Desco was shaking as the others started to reassure her. She stopped and nodded. She wasn't sure about the Big Sister comment, but she was also similar to Big Sis. Perhaps it wouldn't be so bad to have another Big Sis, but Desco didn't know her well enough yet. She should have seen this perhaps. Dio was a Vampire, vampires could be very scary. Even Big Bro probably did this when he was a Tyrant, when he drank human blood.

Desco crept out from behind Eggman and nodded to Dio. Unlike Fenfen who was scary, Dio was still nice to her. She blushed a little, perhaps she had over-reacted to Dio's display, it was really evil and that was a good thing. As a Final Boss Desco should be used to this sort of thing. Desco grabbed her communicator. "Desco was surprised at your carnage, Mr. Dio. She still has a lot to learn about being a Final Boss." Desco approached Dio showing she was going to follow him to what he wanted to show her.

"What are you talking about?" Eggman asked Amon with a quizzical look on his face. "There's a communicator for you right here," Eggman said, handing Amon a communicator that had clearly been in front of him the whole time. "Hmph, that earlier info dump of yours must've addled your brain or something."

She had been thanked, but Dio had not required anything else of her. Some of the other Overlords had expressed incredulity at her actions, but nothing amounting to a formal rebuke. So Aakiyah had removed herself to one side.

Now that another offer had been made, however, she was obliged to consider it. Aakiyah took the communicator in one lithe hand, holding it up to scrutiny. Then she placed it back on the table.

"These will not be necessary for Hassan-i-Sabbah," she said. "We shall shadow each of you from behind. You will not notice our presence, nor shall you need to speak to us without cause. If we discover anything of note, you will know."

As if backing up her words, the air shimmered slightly around her.

SPACE TO THE MOUNTAINS, HOOOOO

An opportunity to draw the cyborg aside had not presented itself. Nonetheless, he was sure the time would come.

Kirei stood up and found himself on native soil. Not Fuyuki, but somewhere in Japan. He could feel the land in his bones, and the trees spoke to him. These were the mountains of the Hand, then?

"So, this is Japan? Nice place you got here, Master."

Kirei did not acknowledge Lancer's jibe, but neither did he deny it. The Celt grinned.

"I'll take that as a yes, then."

Hands behind his back, Kirei stepped forwards and indicated the top of the range. He knew what to search out when on a mission, and he had already picked up on a clue.

"Most likely our enemies hide in that edifice," he said. "I can scale those heights alone and at speed. Progress may be slower for those of us who are more encumbered."

As he stated this fact, he looked at Tesseract's men.

"Two possibilities present themselves. We send an advance group up while the rest follow as support, or we drop our pace to match the slowest man and conduct a joint assault. But I doubt the Hand, once stirred, will be inclined to run and hide. We are outnumbered, so we must strike swiftly."

Having said more than his usual piece, he fell silent.

Blackfire walked to take her communicator and then she said to Eggman "Thank you, You didn't disappoint, these are so advanced they almost don't seem to be from this planet" she then talked to Desco and said "Are you ready?,you will enjoy this, trust me sometimes their first boss is usually also their last".

As the men were being lifted from their trances, the snakes seemed to notice that they stopped being threats. They slithered away from the former mind slaves and towards the plantwomen. With swift movement the two snakes lunged at two of the plantwomen and wrapped around them. They started to constrict them and hold them in place, perfect for their allies to take advantage of.

Medusa moved at a pretty good speed as she and Schala made their way from the Throne Room to the Inner Quarters. The witch peeked into the room to see Zeal still alive and a person sized hole in the opposite wall with no sign of the Enchantress. She smiled and slid through the door way, arms crossed. "My my, and here I was starting to grow worried." She remarked casually as she looked out the hole to the outside sky. She turned back to Zeal with a smirk on her face and asked "Do you need any help?"

