Examples dissolve into complaining: Hate Dumb

Just look that the mess, especially with the examples and people just leaving their annoyance with different aspect of show critics. Just leave it with the main description and cut the rest.

I'm for cutting this, or merging it with fan dumb and making "detractor dumb" a redirect to fan dumb. Most of these categories were already on fan dumb before someone got it in their mind to split the pages and I fail to see the value in keeping it around. We should be keeping the number of "describe poorly founded opinions" type pages to a bare minimum. They are not part of the wiki's mission. We're the trope site, not the fandom/detractor site.

You probably should remove Fan Dumb while you're at it...

Considering all the complaining involving this and Fan Dumb around the wiki, it's quite boggling that that these aren't Flame Bait or Permanent Red Link Club members yet.

I think TRS went over Fan Dumb before.

Cut Fan Dumb's common variants and shorten the main descrip, and we're done.

Or make them example-less, or trim the examples heavily and then lock 'em.

I think its ok as is I mean many people who dont watch will pull out assumptions of works that are clearly not correct and various other things (hell even tropes get this.)

Holy shit that's a long-ass page for one lacking examples.

I think it could safely be merged with Fan Dumb, along with a redirect to reflect this.

As to whether Fan Dumb itself is worth keeping, well, we'll need a new thread for that...

Fan Dumb is moderately well curated and doesn't really attract as much negative attention as you'd assume. Mentions of individual works get reverted, as does excessive editorializing.

Hate Dumb has never been given the specific attention that Fan Dumb has, and so it's become a sprawling mess. But it ought to be cleaned up and given a chance before cutting is proposed.

Neither page has overly specific examples, really, besides nondescript mentions of Caustic Critics in Hate Dumb.

Clean up but not cut. I swear nearly every discussion I go to everyone wants to immediately cut them.

I say remove the subtypes of both pages. Why? They are rife with opinion myopia, a few are natter magnets, and they reflect poorly on the pages. The main descriptions of both pages are clear enough.

I think the pages are fine, though they could stand to use some trimming. Short descriptions should be good enough, not the long essays that some of them are.

I'd rather the page be left alone, it's supposed to document the various types of haters you'll run into in an anti-fandom.

The problem with this page is that it's potholed a lot.

And every single time it's potholed, I want to punch the person who potholed it, because potholing it always is complaining and insulting. Same with Fan Dumb. Tv tropes should not be every person's personal bitch platform (Yes, I know it's ironic that I bitch about this).

The page itself... Is okay, but I feel it really just rambles around too much. It's like listening to someone who enjoys talking because they get to listen to their own voice.

Agree with this. Complaining about fandoms or hatedoms doesn't have anything to do with our mission as far as I can tell.

I don't think we should delete the individual types. I believe compressing their descriptions and chainsawing annoyingly insulting potholes should do the trick. Oh, and lock the page, so it doesn't become everyone's potholing bitchingfest.

A page lock doesn't do anything against potholing. You'll need a pothole cleanup for that or a page faux-redlinking.
