Yeah, the name 'Christianity' didn't get attached to Jesus' followers until later. Jesus and the disciples were raised Jewish (with the exception of Saul/Paul) and most likely strongly self-identified as Jews.

Except for 4/1/2011. That day lingers in my memory like...metaphor here...I should go.Nope, Paul was a Jew and identified as such. In fact he sarted as a fanatic persecuting the Christians before his own conversion. Luke is usually I Ded as a Greek follower of Paul and noone's entirely certain who wrote the gospel of John. it used to be thought that it was the same guy who wrote Revelations, John of Patmos, but that's mostly fallen by the wayside as a theory.
Trump delenda estYeah, Paul was a Pharisee. IIRC his mentor was one of the leading figures of the Sanhedrin.
EDIT: here

In addition, Paul was a Roman citizen.
They used to be referred to as just another Jewish sect, or followers of The Way.
Happiness is zero-gee with a sinus cold.Ah, shows what I know! It is nice to learn more things, though.

Why am I not surprised that they did this.
It's been pointed out that Christianity didn't really "leave" Judaism, or become its own sect, until waaay after Jesus died. Christians worshipped in synagogues for a long time; it's kind of like the ambiguity today of whether Mormons are Christian or if their theology is so different they should be counted as a seperate thing.
Then theres the Messanic Jews who believe in Jesus as the son of God, but still call themselves Jewish. Confusion Ensues!

I'm baaaaaaackIt's all variations on Mosaic law in the end.
I'm a skeptical squirrelAh, apart from the Messianic Jews most Christians don't follow Mosaic law that closely - they don't keep kosher, don't have beards, pretty much ignore biblical cleanliness laws, etc.
Yes, but hardline Christians and Moslems follow the same tenets about sex, the role of women, abortion, homosexuality, and religious law. The small details are peculiar to each denomination, and don't really affect the whole.
I'm a skeptical squirrelLest we forget the Ten Commandments being a huge unifying factor.

You exist because we allow it and you will end because we demand it.Funny how so many denominations are based around these trivial opinions about Jesus. Mormons are on the outs with Christians because they don't factor in the Trinity.
I'm a skeptical squirrelAlso don't Mormons believe Jesus was a man who became God?
Trump delenda estTechnically there's a number of reasons the Mormons are separate, but they seem to consider Jesus and God separate celestial/cosmic entities.
I somehow doubt the other Churches are thrilled about the idea of canonizing the Book of Mormon.

Don't forget that Jesus himself was a Jew, you know.
