I dislike both.
Fight smart, not fair.Yeah, I'm not crazy about either of them myself.
I don't care much, though the new one is more legible.
I'm curious if a pair of twenties would be a good version? Probably not.
Fight smart, not fair. There's a panel here that might work.
This could as well◊, I don't even know what it's from.
Or perhaps if we got the Deviant's permissiona nd removed the motivational poster frame from this◊.
Or if we got permission from the guys who this poster◊ belongs to.
Or one of these◊ two◊ Fruit Ninja pictures.

I have a message from another time...How about a double frame picture, showing what a non-critical hit does, and then showing what a critical hit does?
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Technically you only need the one 20 and second roll to beat the target's AC. Even then the first 20 guarantees a hit even if the confirmation roll is failed and some editions don't ask for confirmation rolls and where was I going with this?
@Enlong: I like the d20 poster.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelClock is set.
One random picture with "critical hit" written on it is more or less the same as another. Out of those suggestions, the 8-bit theater panel and the current image atleast have the damage increase part featured instead of just the trope name, even if it's only as text.
Proposing a pic. I don't know its source (found it long ago on a random Imageshack album), and it's also a depiction of Groin Attack, but I find it hilarious.

Oh man the 9999 (FF style Damage Cap) just sells that.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!That one's much better, since you actually see what's going on.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.I would suggest a quote from Persona 4 as a caption. "Critical Hit to the nads"
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!The last one is the only one that maybe shows the trope. It's still far below the critical kick pic.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.Supporting post 12.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerThe kick in the balls for 9999 is best so far.
So, do we go for the @12 picture? (I say yes)
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI like it, especially for being a combination of "real" (cartoon tho) and "video game".
Hm, yeah, the "critical hit to the nuts" is For Massive Damage.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. This trope is for critical hits as a random mechanic. If you're getting a crit because you're hitting in a specific body part, that's not actually this trope; it's just For Massive Damage.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Well, the random part is the technical way of letting you know you've hit a certain body part that hurts a lot more. In many games where you can aim for different parts of the body, you'll have a greater (but still random) chance of a critical hit. For Massive Damage is a 100% Critical Hit for aiming in such a place (though the trope is wider than just that, and as listed, an index far wider).
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.Critical kick pic and the Persona 4 caption for me.
Alt account of Angeldog 2437.I'm a little leery of it, but the nad kick and Persona 4 caption are up, potholed, and tagged. Locking up.
The image was changed from this◊ to this.◊
In any case, I think the new image suffers too much from the on-screen text, so I vote to change back.
