad idea the first time.
And it would make the Republicans look hilariously hypocritical if they rebelled. Country First...right.

Banning minarets is like banning steeples on churches. It dosn't stop anything but what their temples looks like. Banning the headgarb is about as bad. Banning visual symbols does NOTHING.
If you want to ban polygamy, sure. You want to block their laws on economy from mattering, fine. You cant control what they wear. Their personal decisions have to be left alone. But things that affect other CAN. and Should.
Not to mention they'd get their ass kicked. Most republicans would stay loyal, and the military would mostly side with the gov. Some might not, but most would.

I'm baaaaaaackThe Bush administration killed like 75% of al-Qaida because they all decided to zerg-rush Iraq. And I wouldn't call the Ba'athists or al-Sadr a lose, either.

Hail Martin Septim!Actually, there multiple countries in Europe that are majority muslim:
Albania, Kosovo, Turkey (if you call it part of Europe), Azerbaijan, Abkhazia & South Ossetia (if you recognize them), Bosnia, and Chechnya (if you recognize it)
@Tom
So, UK government dicks around with some minor bullshit irrelevent to non-muslims, and therefore Europe is one step away from Sharia? Once again, bullshit.

^^^ But you can limit their influence on government. Take away all the powers of the religion and it works in a modern society.
Britain has been less than intelligent in that regard.

...and this thread has already outlived its usefulness. I'd normally just thump the off-topic posts, but that'd be about half the thread at this point.

I'm bad, and that's good. I will never be good, and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me.
^^^ Several countries in Europe have enacted several pieces of legislation basically making legal provisions of Sharia Law. For instance polygamy is illegal in Great Britain but foreign polygamous marriages were allowed mainly for the reason that the nigh entirety of such immigrant marriages came from Sharia Law influenced locations. And then you have basically Sharia courts being allowed legally in the UK (though at the moment they have no real legal power).
Some have attempted to combat it (Switzerland's minaret ban, France banning the burqa) but it has met with very hostile reception.
^ Spare us the boohoo story about Utoya. The left wing doesn't have a better track record when you look at history.
