Thought it was a fun little article myself, not sure where all the dislike is coming from.

I'm not getting the issues with the article.

It presents some very true pros and cons about each game and tries to be objective. While I disagree on how big or minor some of these things are they're still legitimate points.

The Zelda one is funnier.

[up] Yeah, I like that one a lot since it does bring up some legitimate complaints.

I'd love to see them do Metroid next; there's eleven games, all of which have their own flaws and good points. Plus, we've got the ridiculous-yet-awesome Metroid Prime Pinball. evil grin

[up] I have a feeling that will be next. It's one of the few long runners they haven't done that's notable enough. Unless they decide to do Sonic but somehow I doubt they'll do that.

I like how there are valid criticism you can throw at Super Mario World (the cape let you skips 90% of the levels, slow auto-scrolling levels that are a complete bore etc) and yet all these guys could find was uhhhhh some games have better grafix and cape is not as cool as tanooki D:.

lus, we've got the ridiculous-yet-awesome Metroid Prime Pinball.

pffft, Galactic Pinball's where it's at.

Actually, the article wasn't so bad. It tried to be realistic and reasonable with its points, contrary to what the title might have you expect.

Not bad. A few of their points was "...Really?" But fairly good.

I agree with a bit of it, though. Then again, I have yet to find a new Mario platformer that has topped Super Mario 64, IMO, so eh.

Sonic could work (Although that one could get ugly). Megaman could work, but they'd have to only do a specific series; otherwise, there's just too many games. Pokemon could work if you did included the third games of each gen and included remakes.

However, I'm still hoping for Metroid.

[up] I'm kind of afraid to see the Sonic one. From many of the things I've seen people can go really in depth with their hatred for those games.

I'm not really sure if I want to see Megaman since that would have to be several segments otherwise some portion of the fanbase would be annoyed.

Pokemon...eh that one could get ugly too.

Metroid and Megaman are their best bets.

It made some pretty good points, but it did a hack job on the Galaxy games. Their "worst" reasons were "It's not in HD," and "It's a sequel," despite most reviews of the original praising it for its visuals, and the second one is almost universally considered the best of the 3D Mario games.

Not a bad article at all, it's a nice overview of the main Mario games.

I like this from their Zelda article;

Link to the Past is only the worst Zelda ever if you have a pathological hatred of perfection. The only possible downside to Ltt P is that if you were introduced to the Zelda series with this game, you might find it harder to go back and play Zelda 1 and 2 after you've already experience this huge leap forward. Seriously, we can’t think of anything harsher to say.

[awesome]

Skull Woods was my least favorite part of the game. Usually just skipped straight to Thieves Town to make it less terrible.

Why it’s the worst Mario ever: Um, let’s see… the levels are pretty short and not as packed with secrets as the SNES launch game that followed. Hmm… some of the final levels are too hard, and there’s no save system, which is frustrating with a game as long as SMB 3 (unless you use warp whistles).
Seems legit.

Seriously though, this article is quite idiotic and random.

Apparently renaming it to "All Mario games has their flaws and good sides" wasn't journalismy. Journalistic. Journaltastic. Retarded.

Galaxy didn't have the superior life system from 64 and Sunshine, that's criticism enough.

As for 64,I'm the only troper I know who hasn't complained about the dated camera

Sunshine can be noted for no true power-ups

But I do agree with the analysis on Lost Levels