Japan Mountain Place

By the time the group appeared on the mountain, Free had released Crona, who was looked around none too happy. Free looked around with a big ol' grin on his face, his excitement plain for everyone to see. He looked to the drawing that The Joker showed the group and let out a small chuckle. "I think your plan is missing a few steps." He remarked before turning to listen to Kirei. "Looks like hes got a grasp on things." He commented, jerking his thumb over at the priest.

Crona didn't seem to want to contribute to the conversation as much. He/She had turned to face away from the group and hunched over, seeming to mutter to his/her self. "Never been to Japan before....I know, but she's probably going to be mad.....I don't know if this counts as extra credit.....I guess....do ninjas even have souls?....Alright alright, I get it. Its your fault if shes mad though."

"Okay, so, what do we have here?"
"Mountaintop. Very good defensive position. They have high ground, and unless we can secure ridge, we have no cover besides trees."
"We ain't gonna be able to get a good line of sight, not unless we can get to another peak."
"Spider-Guy just leeroy'd."
"...fuck. Okay, sniper teams? Grab whatever positions you can, I don't care if you have to climb up a whole different mountain, find something."
With this, four men broke away from the group and headed in different directions. They would search for some position within a kilometer and a half of The Hand's compound that was elevated above it, and provided a good line of sight into the compound. If that was impossible, they would return to the group.

"Next, let's not take Hagrid's advice: Don't follow the spiders. We'll use them as a distraction while we hit the compound from a different direction. As for speed of movement, we'll take option two. Attacking as we arrive spreads our forces thin, and gives us no chance to support each other. We launch a cohesive assault."

"Finally, Blue Hair Guy? Are you sure you're not Japanese? I mean, blue hair."

Hmm. She acclimatized to the gore quite well. Her ambitions to be a "Final Boss", whatever that was, was a great motivator for her. That would be useful later.
Tesseract got up, and nodded as he took a communicator from Eggman. Several of Tesseract's soldiers also grabbed communicators. They had radios, but they obviously didn't have the frequency to talk to the communicators.

They both eyed their surroundings for a bit, before Youmu said, "Mistress... they've already started attacking..."

"Oh, have they? I suppose we'll just follow then." Yuyuko replied, drifting slowly behind one of the sniper teams. Beside her, Youmu trotted along, discomfort still present.

Asgard, Throne Room

The three who had not been fighting the plant creatures saw that their attacks were freeing the men and decided to take advantage of this newfound knowledge by following Medusa and Schala, punching and blasting any man who got close to them.

The four fighting the plantwomen found themselves being grabbed by the three plantwomen and were about to become feasts for them... until Medusa's snakes wrapped up the two smaller plantwomen enough to allow the two women grabbed by them to get free with a little fire magic. While the two smaller plantwomen were busy with the snakes, the two freed women cast their fire magic on the larger Audrey, burning free the two in the plantwoman's clutches. As the four women regrouped away from the three plantwomen, they concentrated their fire magic as one at the head of Audrey first and then at the heads of the two smaller plantwomen afterwards, hopefully killing them.

Asgard, Inner Chamber

"Whoa..." Schala's eyes were wide with shock at seeing the person-sized hole that her mother had supposedly caused. "What happened?"

Rather than answering either Medusa or Schala, Lust ran like a woman possessed at where Enchantress landed attempted to jump on her to keep her pinned to the ground, unable to get up or to use her magic. Zeal did have a plan though... She would ask for Enchantress to admit defeat and unconditionally surrender to her and if Enchantress refused, she would use her Ultimate Spear to slice through her arms and then stab her in the heart. Zeal utterly, utterly hated that she may have to mar this perfect vision of Lust or that she had to use Earthbound methods to do it, but Lust was through with Enchantress's trickery.

The Master almost instinctively backs off when he sees Sif. Asgardian, female...possibly foes of Enchantress Asgard sent to defeat her. If so...this shouldn't reveal much about us or our plans.

