Not much to go on so far. The website shows a date of 12.7.11, so maybe we'll get some more info then. Or another stupid teaser.
.....did they ever state that this is the reveal of this exclusive? They aren'[t just showing us some new trailer for an already announced game?
To quote Squidward Tentacles: "Something stupid I'm sure."
Seriously, announcements of announcements never end up living up to their hype. It's so much better when companies pull shit out of their ass unexpectedly instead of being like "GUYS!! GUYS! IT'S GONNA BE SO AWESOME! REALLY! YOU'LL SEE SOON!"

Easy street has no parking signs. The Micheal Trailer definitely lived up to hype.
Well, the ant footage is actually footage of a Bullet ant under the effects of Cordyceps fungus. For those who don't know, Cordyceps is a type of bacteria that breeds by mind controlling an ant to get to a high spot where the wind will carry its spores on, then forces it to wait there as the fungus grows to full maturity inside the ant. See, you can see the beining of the sapling growing out of the ants head at the end of the video.
So, its likely a survival horror game where you need to survive in a world filled with exploding plant-men. I gotta admit, I did not see that coming.
Shit I read about that on Cracked once and that scared the bajeezus out of me.
So what, a game about a mind-controlling agent that turns its host into a zombie? Maybe it actually is Resident Evil 6.

No-one has said zombie. The bullet ant is very clearly alive and aware the whole time (or as aware as an ant can be). More half mutated.
Which sounds like Las Plagas. Still could be RE6.
Oh boy, another zombie game...
But I hear it may actually be true survival horror, in that you are defensless against whatever it is, instead of "survival" horror like dead space.
^^ Sorta, but imagine the Las Plagas without a human master - just a strain of fungus that hijacks your brain, forcing you to basically suicide bomb others to spread the infection.
I'm a little sick of cordyceps at this point. It and rabies seem to be the go-to comparisons whenever someone wants to write a Technically Living Zombie story.
That's Feo . . . He's a disgusting, mysoginistic, paedophilic asshat who moonlights as a shitty writer—Something AwfulYeah, never in history has a follow up to a multiplat game been exclusive to one console *COUGH Sonic Colors *COUGH Metal Gear Solid 3 *COUGH Gears Of War
So they're announcing that they're going to announce a game that will involve some kind of apocalyptic scenario? Meh, I'm still hoping for them to announce that they're going to announce a game that has a sword as a usable weapon.
Text I feel is necessary to append to every post.Sonic Colours was multi-platform: DS and Wii. Or did you mean brand exclusive?
Anywho, what if this is a game where you're an ant and have to avoid said plant? And if you get infected, it slowly starts taking over your ant body until stuff gets trippy, and the game ends with a close-up of the ant screaming in a high, raw voice? It's highly unlikely, but damn that'd be fun.
(...though I really, REALLY creeped myself out at the "screaming" part. As in "twitch uncontrollably every time I imagined it".)
And I'll bet you this will be coming to the Vita as well.
Well, it's original. Except for Left 4 Dead, Resident Evil, Dead Rising...
Jonah FalconYeah, they have zombies, clearly there is no way you can ever do anything original or interesting with those.
I love how Jonah listed three series that not only play extremely differently, but also portray zombies in radically different ways too.

I think he meant in a Technically Living Zombie sense, which is a trope at least two of those game(haven't played dead rising) use.

XP granted for befriending a giant magical spider!Well two voice actors HAVE confirmed that Resident Evil 6 is happening(And taking place in Tokyo or Japan or something) so it's very possible RE 6 is the announcement.
^^ I have to question - so? Adventures in a swords and sorcery world was done in Conan in 1932 - does that make The Hobbit unoriginal?
What part of Tropes Are Not Bad have you people not read? As I have stated repeatedly, none of the mentioned examples involve plant-men.
You know, the game doesn't just have to feature zombies. Hell, the trailer only shows people panicking during a viral outbreak.
What I'm saying is that even if it's a zombie game, it might be about the impact of an infection in a quarantined zone, and the civil unrest that's caused by uninfected people. So you'd not only be fighting the infected, but also the degenerates and the insane.
so hey, here's a thought. What if in this game, you're the mind control fungus? And you are the last of your kind, and you must multiply the only way you know how; by infecting untold numbers of people.
XP granted for befriending a giant magical spider!
See the teaser here.
No Idea what the game could be, but many people are speculating that this could be Resident Evil 6 (which I highly doubt)
The game will be revealed at the VGA's next week.
