Slender Pony headcanon.

Slender Pony/Mane in my vision are not just Slender Man but also fusion of creatures like Silence from Doctor Who or Tall Man from Chzo Mythos.

They appear as really tall and slender ponies of unknown gender (some times they male or female shape). They look like wearing black suit or coat with mostly red and white element, what some times is real clothes and some times part of their bodies. Their natural coat color can be white, gray, brown or black. Head can range from blank to real pony face (depending on pony seeing it), many times it have deformed, nightmarish features. Manes and tails are optional, when those are present they usually take tentacle or hand like forms, those can come out of any part of body. Some may have horn or wings.

They have super physical abilities, combat tentacles, telekinesis, teleportation, other magical powers, mind manipulation, influence on any recording device ability to extend it's limbs and ability to attack/control lighting or fire an. Not all of them have every power, only most powerful. Weaker ones can be separated by two types. One "physical" type rely on strength, agility, speed and it's extending combat limbs. Other "magical" type rely on it's magic powers, mostly on mind manipulation (like memory alteration, mind rape, mind control) and magical attacks.

Some Slender ponies are coming from other dimension, other are created by something and some are ponies turned into those monsters. Their masters are some kind of Cosmic Horror from other dimension with unknown intention toward this world. Slender ponies can turn pony (or other creature) into their minions. Those can obey their master command and help in their plans. Those minions may not have given any powers beyond those similar to Slasher Killer abilities, but some times can be immortal or turn into undead (zombie or ghost). They usually covers their bodies with various outfits or at least their faces.

They also have cult worshiping them across world, what they may or not created them self but they using this order.

Slender ponies have unknown agenda. Most known encounters with them are just stalking. They fear powerful beings like Celestia and avoid them.

Okay, back to Equestria after that moment in Griffon history. The Pegasi's flight to the hills created quite the stir, and shook up the already acceleratingly tense political atmosphere among the herds. Most notably, by tipping a religious balance in Equestria, in a time when religion, magic, and the legitimacy of rule where so intertwined that they was little to no differentiation, and when the greater pony culture was trying to discover what it was, what it wanted to do, and how it would operate in this new situation. To understand the ensuing domino effect, one must look closer at the West at that time, which was not as unified at it is now. Back then, while Manehattan was the most powerful and influential city, it was not without competition. Fillydelphia, just to the South, was just as old and nearly as strong, and while the two cities operated in harmony and even unity, there was the constant elephant in the room: in the end, the region simply could not sustain two major powers so close together, and one would have to dominate the other. The issue was not entirely power politics, however: as I've mentioned, the Night Worshippers were not in a single large organization, but rather splintered sects. One sect had become very powerful in Manehattan and its tributaries, however: "White Wyrms" they were called, and they held a complex theology heavily influenced by Orthodoxy. To the South, though, the traditional "Stars" held control, and while these groups did not directly clash or even show hostility towards the others, they created a cultural divide. When the Southern Hill ponies, firm Stars, harbored the Pegasi and took them in, after being directly attacked by the Wyrms, Manehattan sent troops South to invade and "punish" them for their "crimes", only to find Fillydelphians marching their own troops North. Manehattan, demanding military access, refused to recognize Fillydelphia's sovereignty, arguing that they were the true owners of the West. Fillydelphia reacted, declaring war in outrage, and soon the small area along Skyward Lake between Fillydelphia and Manehattan was alight in war. The war was slow and painful, as neither side truly had the internal support to muster the troops necessary for a quick victory, but it was clear that Fillydelphia was losing- their troops were divided among minor sects and factions, their lands were threatening overthrow, and their military won only in mediocre defensive battles. Massive pressure was placed South, to the Hill ponies, for help, and eventually, after years, it arrived. The Hill Ponies, supporting the Pegasi with their own lands and food, used this as leverage, and threatened to withdraw their support if the Pegasi did not follow their commands. The Pegasi, now were very divided and fresh at this time, and not exactly eager to jump up and fight, but they realized what had to be done, and sent their able-bodied stallions and mares in tribute. The had no real leader to unite them against this or try and negotiate around it, as Crystal Globes had gone mad and fled upon his arrival to the Hills, and his family had completely lost control of the rest of the Pegasi, who were splintered and confused, and so they submitted. They trained for some time, and were armed, sent North as reinforcements in this rather pitiful struggle.

