It's not a fan art. It's a webcomic.
Also, neither suggestion shows the whole dress.

Aside from "I don't like the art style" what, precisely, is the problem with the current page image?
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.It uses Comic Sans.
Jokes aside, yeah, I would prefer something else, too, but there's no clear reason to change the current picture.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.Using Comic Sans is a dire shortcoming.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Actually...
That typeface is all-caps, though the weIRd CAMeLCAse looked unprofessional anyway.

New theme music also a boxSoo... Collage?
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.I don't think this needs a collage. I think some of the images are better than the current one, but Raso's is a little NSFW. It looks transparent. I can see her panties through it.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickYeah I noticed that dress is either oddly tight or simply transparent.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman. This isn't just because I chose the current image when I made the page. I don't feel it's a good idea to use "I think this is better" as a reason to replace a page image. This goes double now that we have a thread limit for these forum sections. I think even Eddie or Janitor stated such a thing could just create a needless revolving door on pages as people find pictures they think work better on a page.
It is far better to note something wrong with the picture in terms of illustrating the trope. So if the current picture doesn't really show it, then let's get some reasons why.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Well, unless we're talking about higher-res version, etc. But that's not what you meant, and I'm nitpicking.
Yes, we noted that up there that there's no clear reason to replace. That being said, Rodney's decomicsansificated version seems like an acceptable polishing.

The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.Oh no, touching up is fine. I meant replacing with another picture entirely needs a better reason than "I think this is better".

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Where is it transparent? are you sure you're not confusing her panties with a ripple in the fabric of her dress? Besides, if you want to play the NSFW card, the girl's nipples are showing through in the current picture.
Personally, I'd prefer to replace this one with something with a more polished art style(and weren't we wanting to avoid "let's do better" threads with no suggestion specifically?). Both of Raso's are good, as is the vintage one.

Yeah, unwritten rule number one: follow all the unwritten procedures. - CamacanWhy do people hate Comic Sans so much anyway?
Thanks.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan."and weren't we wanting to avoid "let's do better" threads with no suggestion specifically?"
I mean even with suggestions. Again, it still leads to just threads that are "I like this picture better. I want it on this trope page instead of the current one", when the current pictures are serviceable. So again, the current pic has to be not that good at showing the trope, not just inferior in the mind of a troper or two.
As for Comic Sans, the arguments against it are mainly when it's used in things like textbooks or work presentations, not actual comics.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. No, because of its overuse, Comic Sans is frowned on (by typography nerds and others...) regardless of context :)
Agree, though. The current image gets extra points on principle, IMO.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I can see both sides of the argument. On the one hand, if an image can be improved, I'm inclined to think it should be. On the other hand, we want to do everything we can to prevent Image Picking from getting clogged up with threads where people want to "improve" an image by replacing it with one from their favorite show.
I think if a thread is started for a good (but different) reason, or we're choosing among alternatives, totally, subjective tastes influence people's choice. But it feels really lawyerly to bring something in on trumped-up charges and convict it for something else.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. We've only got 389 threads open, with a cap of 1000. I think having to bring a suggestion to the party is setting the bar high enough.
