A new pic was recently decided on in Snakes Are Sexy. Two pics of Britney Spears' MTV Awards performance where she used the snake as a prop were submitted as options for that thread, but I and others thought they'd work better here. I for sure think either of them are better than the current pic. Agree/disagree?

Not really. She looks like she is carrying one, while the current picture shows it wrapped around her.

Hmmmm...I see your point. Well, here's some other options:

• A much better◊ shot of the character in the current pic.

I wouldn't mind switching to a pic that isn't so busy; it took me a couple seconds to figure out where the snake was. It blends into the background.

The head an tongue were to first things I saw.

When I saw the picture, I thought the body of the snake was part of her clothing. Snakes aren't usually striped like that.

I support switching it with the anime picture of the same character. It's much less busy.

Yup, that's the one. Much better.

That's not really the standard depiction of the trope. The snake there looks like another character that just happens to be using the girl as a way to get a better look at something. Not just the idea of a snake as a living costuming prop that this trope is really about.

Yeah, find a screencap of the snake without the goofy expression, and I'll support it.

Just noticed this thread and wondering if anyone has found a suitable screencap yet. Seems as good an example as any, and anyone who owns a One Piece DVD should easily be able to find a good image.

An alternative, that depicts the trope pretty well, could be this◊ 1887 painting of Lilith. There might be the reservation that any nude art can be Not Safe for Work in some countries, although considering it didn't raise an eyebrow in the Victorian Era, I'd have thought it could be given a pass.

I really love the second one—there's a strong emphasis with it being around her neck.

I'll put a couple of these into the crowner.

I like mustache Shiva.

I think the Shiva ones are just too busy. The snake isn't the first thing your eyes jump to in all of that. I'd rather one where it's more front and centre.

Fine, Jake the Snake Roberts is my choice if mustache Shiva is too busy. That's the second most iconic use of this trope on the crowner.