The Master grins with a clear look of relief in his eyes. "My lady, I am Koschei. Me and a few allies of mine were sent from another world unconnected to Yggdrasil. We knew of the threat the Enchantress brings to Asgard and as fighters of evil and protectors of peace wished to stop her. I however was trapped fighting one of her minions while my compatriot was taken to the Enchantress along with members of her own army. I am grateful you are her, my lady. I am injured from the battle with her forces and more of her soldiers are after me. I would like to request your assistance."

Low-lee-tuh. Loh-li-tah. Just how is the name pronounced? If I should ever happen across that delightful humming pervert, I'll bed him on the spot.

I took DESCO gently by the shoulder as she approached, blushing out her fear through child-speak and bold motions, and guided her carefully over the ruined corpse of the bald drunkard and towards the almost-corpse of the teenage one. He'd lost conscious entirely by that point, and aside from a feebly rising chest he lay there motionless, staining the carpet with blood from hia tongueless mouth - I lingered for a second to make sure DESCO managed to see all that, to make sure it all sank in as a single image, and then knelt down to conduct business at her own level.

"Hold this, DESCO." I said, handing her the knife from his chest. It was an old thing with a pitted blade and a cracked handle, no doubt used for self-assurance rather than actual self-defence, but it would do. Pressing gently, I lingered until she agreed to take it, reassuring her with a smiling glance when she finally did.

Next tracing a lazy line from the clavicle up towards the corner of the jaw, brushing aside greasy teenaged hair where necessary, I located the unconscious youth's carotid artery. Making sure DESCO could see, more importantly that she could understand, I isolated the spot between my thumb and forefinger, a half-centimetre of sallow skin pulsing rhythmically beneath his jawline. My grip on DESCO tightened then - not enough to really scare her, and certainly not enough to hurt, but enough to make it impossible for her to pull away. The time had come for curative measures.

"DESCO, do you see this part of his neck? Right here, between my finger and thumb? This is the carotid artery. It carries vital blood to the brain under a great pressure, and if it's ruptured it's almost always a fatal injury. Stick the knife into it. All the way in, and then pull it out as quickly as you can. This is the first thing you need to learn about being a... final boss, and it's the fastest way to conquer your fear. You do want that, don't you? Not to fear me? Not to fear this? So stick the knife in. Watch him die."

"Eat the breads."

The whispers had focused on a singular subject: if Ahriman could be trusted. Surprisingly, all of the kids minus Cosmin trusted him. They wanted to trust him, to have an adult by their side, their arguments focusing on just how things would be easier by having such a powerful man by their side. Cosmin was the one who didn't trust him, a life of hiding his gift making him wary of this opportunity. But he relented to his fellow group member's arguments, giving them locations to visit and rally people.

Cosmin put his hands on his back, looking down. "Then the only thing left to do is for you to wait until tomorrow night. We'll meet again here, and I'll take you to our hideout. I need to check with our other friends, to see if they accept you. You understand, don't you?"

Asgard, Hanging Gardens

Amora still groaned on the ground when Zeal ran off towards her, but upon seeing what the queen was going to do, she touched the ground, muttering something under her breath. A jet of red sparkles flew out of her hands, sending her back into the air, allowing her to land on her feet right after Zeal ran past her. "Ab inspiratione spiritus potestatem!" She declared, green energy concentrating around her hands and shooting after Zeal as if they were magical bullets. This commotion was enough to make all Asgardians on the gardens either run away in fear or stay to watch the fight.

——

Asgard, Amora's Palace, Throne Room

No longer having to deal with the men, the plantwomen fell in no time, their roots shrinking and going back into the bodies of the women, still left intact inside of their plant bodies. However, before any of the soldiers could do anything about them, their bodies started shriveling, as if they were burning wood, before turning into four small seeds.

——

Asgard, Outside

Sif looked down at the Master, nodding intently at every word he spoke, believing every one of them. Except when he finished, a smile spread across Sif's face. "I doeth not doubteth that Amora is not a woman of honor." She said, her grip on her sword tightening. "But if she caused any troubleth, then we wouldst hast known about it before anyone else, especially an outsider liketh thou." She unsheathed her sword, placing it right in front of the Master's throat. "Explaineth thy true reasons, silver-tongued man."