The Pegasi, although feeble in numbers, equipment, and experience, did have some specific advantages they now recognized. Speed, mobility, and flight, obviously, were huge, and for a brief window of oppurtunity, they had an advantage. And so they followed General Flare (Flare...Solar Flare), their elected strategist and leader, in a surprise attack on Manehattan, as Fillydelphia agreed to allow them to operate autonomously. Flare smashed through the few enemy forces he discovered, and easily outmanuevered and outflew the main enemy force, ignoring it in favor of the city itself. In the night, the Pegasi ambushed Manehattan, being able to ignore the walls and assault from above. Unfortunately, the attack was only partially successful- the garrison was large enough to drive them out, and the primitive keep proved defendable enough to protect the ruling Dusk family. However, the Pegasi did manage to wreak havoc on the city, setting fires across Manehattan and nearly burning the entire city to the ground, leaving it devastated. The government was near collapse, and many were considering accepting defeat, even if it meant paying tribute to Fillydelphia and accepting status as a minor power. That was when a collective force of Canterlot, Trottingham, and Germane ponies, all members of the alliance of the Red Council, offered Manehattan acceptance into the Red Council and foreign support...should the Dusks agree to convert themselves and the state religion to Orthodoxism. Desperate, the Dusks agreed, and the Red Council armies flooed South, easily driving out the Fillydelphians and sending the Pegasi fleeing back into the hills. The Duke of Fillydelphia and his closest vassals and their families were sent into banishment in the Hills of the Clouds, and a submissive puppet government was established in the city. Aid was also piled onto Manehattan, which was rising once again. However, in the mix-up, the Pegasi were somewhat forgotten- so inaccessible and isolated, and clearly ruled by the Fillydelphians, they were bound to die out or become a passive warrior class soon enough...right?

Speaking of the Pegasi, they underwent quite a lot of political change once their now-experienced and armed military forces returned to the Hills. The Hill Ponies and Fillydelphians, no longer backed by a strong army, had the tables turned on them, and their control over the Pegasi became a system of tributes, essentially serving as vassals to the Pegasi. Now free, the Pegasi promptly fell on one another, as they gathered around different factions vying for supremacy. Most notable are the Flares and the Crystals- the descendants of respective Solar Flare and Crystal Globes, and all the while, magic became less and less prominent, even shunned, only kept alive by the Crystals (and even then, it was mostly just weather experimentation and a few material experiments, and as those devolved into parlor tricks magic died out among the Pegasi completely). These various factions would struggle both violently and nonviolently, fed and supplied by the Hill Ponies as they built up their struggling little civilizations, isolated and nearly forgotten. The Red Council was satisfied with their exile, and Pegasi were attacked on sight within Equestrian borders. The might have been attacked, if the nation hadn't had bigger fish to fry; the Red Council, struggling for so long to find a direction which had been previously given by extreme external pressure by predators, armed with greater knowledge and power, and addicted to the taste of being on the dominant species, looked North hungrily. And they were all too aware that the Griffons were looking the same way Southward, as the two nation's borders crept closer together, and suspicion grew on the rise. What did the Pegasi matter, compared to that, as long as they stayed still and did't do anything- they were just backcountry thugs compared to the experienced, advanced, and disciplined Griffons. But they did hold a very good strategic position: close to Manehattan and Canterlot, very easily defended, perfect for flooding down onto the plains and taking the Southern Kingdoms from behind.

Pony SCP Foundation (well it's not really only pony institution).

It not only based on that Agency but other similar institutions like Mi B, Torchwood, UNIT.

Founded by Celestia in early times of her and Luna rule of Equstria after first encounter/adventure with Doctor Whoof (Celestia and Doctor have difficult relations in my headcanon). At first it was only pony institution in Equestia but now it's multi species, and worldwide secret organisation, supported by rules of other nations.

That organisation have database on any known artifact or creature, from Dis Qord to Elements of Harmony. When possible or/and necessarily agency will contain those. Each of entry in database like in original is assigned with code-name.

It have agents in any important organisation, structure or institution in the world. It co-operate with any government institution, but have higher authority. Only rules of countries (especially like Celestia) have higher authority than this organisation and it respond only to them.

Some great news for Pendulum the Clockpunk inventor.

I just found my Empire Armies Book...and the section about the engineers and their inventions is a great source of inspiration for him!

