More tropes to include under Omniscient Source Of Answers: The Library Of Babel, which might be split into "library of everything" and "magic library".
Do we want to make a rename crowner for this then?

"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerCalling crowner.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI think that whether the contents of the database are about magic or not makes absolutely no difference. This is about the data you need to advance the story just magically being in the database.
No change needed.

Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyIt makes no difference indeed. Whether the data are actual magic or are improbably well working is a difference, though.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanPlus, it's actually possible for a literally magical database to not be what's currently called a Magical Database.
I'm not sure about those YKTTWs at the top of the page, though. We may be making this unnecessarily complicated.

Yes. This is unnecessary refinement.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyWell, there is a genuine problem - this trope is, basically, Omniscient Information Source, but is being used for literally-magical databases regardless of whether they're actually omniscient (or even particularly close). So a rename probably is a good idea. But splitting it up? Not really necessary.
It's a transplant, not a rename. We are making a trope about literally magical databases and another about Omniscient Information Sources.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWe have consensus to act, is anyone willing to do the transplant?
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Pretty the Fast One has ordered "no change needed"
^Read that better. The unnecessary refinement was about YKTTW, not the transplant.
^^There is an alt-names crowner waiting for you.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI'm up-to-date on Hollers and haven't seen one.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Here. I am sure I sent a holler about that.

Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Is Police Hot Dog Database also gonna get YKTTW'd/split off?
Calling Omniscient Database.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI assume we need a YKTTW for the magical database here, right?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman^If that's the one that's "database of the supernatural", I'm willing to put it up.
Yes.
