I just want them to bring back the jokes and the harem antics, the last season just wasn't there and way too generic.

The new animation is going to take a little time to get used to, but definitely looking forward to a new season.

The Series has been well on its way with the Negima route of turning into an action series with Harem antics.

I say you might not like the rest of the series if this isn't to your liking.

The last season was a mess for other reasons, and the author even wrote the time travel kid story because it was all future Lokis fault the third season was bad.

One of the more creative ways to fix a poorly received season, I'll give him that.

I do hope they fix those character designs though, they are absolutely horrid. I mean they are so generic and emotionless.

Unless you mean change back to the designs from the first 3 seasons, then no, because the new designs will allow for the animators to be more creative and expressive.

And honestly, the new art fits the jiggly nature of the girls.

It’s the faces that are the problem, they look just horrid.

Not really, they’d don’t have the overly huge grapefruit sized eyes that kinda bugged me in the previous seasons. This is much closer tot he light novel art style in that’s respect.

Eyes are the problem, several characters went from Tsurime Eyes to Tareme Eyes and the Tareme does not fit their personality.

Also Rias now looks like generic light novel heroine number 8472 with the wrong color hair.

Sorry, I have to concur with Memers here. The new art style has almost convinced me not to bother with this new season.

I'm gonna try & not write it off based on 1 visual art & couple second preview. Optimism as they say.

Hopefully it looks better in the actual show.

Besides it wouldn't be the first time a potentially good show has a weird art-style.

Radically changing artstyles for sequels have never really worked, especially for downgrades, I think only Snafu managed to recover from it.

Its going to cover the one of the best fights in the whole Light Novel.

That alone is something I'm fine with and the softer art will allow for better fight animation.

Dont get your hopes up, the extreme changes and cheap looking designs make it highly unlikely that it will do that justice.

Optimism man.

Some spoilers for Volume 24 /a/ dropped this week.

Lucifer created Demonkind using Lilith the Mother of Devils. The Seventy Two strongest becoming the Houses. He made his own progeny via sex with Lilith

House Bael is against Vali and Issei becoming Maou Class Devils, so they have to rank at a certain point in the current tourney.

Koneko and her sisters dad is a human who was working for the House Nebiros to creste Super Devils. Their mon eho also worked with him wanted him to see value in their kids (Their relationship was lovers only) and left with them to make him realize how good their kids are, both died mysteriously later.

Hades has Lilith and has been creating Pure Devils for awhile, many of them being incredibly powerful and even a few surpassing Sir Zechs.

Dragon Cromm Craunch(spelling?) has surpassed Albion and Draig at the peak of their power, despite having only the mundane ability of fire breath and claws.

Primordial deities like Tartarus, Nyx, Erebus, etc being introduced likely for a sequel series. Hades trying to get Lokis daughter Hel to help him.

New weapons for Xenovia, Issei, and Rossweiss. Rossweiss is being forced to marry Vidar by the Norse gods.

Isseis grandpa is named Juzo and was a Buddhist. Closeted pervert like his grandson. He's a celebrity in Biddhist Heaven cause his grandson inherited his perversions. Helps Issei get several Oppai powerups.

THE Buddha arrives to aid Issei.

Heads up: Spoilers for Volume 25 have just been released. Ishibumi also announced that this volume would be the last one in the main series before he continues with Shin High School DXD this summer. The D×D sub thread on Reddit and the D×D wiki are specifically discussing the final volume.

Meanwhile, the new teaser trailer for Hero was released three days ago. While we're having a lot to discuss about the light novels, we'll probably have a lot more to talk about the anime season after it's April 10 premiere.

Why write a sequel series though?

Because the torunament is the last arc of the current story. Setting up for Shin.

Now how many anime seasons will that take to catch up…

It willl be humorous seeing animated the ending with Isseis male harem of Vali, Kiba, Cao Cao, Sairaorg, Tobio, Dulio, Saji, and Riser fighitng each other over him.

Plus one of Hades pawns spawned from Lilith, Super Devil Baalberith, wants Issei to be his father(chichi), while fellow spawn Verrine thinks he means breast(chichi).

So, about Rossweisse and Vidar. Vidar revealed that he actually didn't want to be married to Rossweisse because she isn't honest about her feelings, so he willingly allowed her to be with Issei once they finished their engagement challenge. Then, Rossweisse and Issei get engaged. As such, that might bring some similarities to when Issei fought with Riser to nullify the latter's engagement to Rias in volume 2. Thoughts?

Also, I know this was announced earlier this month but the first Hero is going to have an advance screening at the Shinjuku Piccadilly theater in Tokyo on March 30.

Update (March 30): The second Hero trailer has been released, Crunchyroll is simulcasting the series and Funimation is, as usual, giving it a simuldub. The first episode's already screened in Japan ([1]).

Episode 1 of Hero is actually recap that retconns the second half of Bor N.

So the actual first episode is next week.