Listen to these names:

Leon Todmeister's Fantabulously Far-reaching Harquebus of Unforeseeable and Unperceived Bereavement...Von Meinkopt's Whirling Cavalcade of Death...Von Meinkopt's Micro-mainspring of Multitudinous Precipitation of Pernicious Lead...Pfielmann's Incendiary Projector of Explosive Misfortune...Meikle's Equine Effigy of Dynamic Locomotion.

Otherwise known as...the Hochland Long Rifle, Repeater Handgun, Repeater Pistol, Grenade Launching Blunderbuss and the Mechanical Steed respectively.

Anyway, I'm going to try and come up with similarly themed names for some inventions of his.

[up]I am not sure myself.

The thing is the way I envisioned Moonbeam had him looking pretty much looking like Shining Armor. Now I really don't know what would be a good alternative.

EDIT: Oh, and about what someone mentioned in the main thread about Big Rig racing. I personally don't think that fits his character.

[up]Honestly Timur your ideas are good.

I think you should at least try to start writing your fic. It will only get better with time, effort, and some editing.

[up][up]I actually kind of see Moonbeam having a really long mane that he doesn't take care of pretty well. Because of that he actually has to tie it back, possibly in a pony tail.

As for Thunder Lane being a base for Smoke Screen I'm going to have to disagree. I imagine Smoke Screen having a much shorter mane in a crew cut (maybe even a buzz cut). I also imagine him being a little "thicker" then your average Pegasus, since he much more well rounded strength wise, though this would make him a little less aero dynamic.

Now I haven't really been here when physical appearances have been brought up before, so I might be contradicting or repeating something that was already decided on earlier, but I always imagined Moon whenever you guys would talk about him as wearing large, Harry Potter style glasses. Preferably ones that don't quite fit him right and keep slipping down his snout when he talks, forcing him to frequently readjust them. I also imagine him with Scary Shiny Glasses whenever he gets serious, but that's nigh impossible to do in writing, to it's just a mental picture deal. Just throwing my own thoughts out there.

[up][up][up][up]Thanks! grin I'm actually planning on starting as soon as I get a single chunk of time to write, and I get over the flu (writing in-character is something I can't do while sick), although I haven't really gotten to the plot as of yet, or anywhere close (the current rants of mine have been ancient history) in this thread. I can't wait to get started, and I have even found an editor and several pre-readers who will help with editing.

Anyways, to continue on with my canon... https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13246473300A75160100&page=72#1777 (why do I do that when it's on the same page, I'll never know)

Focusing back on the main Equestrian and Griffonic focuses, a new era was dawning in both specie's politics- as the civilizations slowly matured, and as the two began to trade with one another, real roots were starting to take hold. It was also a time of geo-political change, particularly for the Griffons. In the Fringe, Audhumla, the Sacred Vale, had been using its massive influence for what could be considered more selfish needs: instead of watching out for the "Empire" and the species as a whole, it was attacking other Fringe cities for the Vale's own profit, and soon war broke out among the many city-states. The Vale declared Holy War on it's opponents, and, in one of the first instances, called for Griffonic Unity to save it from these "aggressors". The two main kingdoms it specifically called to were the rulers of Alfheim and Flock Heimdaller, who were in a state of immense competition. Alfheim, afraid it would be cut out and dominated by Heimdaller, dove in immediately, and quickly found the city states allying against them, as Heimdaller manipulated the tiny states into action. Playing a balancing game on both sides, Heimdaller exerted both its military and influence, and cities fell from both within and from invasion, depending on what made sense. As the 3 main Imperial States played subtly against one another, Heimdaller considered this the more important theatre, as surely enemy Griffons would be more of a threat than uncivilized and stupid Equestrians, even if their rulers wielded demonic magic. Just in case, the Griffons kept a decent military presence in the South, and worked hard at development and growth. Trade with the ponies was flourishing, and new developments in animal husbandry and cattlework led to massive herds of cattle that would graze in the large plains of what is now known by the ponies as "Muskhoovey". However, as the Griffon caravans parked outside of cities panning wares and making huge profits, they noticed something: there were quite a lot of ponies. And further more, they had larger families, matured faster, and worked better together than the Griffons, and the population was booming. The Heimdaller, worried that their reserves might not be enough, but not entirely convinced that they were a threat, decided to approach the Northern way and pit them against each other, mitigating the threat. So, when the King in Asgard heard of the Pegasi, he happily sent a team of explorers and diplomats far South, to the Hills of the Clouds. There, they opened negotiations among the developing Pegasi Tribes, and offered what seemed to be free aid, gifts, and generous trade agreements. The Pegasi, overjoyed, agreed, and they began to bicker over the aid as it flowed in. The Red Council, afraid of what might happen, tried to arrest the Griffonic caravans as they went South, but soon found that the Griffonic reserves were marching in force with them, and the unicorns backed down, unaware that the Griffons had, just months before, entered a war all too far away. The Heimdallers brought steel smiths, architects, and training seargants, organizers and flight trainers, who turned the Pegasus settlements along the Cloud Hills from a bunch of strangely-perched huts and small wooden buildings into a massive city carved into the cliffs and mountain. The Pegasi were taught the secret of making steel alloy, and some even were taken North for educating in those arts, and in others. They were even taught mining techniques, so that those Fillydelpians might work for wages in steel themselves, and that Cloudsdale could operate independently..even if the Griffons, were, say, in a war and unable to supply minerals across Equestrian lands. This massive construction project came with only a few meager costs: That the Pegasus tribes make peace and stop squabbling so violently, and that they end any remnants of magical practice (which was considered unbalanced, unhealthy, unholy, and impractical all in one by the Griffons). The Crystals were forced to stop pretending that they were in control, and they took the name of "Soar", accepting humility while they stored away their magical experiments in weather control and the manipulation of Cloud into solid material, ending the last practices of Pegasus magic. At first, many of the other, lesser flocks thought that such aid was entirely a massive waste in funds, but, as the grounded ponies began to look stronger and the war became more draining, it turned out to be one of the more potent and effective actions.

