Just a reminder. Always pull these as soon as you see them.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyOK then. So any ideas for a new image?
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Sometimes the image is worth cropping out, but not in that case◊.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. Two options I found. Manhattan might be good since his powers being a story breaker is a major part of the story.
The third one sounds like it could work.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.As much as I like the Watchmen panel, the mind-exploding absurdity of Superman towing planets by a chain can't be overlooked.
Actually, that's superboy.
I remember it saying so wherever it was I found the picture. Also, you can kind of tell that he's a little skinnier and less muscular than normal Superman.
Vote for Superboy.
You know what? Hard to argue that "strength to move powers" isn't story breaker.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Heh, I'm reminded of this recent page from Axe Cop, honestly. I mean, "global bad guy atomic bomb"? Hell, the alt text lampshades the hell out of it.
Only problem is that the panel in question is a continuation of dialog spanning several prior panels, and as such probably wouldn't work as an image without some reworking... I dunno.
Moon◊I'm all for the towing planets picture.
The Dr. Manhattan picture is a little too bland for me, with him showing off only what would appear to be telekinesis and hand beams. (Even though he's capable of so much more, it's kind of hard to portray his true storybreakerness to the extent the Superboy/man picture does.)

This Penny Arcade strip is another option. Probably just the second 2 panels.
The thing about comics is that it's hard to tell how much time has passed unless it's specified.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.I like the Superboy pic, precisely because of how over-the-top it is.
Also, I'm not really fond of editing a webcomic to add an extra "teleport" panel to it. I don't think the artist would appreciate us editing his work (which is a wholly different matter from using his work).
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! The only one of those Penny Arcade ones that works is the third, since the first two don't mention anything about the egg he's showing as the punchline.
Moon◊As I understand it, we're nut supposed to use all three panels. So I had to make due. If you'd like to email the Penny Arcade guys and get permission to use full copies of their work edited for format, go for it.
Fight smart, not fair.Actually, I don't think any of the proposed images work. The trope is about how sometimes characters have powers that theoretically should let them take of conflicts a lot faster than what would make for a good story.
While we have a lot of great pictures of incredible superpowers, it's missing the element of "This could potentially solve any problem that comes up", mostly because they're missing any sort of conflict at all. It's not enough that they show powers that could stop a conflict, since the conflicts in question could have nothing to do with those powers.
ETA: The Penny Arcade one could work, but I don't quite get it until rereading it a few times. Also, a minor, humble suggestion: in the event you guys need to host images, might I suggest imgur.com? It's a lot more reliable, doesn't take forever to load with random pop-ups, and has a pretty simple interface that lets you do a lot (include folders and slideshows for multiple images).

I think the Superboy one could work in the "solve the plot" department from the point of view that a story about all the sentient species in a dying galaxy trying to come together to escape it (or succumb to cruelty and debauchery) would be a fascinating story... which Superboy just nixed by harmlessly chain towing them somewhere else.
Actually, thinking more about it makes me realize Superboy could have averted his own backstory if he'd been alive then!
So we have a Harry Potter Fauxtivational Poster. That's against the rules as is clear on the page itself. Now how to replace it... I can easily see a superhero comic book filling this void due to the fact that comic books have text that can explain why the power breaks the story, and due to the fact that superheroes have a vast variety of powers that would break many kinds of plots in cross overs. Any idea?
