Ok, crowner time to decide if we want DarthWiki. So Bad Its Horrible or not.

Here it is

while I am rather embarassed by my overzealous defense of the namespace and some of the stupid shit I said on the subpages talk, I still oppose because of what everyone else has said: Its Fun To Read (not than that matters), the examples have reasonable standards, it doesn't bleed over the rest of the wiki etc... and the "It causes conflict!!!" argument doesn't hold up since there hasn't been an edit war in- well actually, I have every subpages on my watchlist except Voice Acting, Fan Fic and Wrestling (which I swear is written in another fucking language or something) and I can't remember the last time there has been an edit-war on any of them. It's been that long.

Exactly! I spend a lot of time on Fanfic, which is probably one of the biggest if not the biggest (Live Action TV, Film, and Video Games are the other big three), and the last time we saw anything that could even be considered an Edit War was a minor argument over the Kanashii No Imi entry in July 2011... before that entry was cut altogether due to not really fitting the criteria, and hence sparking edit wars.

I'd like to keep it because its fun to read those examples. Bile Fascination and all. Given what I've read in this thread, its under control and not causing problems.

Well, the crowner so far seems to be overwhelmingly opposed to scrapping this.

If it continues in that opposition, I would at least like to see a link to this thread in the article for SBIH, whether as a code comment or as something visible to non-editing readers, so that later readers and editors wondering why we have this have easy access to something with various reasons and might be less inclined to create another thread for it.

For gushing we have. Needs More Love, Awesome Art, Awesome Moment, Awesome Music, Gush About Characters You Like, Gush About Shows You Like, Gush About Writing You Like.

For hating we have "So Bad Its Horrible" which isn't really hating, just documenting stuff that was bad an failed because of it. "Wall Banger" which is basically crowning moment of stupid. And "Dethroning Moment Of Suck" which is basically personal wallbanger. I want to get rid of dethroning moment of course but gushing far outweighs bashing, as darth wiki only has two actual bashing pages. Everything else is Just for Fun. I don't get why the loss of one gushing page even inspired this thread now that I think about it.

This was only six months ago. Last time the vote hit -22 in favor of keeping SBIH (and the other "complaint pages"), with people pretty much in unanimous agreement that there was nothing wrong with it (beyond a couple people complaining that it was "too negative" for their tastes). Any chance we can get lower than that?

That crowner never officially ended, either. Now you're just duplicating it.

I think that this page deserves to stay. Of all the Darth Wiki pages this one is the most organised, and has a clear standard of how to add new entries.

And it's off topic, but I'd support giving Dethroning Moment Of Suck the cut because it serves no real purpose; it's essentially just Troper Tales-slash-Forum complaining, given the flimpsy justification that it's a subjective article. It serves no real purpose that isn't already coverd by either this page or Wall Bangers and so it should be cut instead of this page.

Ah, glad of the trend this thread is taking. And yes, I agree that we should make it clear somewhere just WHY we're keeping this page.

Odd there've been eight 'yea' votes even though only two people have actually spoken in favour of this motion. I don't like people voting without giving reason.

I've never seen a reason to cut this, but I thought that a crowner was the best way to show what people think, so I created it.

I thought that a crowner was the best way to show what people think...

Well, you were certainly right there. As stated before, a lot of arguments over whether or not to cut this page have previously come up, and they've all been overwhelmingly "don't cut it". I think that the page has a considerable appeal to Bile Fascination, independent of bashing/gushing.

I was slightly unnerved when Horrible.Web Original got cut, but it's hard to complain about the removal of a page that did so much to attract flaming and vandalism. What it probably should have had was a rule against examples bashing creators; the "Authors" subpages of Horrible.Fan Fic were deleted for that reason, though those didn't cause nearly as much trouble on this wiki.

Perhaps the Web Original section could be reinstated with a stern warning that the examples should not be about creators and not mention their real names or screen names, not even in binary code. Perhaps this is just a terrible idea.

The primary issue is that a lot of the examples were random videos people made about nonsensical things in their lives, and really couldn't be defined without discussing the person. I vote that we at least lay down some stricter criteria about what's allowed on before we create the page again.

Well, it's pretty clear where this is going and what people think. Hollering to close the crowner.

There were never reasons to cut the trope, but if those who want to cut it were not convinced enough the crowner has proved that they are minority.

Yep, pretty clear what folks want, I'd say. Hmm...I should know this, but how do we decide when a crowner has officially ended?

Usually, a crowner is open for about three buisiness days.

Come to think of it, would I have the go-ahead to make said edit myself?