And, with that growing strength of the land ponies, friction began to increase in between the two species. Three main controversies in particular aggravated the situation. First was the question of the Muskhoovers, the nomadic pony tribes that now wandered, along with the growing herds of Griffon-led cattle, in the Northern plains, and had started to settle down along the Great River, and around various small lakes that served as watering holes for the herds and as Oases of sorts. The land had been under Griffonic claim, and while they permitted the Muskhoovers entrance, there was question of if they might, eventually, create unwanted competition. Luckily, settlements were not very reaching, due to the dry climate, although there was a strange practice that was beginning to change that: the ponies were using winter wheat in some areas, and winter wheat is perfect for dry farming. That was still in its early stages, however, and not entirely popular yet, so not a problem yet. Second, was the Griffon settlement in Northern Prance. Originally a splinter faction, this colony had been brought back under control by the Heimdaller, and now held a stretch of Northern Prance, stretching even into the East Valley, which was controlled by Hoofington. Although slender, underdeveloped and only lightly populated, it served as outposts that hung over Prance and the East as a threat, making them very uncomfortable. Third was the settlement of the Germanes, the "Wandering Ponies", previously nomads who had pushed ever Northward for a perfect spot to settle, eagerly looking for a home where they could expand without getting involved in petty Equestrian politics and would face no land restrictions. They settled right in the center and southern portions of what is now Germaney, which was under complete Griffon control. The main Heimdaller settlements were along the edges of Germaney, and they had been expanding rapidly towards the center themselves. While, in some instances, they worked together decently, mistrust and fear warped their relations, and there was questions of exactly what would happen: some Griffons called for the total evacuation of all ponies from the land, others called for cohabitation, others called for a compromise. In the end, a few areas were delegated as settlement areas, while others were only Griffonic land. Also, ponies were barred from entering any Griffon city or settlement without express permission, which was often impossible to obtain, and these laws tied the Germanes up, preventing them from truly settling and keeping them dependent on Griffonic traders that brutally kept prices ridiculously high. With these factors combined, it is easy to see why things were beginning to feel stressed, and why both Equine and Griffon alike kept an eye on their neighbor suspiciously, secretly arming for the invasion they believed the other was planning.

@ Foil Appearances.

Some good ideas put forth here.

As none of them have really been properly formed yet, I guess at this stage anything goes really. I'd love for everyone to throw their own ideas into the ring, so we can pick and chose the best ones.

The only things I myself know for sure are:

1. Big is big, with visible hooves.

2. Smoke has a buzz cut mane, military style.

3. Chuckles has freckles, to reinforce his youthfulness.

Anyway, I'm open to Moon having both a long unkept mane and glasses. Maybe not Harry Potter style ones...perhaps horn rims?

Actually, horn rims have been known to make a person look very 'striking'...and one thing Moon should be is striking.