Metropolis, Invisible Office Floor

"An interesting contraption." Amon said, contemplating the communicator. Noticing the situation going on between Desco and Dio, he cleared up his throat. "Doctor, may I please have a moment of your attention? Tesseract, if you would accompany us?" He nodded to the far end of the room, away from Dio.

——

Metropolis, STAR Labs

The fourth underground floor was a maze of corridors where every odd wall was made entirely out of glass, allowing the people walking around the chance to look into some of the labs. Most of them had scientists sitting around, looking at things, talking about things or writing about things, but some had entirely unusual subjects: giant robotic hands going from one side to the other, multiple scientists observing as an organism shfited and shivered inside a glass cube...

Walking around were scientists, as could be evidenced by their labcoats, but there was also something else. After every corridor, there was a heavily armored security guard wielding weapons far advanced than the ones Greed was accostumed with, each gun filled with details and additions that would have most likely made Tesseract's soldiers want to change their pants. And all of them wore a red eyepatch over their right eye, not moving their head, just watching.

The elevator was at the end of the long, long corridor. But as Greed waited for it to reach him, one of the soldiers- a grizzled old man wearing a black eyepatch instead of a red one- walked up to his side. "Amanda." He muttered, waving his hand and turning to the elevator. "Taking a break? Who's upstairs right now?"

Japan, Iga and Kōga Mountains

"I would have loved to hear that plan of yours, Pope Man, but I'm far too busy heeding to the call of adventure!" The Joker announced, setting after Anub'arak. The sniper teams wouldn't find any higher points in close proximity- it seemed like the Hand had chosen their position extremely well. Moving closer to the location of the compound, one could see just how big it was, painted in deep red shades that hid it excellently among the trees, even at day.

There were no trails, no paths, nothing that lead them directly to the compound- just their gut feeling- yet they managed to reach a point where the compound was slightly visible. But something that was also visible were the watchtowers located on the perimeter of the compound. There was no discernible entrance door inbetween these watchtowers, only the static forms of the Hand ninjas, who looked more like statues when spotted from afar.

Greed didn't overreact to the question, instead just staring straight at the elevator. "I need to, you know." He waved his hand, as if he was expecting the man to finish the phrase. "So I locked security upstairs. Five minutes and I'll be back up, just like I always do."

“But of course,” Ahriman replied. “And thank you, my boy, for lending me your ears. I shall see you at this time tomorrow; let us hope that your other friends are as willing to listen as you have been. Latveria’s future depends on it.”

With those words the sorcerer uttered the words of his earlier spell, sub-vocalizing them so as to be inaudible to human hearing. Light warped and bent away from him, his armoured form seeming to vanish into thin air from the feet on up. Last to disappear was his head, and as it did so, he spoke a single word of parting. “Farewell.”

Then he was gone, invisible to the naked eye once more.

Asgard, Hanging Gardens

Zeal soon noticed that Amora had taken to the air and quickly turned around to try to face Amora again. It was obvious to Zeal that Amora was not down for the count yet.

"FIRE!!!" Zeal yelled as she attempted to blast the green magic bullets out of the air with her fire magic.

Tesseract's Mooks, Bravo Team - Iga and Kōga Mountains, Japan

The soldiers, true to their word, made their way towards the compound, keeping separate from Anubarak's forces. The sniper teams rejoined them once no viable positions could be found, and eventually they found their own section of perimeter wall. Sy's hand shot up once it was spotted, the group stopping quickly.

They slowly made their way closer, but made great efforts to not be spotted. Once they were able to see where the perimeter wall met the mountain, they would stop completely.
"Okay, here's the plan. We're gonna take out the six nearest guard towers. Ramirez, Baker, take the furthest two, me and Ferguson will take the two in the middle, Russo and Hong will take the two closest. Brown will take the wall down. Russo, Hong? Once you're done, you'll be moving in with Burns, Sense, Yuschenko, Sovereign, Jefferson and Ramsey. The rest of us will cover your approach."

