What's wrong with Metalhead? I thought it was one of the better ones.
I don't think anything was necessarily wrong with it, but it fell victim to the Eight Deadly Words for me. That, and the concept didn't feel particularly new or interesting (which in this series can save an episode even if the characters aren't interesting).
Ceterum censeo Morbillivirum esse eradicandum. If you haven't heard, there's going to be book series of the show, with Volume One being published in September. It seems like it's going to be really interesting — if there's anything you can think would go on pages for the books when they're made, I made a sandbox for it. I also think that the literature page should be made at Literature.Black Mirror, because it is another page for the Series/, and 17 other pages, that already exist. The only objection would be that there was a book with the title released in 2002.
OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!So the new special called "Bandersnatch" was released and it is actually a Choose Your Own Adventure style film.
Well, "Bandersnatch" was fun, especially when I told the main character I was watching him through Netflix and then tried to explain what Netflix was.
But it's also incredibly sad that the only happy ending was the one where the main character himself dies.
After a lot of thinking, Bandersnatch could really branch into nearly every other episode of the show if it wants to. Interesting, well done, Brooker.
OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!depends on your definition of happy... There are several endings where more things work out than don't
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."Everyone: oh wow, this new Twilight Zone series is so great, you guys! Way better than that other sci-fi anthology that made people depressed 99.9% of the time!
Black Mirror: You lot rang? Right, hold my tea.

Well, Season 5 just came out a few days ago. But there are only three episodes this time for some reason.
Well, the first couple episodes definitely felt like more of what you'd expect from Black Mirror, but the third episode was rather different — it played out like an hour-long parody of Hanna Montana of all things.

Or more likely, why Miley Cyrus decided to utterly ditch the tween popstar look and go for pure shock factor with her whole "Wrecking Ball" performance: it felt utterly fake to her, and she secretly may have been looking to permanently lose that part of her fanbase in exchange for something new.
According to Variety, Season 6 is in early development.
The new season of “Black Mirror” is the first to emerge since creator Charlie Brooker and his creative partner Annabel Jones left their production company House of Tomorrow, which was backed by Endemol Shine Group, in January 2020. It wasn’t long before the pair set up shop under new production banner Broke and Bones, and Netflix quickly invested in the company through a mega deal in which it acquires parts of the business over a five-year period, for a sum that could reach $100 million.
Season 6, cool.
I watch the entire series with my girlfriend except a few episodes here and there, im surprise just three pages in this thead, I will expect a lot more about this series.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Season 6 of the phones bad TV show comes out today. Building up the recap pages as I watch.
I wonder if dropping an episode about the awful potential of using CG likenesses of actors the same week The Flash (2023) came under fire for it was intentional.
Just saw the first episode of season 6 called "Joan Is Awful" and so here's my opinion without spoiling it, it was fun, hilarious and insane. So far the season 6 is good.

“What is that? It's The Unknown!”I finished it. The season's last two episodes are period-piece supernatural, rather than futuristic scifi. Personal ranking:
- "Beyond the Sea": I am biased because my favorite eps are the ones where technology intersects with self-perception ("Entire History of You" and "Be Right Back" are the most like it) and I love a good Acting for Two. Just really solid tech-driven emotion here, even if it drags a little.
- "Demon 79": Really solid performances, and obviously playing on contemporary political issues.
- "Loch Henry": I don't really think we needed a "true crime BAD" episode but it was played out like any good BM gut punch.
- "Joan is Awful": Funny, topical, bit trite in the end.
- "Mazey Day": While not bad the 'twist' is atypical in that it doesn't come from the speculative fiction premise, and so there's some mismatch thematically.
Yeah, I agree with you about "Mazey Day". It's wasn't great and it felt out of place for me but "Joan Is Awful", "Loch Henry" and "Beyond The Sea" is pretty good imo. Although I don't know how I feel about "Demon 79" however.
Overall the season 6 is a bit better than season 5 imo.

“What is that? It's The Unknown!”So I finish the entire season, I will said in order:
I didnt care much from Joan is awfull because it was more those a "current thing" satire that feel somewhat on the nose, it also was weird it critize netflix plots when this is one of the wackier ones.
loch monster is better even if just a thriller without a sci fi component and being set in scotland is fresh in many ways.
Beyond the sea is probably the best and even if I sound like purist, it the most black mirror episode in that is a human dilema explore by the use of sci fi and his cynical final was cheft kiss.
mazey day is....good? but I feel it was very much red mirror by their use of supernatural but it did have that distintive cynical nature that make it love the show.
Finally the demon 76 I think was.....well it was more open about make it supernatural so it dosent take you by surprise and the actor really sell it specially the girl who goes between being good and trying not harm anyone even asshole and having some violent repressed thoughts. My only issue the ending and how the two taking hands almost smilling kinda kill the whole thing and a feeling you really want to make her a good chararter even if she is killing people because a demon told her.
Overall I will rate this season a 3 or 3.5 clearly black mirror want to reinvent themselves and not being lock up as "the cynical show that use scary tech" but...sometimes it feel weird when it try something else, but their supernatural episode are good and will be set easy without that much problem
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"I notice this show how has more Complete Monster entries than the entire Twilight Zone and Outer Limits franchises combined.
Ouch, just revisited the episode crowner and Metalhead is scored so low it doesn't even show up. Poor Maxine Peake.
OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!
