Putting this here so it doesn't get lost:

Since we're running a bunch of filler plots, it's likely the vast majority of these will be short, and one will not be enough to cover a 3 month period. Therefore, how about we do this in a runoff sort of way? The plot with the most votes will go first. Then we'll have another smaller election for the one that will go second. Then that's removed from the ballot, we vote for third amongst the remaining options, et cetera. Obviously I'd have to limit the number of plots that can be run depending on how long the winners are, but that would ensure we'd have a pretty good queue of mini-plots to keep us busy in the meantime.