A flurry of silent activity kicked up, requests for range readings made and delivered, and soon, everyone was in position. They waited.
And waited.
And waited.

"...What's taking Spider-guy so long?"
"We may have underestimated him. He may be waiting for us."
"Dammit, the longer we wait, the better the chance of us being spotted. Fire in 3, 2, 1."

The crackle of gunfire erupted, and was immediately drowned out as a 6.7kg rocket propelled grenade shot through the air to impact the perimeter wall between two guard towers. The watchful ninjas would likely be surprised, if their towers hadn't been the target of their own launched explosives. In this case, 40mm grenades. The next two guardtowers along had their occupants be the targets of precision gunfire, the heavy rounds aimed for the middle of their chests.
Eight soldiers moved up, four in two lines on either side of the hole. The grenadiers loaded fresh rounds into their grenade launchers as they moved. Anything that dared stick it's head out from the hole would receive bullets in kind, automatic fire designed to suppress the enemy.
Not that anyone on the other side would be alive. The rocket launched could punch through a solid meter and a half of reinforced concrete.

Well, not ordinary relative to his agenda at least. Investigation into this woman was required- Teridax started to furiously go through the lists of people that may be affiliated with Magneto.

None made a match.

So not a personal acquaintance then. Nevertheless, there was a connection between his quarry and this woman standing in front of him. A direct lead, he could ask for nothing less. It would mean that the deception would need to continue.

"I"

A monotonous artificial voice droned out of Teridax.

"I am a prototype bio-mechanical being programmed with an artificial intelligence."

He stepped back, out of the diner.

Desco accepted the communicator from Egg man and was about to respond to Blackfire, "Uhh, oo.." when she was whisked away by the vampire, slowly around the mutilated corpse over to another, injured victim. Desco's heart beat heavy for a few moments looking at the gruesome scene, but she settled down as her demonic instincts accepted the situation. This was the sort of thing Big Brother used to do, and Fenfen threatened Desco and everyone else with but never, in front of Desco, actually did.

Desco accepted the knife and looked at it. No demon ever used a weapon this small, except perhaps some Ninja. Desco of watched curiously as Dio traced a line on the victim. Dio described the party of the body he had gripped, so it was a weak spot on humans. Desco never learned about weak points on humans before. Not to such a fine detail. She understood the elements well enough, but a Final Boss didn't usually need to use such a fine detail.

Then Dio started to ask her to attack the weak point. Did Desco fear doing this as Dio suggested? Her heart beat faster with the question, the suggestions had brought on fear. Yogsothoth materialized behind Dio from Desco's stress and contemplating an attack. Desco isn't afraid of this.. she isn't! Yogsothoth floated silently around Dio, to rest at Desco's side as close as he could get to her. His eyes that could focused on the unfortunate human while others stared at Dio, unblinking as always.

Desco plunged the knife in and jerked it out. While the body resisted the knife, Desco's demonic strength pushed it through like cutting butter. Arterial blood gushed out and spurted, all over Desco, Yog, and probably Dio. Desco jetted back in revulsion at being covered in blood, pushing back against but not moving Dio's firmly gripped hand. "Ewww! Desco is covered in blood!".

Doomstadt

The day passed uneventfully. It seemed as if one of Doom's many flaws was that his city was utterly boring on a normal day. People going around from one side to the other, without the sound of cars or buses littering their ears. Heck, not even the sound of the factories could be heard. It was a completely silent city, with many police officers making sure that it remained like this.

The moment the sun set, the streets went empty, and the people which once populated it were replaced with roaming police officers, each one of them holding a lantern, scouting for anyone trying to escape the curfew. Alongside the Rathauz, just like in the previous night, Cosmin awaited, this time wearing a black leather jacket, baggy black jeans and black shoes, that allowed him the chance to hide within the darkness.

But then again, nothing in this town was hidden to Ahriman...

