In Our Hearts and Hooves: A My Little Pony Crossover

Discussion thread.

The Multiverse is a big place. So big, in fact, that saying it's merely "big" is a gross understatement. A better word to describe the dimensions of the place would be something like "neverending" or "infinite". But that's more a matter of semantics than anything else. The Multiverse is infinite, and within this infinite space everything is possible, though nothing is probably. Probability has no place amongst the swirling chaos that serves as the space between worlds.

Within this space of possibilities, there is a world. A young world, in the grand scheme of things, only a few thousand years old. Presided over by a pair of goddesses, the inhabitants of this realm live in peace, save the occasional monster attack. They go about their days with smiles on their faces, the sun and moon smiling down upon them. War is virtually unheard of and a sort of natural serenity pervades every nook and cranny.

This is Equestria. And it is pony country.

Long ago, the world was held in the grip of a cruel tyrant, a creature of chaos and hate who called himself Discord. A fitting moniker, to be sure. The ponies suffered under his reign as the god treated them as his toys and nothing more. This was a dark time in their history and one that seemed much longer than it was in actuality. Then, they came. The Princesses, Celestia and Luna, came to oust Discord from his throne. The sisters brought to bear the Elements of Harmony, artifacts of old and powerful magic. The Elements sealed Discord away in stone for years to come.

Over a thousand years later, the Element's hold on Discord broke and the god was free to reign once again. But it was not to last. A group of six ponies who had been named as the bearers of Harmony came to face him. He stole their magic away tricked, them turned them against each other. But in the end they prevailed and soon Discord was sealed away once more. But this was not the end.

In his final moments, when he knew that all was lost, the tyrant king gathered his power and cast one last spell. It was a subtle magic, one that survived even after his defeat. It wormed its way into the bones of the world, slowly chipping away at the walls that surrounded this land of ponies. It is only now that his plan comes to fruition. The world will fall and, eventually, provide the key to his release.

The walls are coming down. Other places, other realities are beginning to seep into this place of ponies. Heroes and villains of all shapes and sizes, their forms twisted and warped to match those of the natives. A mighty warrior becomes a burly stallion, brimming with indignation at this sudden change in form. The schemer becomes and ratty-looking unicorn, eyes wide at the opportunities that this new land will provide.

And so our story begins.

And there we are. In case you haven't already figured it out, this is a crossover RP set in the universe of My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic. Not a very good idea, all told, but hopefully we can make it work.

You can play as either a canon pony or a character from another series entirely. OC's aren't allowed, though background ponies and Heroic Mimes are perfectly fine. If you can see the hypocrisy there, then you get a cookie. Rules are as follows:

• No godmodding, autohitting, ghosting, any of that nasty business.
• No overpowered peeps. Anything over weight 4 is probably a bad idea, though exceptions can be made.
• You can have as many characters as you like, but try not to overextend yourself. Don't need to crowd the RP.
• Don't take this too seriously. We're RPing brightly-colored cartoon ponies, there's no need for srs bsns here.
• Don't be a dick OOC. I can't stress this enough.

Probably a bad idea to pick Twilight, since I'm the GM and such, but Twilight is best pony so y'alls can suck it.

• Name: Twilight Sparkle
• Series of Origin: Friendship Is Magic
• Pony Breed: Unicorn
• Appearance: I used to wonder what friendship could be...◊
• Personality: Twilight is a scholar, first and foremost. Learning is her passion and there is little that can pry her away from a good book. She cares deeply about her friends, however odd they may seem, and will always go out of her way to help them should the need arise. She prefers to keep things organized and is more likely to plan and analyze whatever situation she may find herself in rather than charging in headfirst. When her plans fall apart, however, she tends to get panic and make decisions that more often than not hurt rather than help.
• Abilities and Equipment: Twilight is exceptionally talented at magic, having a variety of spells at her disposal from the basic telekinesis inherit to all unicorns to the ability to cause spontaneous mustache growth. She is bonded to the Element of Magic, though that particular accessory is currently under the care of her mentor, Princess Celestia.

• Name: Burns-His-Foes
• Series of Origin: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
• Pony Breed: Unicorn
• Appearance, pre-pony: The Argonian Archmage of the College of Winterhold, Burns-His-Foes wears a dark blue fur-lined robe with a hood, has alligator-like scales, and bony notches covering him. He has feathers swept back on his head, and his hands usually have some flames dancing about them. (I'll upload a picture later.) Like most Argonians, he doesn't facially express emotion.
• Appearance, pony: Burns-His-Foes◊ still has his green coloration, as well as the Archmage's robes and ebony boots. His Cutie Mark is a fireball, for obvious reasons. The fire has moved to his horn, swirling around and providing illumination. He doesn't use his face to express emotion, instead relying on body language. He is unaware of the fact he isn't conveying his emotional state.
• Personality: Burns-His-Foes constantly seeks attention due to the fact that nearly nobody recognizes him in Skyrim, referring to him as "You, over there" and other such non-descriptive monikers. This is despite his magical aptitude, martial skill, and saving the world no less than twice. If you forget his name after he has done you a large favor, saved your life, or other heroic deeds, expect an explosion of rage to come descending upon your head.
• Abilities and Equipment: Master of Destruction, Restoration, and Alteration. A skilled Alchemist. He can also use Dragon Shouts, which will make interaction with Spike a little awkward.

• Appearance, pony: Well built, but not a muscled hulk. Grey Coat, spiky Brown Mane, cutie mark is this.◊
• Personality: Here's where I run into difficulty, as Derek is the only Heroic Mime in Modern Warfare 3, I must make shit up. Professional, reserved, a Determinator, intelligent and quiet, but not shy.
• Abilities and Equipment: Derek wears the body armor as shown in the picture, except changed to fit his new form. Derek is a Delta Operative, and is therefore trained in many different fields, from blending in with crowds, to squad level tactics, to honest-to-the-Princesses spy work. Comes equipped with an ACR 6.8 with Hybrid Sight, M14 EBR with scope, M9, 4 Nine-Bangs and 4 M67 fragmentation grenades.

One character is for fun, the other combat.

It would go: CloudCuckooLanderPartyPlannerBakerBestestFriend! What the heck would a Cloud Cuckoolander’s cutie mark look like? I’ll bet it could be a cuckoo bird! Maybe it would have a cloud, too to better illustrate the point. Or maybe it would have a…what’s that? *approaches the monitor* Hey! *knock knock* How’re you doing that? I see fingers hitting a plank and then words are coming onto the screen. Is it some kind of magic? I have a friend who does magic, her name is Twilight Sparkle and she’s my bestest friend in the whole, wide world. OMIGOSH! There was this time when she first came to Ponyville, and I bumped into her and I went *GASP* because I had never seen her before so I figured that she must be new because I know every pony in Ponyville and- *Iris Out* But I’m not done yet! I didn’t get to tell the whole story about how me and Twilight met…
  Pinke Pie is normally a bright, cheerful pony whose always quick with a joke or to light up your smoke to throw a party. She has a scary alter-ego known simply as Pinkamena◊ that manifests when she hits the Despair Event Horizon.
• Abilities and Equipment: Pinkie Pie has mild reality warping powers, it is rumored that she can see the Fourth Wall, and her physiology adheres to the rules of cartoon physics. She is bonded to the Element of Laugher, though that particular accessory is currently under the care of Princess Celestia.

Anyways, this seems like a lot, but they'll all probably stick together and I have experience RP'ing as multiple characters simultaneously.

I'm honestly having trouble deciding between Rarity or another character from somewhere else. There's quite a few I'd like to play ponified. Okay, opinions, these are the options I'm considering.
