Non Indicative Picture: Brilliant But Lazy get usage counts

It's just a picture of two guys chilling.

Make a constructive suggestion, then.

Seriously, this smacks of "I don't like this picture, change it."

Well, one of them's recognizably Albert Einstein. Yes, I know our usual policy is Viewers Are Morons when it comes to this sort of thing, but I think we should be able to assume that even we can recognize Einstein and at least know that he was a really smart guy.

I think it's a pretty wonderful image, myself.

It hardly qualifies any better than the current picture, but Rakshata Chawla from Code Geass came immediately to mind. She's a scientist who is rarely seen not wearing a white lab coat, and even more rarely seen not laying about on a sofa while smoking her long pipe.

This is the best I could find from GIS, which still qualifies as JAFAAC.

I'm enlightened, professor.
This is probably make me sound like an idiot, but I can't actually tell who the smoking guy is. I only know he's Einstein because of the caption.

I can identify that as Einstein, though I can see how some people might miss it (he is in the background).

Keep Until Better Image Suggestion.

This image pick does require prior knowledge of whoever is in the image unless someone can find a comic panel or two showing a genius being a slacker.

This one for me doesn't work because even if the majority of people who see it know who Einstein is, where's the lazy part of the trope? Sitting down isn't particularly lazy.

So are we saying that Einstein and Niels Bohr were actually lazy? Because I don't think they were.

Remember, trope images don't need to be examples of the trope, they only need to demonstrate the trope.

Really? I've seen images vetoed for not being examples.
It's like God spilled a person.
Not being an example of the trope is a Bad Thing. If the image is good enough, we might keep it anyway; we generally decide that on a case-by-case basis.
Rhymes with "Protracted."
[up] How do we avoid inconsistency in such decisions, then? We need to have some preset standards on when it is okay, when it is not, and why.

Anyway, this has been criticized both on the basis of being non-indicative and of not being an example. Seeing as how both of those are considered "opposite" complaints, I motion to pull the image from the page.

A pocketful of saudade.
It's a good picture, maybe before pulling it altogether we can call the caption for aid, carrying a bit of the weight.

(And for the umpteenth time it's okay for captions to do that.)
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.

Meh...I wouldn't miss this pic if it were cut.

Does anyone have a suggestion that they think is better?

Oppose the pull unless a better image is found.

I too oppose pulling the image until a better one is found, as the current one is representative enough to me.

I see the Awesomeness.
My problem with the current has nothing to do with Einstein being the brilliant one. My problem is that it shows him relaxing instead of failing at something because he's too lazy to do anything.
The Laughing Ed
If I had Code Geass, I'd be pulling up images of Rakshata like I pictured above. I would think that a scientist wearing a lab coat would indicate the "Brilliant" part fairly well, and add her laying down on a couch while smoking a pipe and not giving a care in the world about what's going on around her would show the lazy part.

Unfortunately, GIS doesn't help out much beyond that picture I showed above.

The system doesn't know you right now, so no post button for you.
You need to Get Known to get one of those.