Asgard, Hanging Gardens

In a bedazzling spectable of fire and green light dancing with one another, the bullets exploded in mid-air, their sound covering as Amora performed another incantation- a green, swirling line penetrating the earth, causing the ground underneath Zeal to rattle and shake before suddenly opening, turning into a giant mouth that tried to gobble the Enchantress' enemy.

Metropolis, Invisible Office Floor

"The intention behind this conversation has nothing to do with that." Amon explained, before rubbing his chin. "My... chosen enemy is a member of a race of beings known as mutants. They look like humans, yet they possess unique abilities which makes each one of them a different beast. Needless to say... these mutants would provide us with a much needed army. They are oppressed by their governments, seen by them as a danger to their way of life. There are people who support them, and there are people who loathe them for what they represent: the next step in human evolution."

"My target, who goes by the name of the Purple Man, has the ability to mass-produce pheromones which can be used to enthrall those around him, especially mutants." Amon continued, pointing at his chest. "This, coupled with the abilities given to me by Tatu, will allow me to control entire crowds to do our bidding. My proposal is simple. Doctor Eggman, you will find ways to weaponize my abilities- after they are enhanced by the Purple Man's- and Tesseract, you will work out the tactical applications of Doctor Eggman's plans. Metropolis, STAR Labs Underground

"A lot of things can happen in five minutes, Amanda." The man said as he stepped into the elevator. "We don't want a reprisal of the last time we had a problem with... outside forces, now, do we?" He stared at Greed, even as the short elevator ride went on. "... do we, Amanda?"

Although the man continued to wait for an answer, the door opened to thirty seconds later, immediately dispensing Greed and the man into another set of long, white corridors, except these ones weren't as well-lit as the previous ones, and a digital display saying 'server' was directing Greed to the right.

New York, Saranac Lake Village

"Another one of those freaks!" The man tending to the bar yelled out, grumbling beneath his breath, as Railegh walked around him.

"Yeah, yeah, Johnson, your hatred of 'freaks' is well-documented." She said, waving his complaints off, but she stopped on her tracks and looked back when she heard Teridax's mental comment. "I'm sorry, what did you say? Because I'm not the... six foot tall thing standing on the doorway."

Japan, the Hand Hideout

The middle of the Hand compound was a gigantic open area covered in artificial dirt, meant to emulate various environments such as sand, rocks, and the occasional patch of wet dirt. Burrowing out of it was no easy task, but it was not impossible, and the spiderlings would not feel any footsteps on the open area, indicating that their way into the base was free. Not that it didn't matter, because what happened next sent a swarm of footsteps echoing through the compound.

A giant chunk of the wall was destroyed by the rocket, leaving behind a giant hole through which even the bulkiest of Overlords could pass through. The ninjas' hand immediately went for something inside their watchtowers, but they themselves were flung across the air as their watchtowers exploded, taking out bits of the wall and sending their bodies into declines or sharp bits, one of the ninjas howling as his waist was impaled by a chunk of the wall, the other not having enough time to respond as his body flew down the mountain.

This gave the other ninjas a time to react. Truth be told, it wasn't more than one or two seconds, but when you had been trained by the Hand, that was all they needed. They disappeared from the watchtowers almost immediately, leaving behind nothing, not even a sign or a trail. Their footsteps drowned out by the sound of gunfire, the four remaining ninjas travelled swiftly through the forest, finding the source of the attack. From the darkness of the trees came kunais, aimed at the enemies. However, if these kunais didn't find the target, there was another surprise waiting for the weapon-wielding henchmen. The moment the sharp bits of the kunais touched the ground, an audible click was heard, as razor-sharp wires that were coiled inside a round contraption attached to the kunais were instantly detaching, snapping outwards and slashing at anything near them.

The reception from inside the compound wasn't much warmer. The grenadiers weren't in luck, for there were no visible targets, although it was clear they weren't alone. The Joker followed them, tiptoeing around the area, his shoes making a clown noise with every step. "Hoo hoo!" He exclaimed, rubbing his hands together. "Looks like it's all ours, boys!" The moment the clown said that, hands shot out from the darkness. These weren't wires or spears or knives, but actual hands sporting long, scaly fingers, which attempted to wrap around the arms of the grenadiers with surprising strength, before pulling them back into the darkness, where the wet sounds of flesh, fabric and metal being devoured could be heard.

