I think that borrowing from the activity function from the Vanilla forums and modifying it into a banlist or simply editing the troper profile pages with an activity status (And in case of a ban, an explanation) would work wonders.
"My life is my own" | If you want to contact me privately, please ask first on the forum.Actually, FacePunch Studios (official forums of Garrys Mod) have a button on a user's post that you click and it brings up a log of activity relevant to the user, including bans.

"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelI like the Troper Profile idea. Although that would simply require to edit it all with the full reason and lock the page. The Discussion should be locked too, same with any current subpages.
Quest 64 threadWe have long been against a permanent Wall of Shame, but perhaps a temporary listing would be useful—something where entries are automatically deleted after a week or two.
I'm bad, and that's good. I will never be good, and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me.Another idea is to have a topic announcing why someone was banned. That way, it'd get lost after a while in general. Of course, it could be made so only MODERATORS and ADMINS could post in there?
Quest 64 threadSince the Hentai thread was deleted and everyone has to go to the fetishes thread can we get that more structured and less off-topic?
I mean seriously I post something about hentai and people are talking about how to deep fry a turkey... completely off topic and really I don't want to hear about that.
I just want to talk about Hentai manga and anime works and not other crap which will just get lost in the 200k posts in that thread, those do get entries on this site but we cant talk about them yet 18+ eroge games like Fate Stay Night (there are other V Ns that are even worse) get their own thread and forum? Double standard.
Please can we get the Hentai thread back, more structure so that posts arn't lost in the spam of crap or dividing the thread up into like 3-4 topics?

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Not a Mod, but I doubt that. I had to ask special permission for the Polyamory thread, we had to promise not to discuss sex (except in general) and Madrugada watched it very closely for a while. They're against NSFW stuff around here and there's a very good reason for it.
If I were to write some of the strange things that come under my eyes they would not be believed. ~Cora M. Strayer~Hentai is porn. Porn is NSFW. There's one place for it. I don't see why we need anything for the Hentai Mangas/Anime/Cartoons. At all.
Quest 64 threadSince you're repeating that argument, Raso, I'll point out that the main focus of any Visual Novel discussed is not any pornography it contains. That is like saying that LA Confidential is a porno because you can see a topless (dead) woman in one scene for approximately six seconds.
The Fetishes thread is just random crap, I posted something and it was ignored for a "CONFOUND THESE PONIES." post... [1] post that is completely unrelated to anything in the topic at all
And again Hentai are anime and manga works I dont see why we cant talk about them.... they have pages on this site and a lot of tropers that make them and maintain them. Censorship is bad.
Have you seen some of those V Ns that have threads?

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!I suggest you take that concern to a new topic on the Wiki Talk forum since here it will only derail.
@Raso: Last I checked, deciding what could and could not be done/said in a place you own was still all right. Anyhow, this is edging towards derail territory.
I suggest a private appeal to FE if you want to get your case heard.
If I were to write some of the strange things that come under my eyes they would not be believed. ~Cora M. Strayer~@Raso Do you also believe that we should be able to use the literature or visual art sections to discuss the pornographic illustrations in the recent issues of Hustler or Playboy?
I was more asking just Raso's opinion on it since he's lobbying for Hentai discussion.

To the last I grapple with thee; from hell's heart I stab at thee; for hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee. You'd have to ask someone with authority whether or not that is okay. I honestly have no idea.
If I were to write some of the strange things that come under my eyes they would not be believed. ~Cora M. Strayer~My view is this; We don't need a general hentai thread whatsoever. That's pretty much just another Fetishes. Now, discussing the actual item in its own thread is fine, while talking about non-porn stuff is preferable. That's the best way to do it.
Quest 64 threadAs long as its not posting pics and kept tastefully worded then yes.
The Hentai thread was just that a very lowkey discussion discussing art styles, certain works and hentai specific tropes. We do have a Hentai index and Hentai works are very different from others. Just place a warning saying possible nsfw discussion.
Many hentai are very much Porn with Plot take Honey Blonde which is a very touching romance story between a foreign girl and her childhood friend.
We have a thread for Virgin Roster seriously?
This is a direct question to todays moderation and the deletion of KNJ and Hentai discussions. people linked me here.... sorry/

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!While a valid topic for discussion, it's not what we're talking about here. Please take it to a new thread, Raso, and it can be discussed there. The mods are not entirely unreasonable, so an explanation and argument that you present may be taken into account provided it is not unduly hostile.
So, back on topic, I agree that we really need a more concrete statement of what is and is not acceptable as well as possibly the list of violators who were long standing members of the community.

Presuming they were of course. But agreed, Arha.
Yes. Unfortunately, it has to be done with care to avoid Rules Lawyer-ing.

Quest 64 threadSo, essentially, we want the mods to lay down more concrete rules, is that it?
I can get behind that.

"Stealing is a crime and drugs is a crime too BUT if you steal drugs the two crimes cancel out and it’s like basically doing a good."Isn't that what they should've done from the get go?
Didn't see the edit, read it in a tone which made it seem like you had a problem with that. Never mind.

Talks about art, misses all the points. The problem is that leads to rules lawyering, which is harder to spot.
Rules lawyering occurs anyway in the form of people hiding their unpleasantness behind a veneer of civility and is more difficult when there are more specific rules. Plus, as this thread indicates, average posters are unclear of what the actual boundaries are.
I think the first forum I used (can't remember what it was) had really detailed rules, the last of which was "if you try to abuse the rules system to justify trolling or dickishness, you'll get banned anyway."
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyYeah, an "and finally, rules lawyering is bannable" would cover it.
Fresh-eyed movie blog
I believe any historical suggestions of a "banned tropers" thread have been dismissed with (not unreasonable) arguments that it might serve as incentive for certain trolls. Wouldn't this run the same risk?