Doomstadt, the next day

After his meeting with the disenfranchised youths, Ahriman had made his way to the outskirts of the city. Hidden from prying eyes amidst the dense woodlands bordering Latveria, he could safely dispense with both the invisibility spell and the perceptual illusion he’d wrapped about his form. There was no sense risking discovery through sustaining them; if Doom was even half as skilled and powerful a sorcerer as his profile claimed him to be, then he’d surely notice such prolonged magic use sooner or later.

The Chaos Lord had not gone far, just enough to find a small cave suitable for his purposes. He’d found a she-bear lurking within, and she’d been less than pleased with his intrusion. To a mortal man such a beast would have been deadly, but Ahriman had faced down alien horrors much larger and deadlier than this; he’d simply wrapped his fingers around the shaggy brute’s throat and strangled her, his armour merely scuffed from her frenzied death throes.

Since dispatching the beast, he had not been idle. Oh, the sorcerer had not set one foot outside his newly-acquired cave… not physically, at least. Spiritually, it was another matter entirely. Reciting the mantras and mandalas taught to him so very long ago on benighted Prospero, Ahriman had risen to the highest spheres of the Enumerations and unshackled his body of light from his corporeal form. Freed from its fleshly confines and invisible to the naked eye, his subtle body had flown back into Doomstadt, where it spent the day waiting and watching.

In this manner, Ahriman studied the layout of the city’s streets and districts, committing their names and positions to memory. Save for the castle, which he did not go near so as not to draw Doom’s gaze, he acquainted himself with the city’s landmarks and points of interest—the Memorial and Monument parks, the great scholam technica that was the Latverian Academy of the Sciences, the ground rail station that connected the nation’s capital to its other communities. And he took note of other things as well: patrol routes and guard shifts; the location of surveillance systems, covert or otherwise; natural chokepoints in the street plan.

When the time came to start his little insurrection, this knowledge would serve him well.

Once the sun had begun to set, and the city dwellers began making their way to their homes, Ahriman’s spirit returned to his hiding place and re-entered his physical body. After taking a moment to shake off the stiffness, he set out, cloaking himself in illusion and invisibility once more.

He reached the rathauz at the appointed time, and found his contact waiting as he said he’d be. Cosmin, he said telepathically, I am here.

And with that announcement he lifted his spell, standing revealed. Once more he was cloaked in the crimson and gold form of Ohrmuzd, rather than his true appearance.

-Informed by the spiderlings of the impetuous humans' fate, the Nerubians surface as one, firing their tiny brothers in streams at the unkown enemies before burrowing back down. Kunais and whips bouncing off his chitinous shell, Anub'arak tunnels down, surfacing within the compound and lumbering towards the darkness where the enemy cowers.-

Tesseract's Mooks, Bravo Team - Iga and Kōga Mountains, Japan
Maneuver Element

"MERDA!" was the last word to come from Francesca Russo mouth before she and Hong Gil-dong were pulled by the clawed hands of the beast into it's jagged maw.
The surviving six scrambled backwards out of the compound, pulling the Joker with them, before opening fire into the hole they had created. Automatic rifle fire barked into the hole first, before one gun quietened and was replaced by a steady stream of flame from Sense. Burns opted immediately for magic, and burst of laser-like magical energy burst forth from her palm, powerful enough to carve deep grooves through concrete. Similar bursts erupted from the eyes of Ramsey and Jefferson, before halting it with the cry of "CLEAR BACKBLAST" and the launching of two more RP Gs into the hole. Sovereign decided to empty her grenade launcher, a full six grenades, before joining Sense in sending a steady stream of flame onto whatever creature had slaughtered their comrades.
Fire Element
' "Fuck! Tangoes to the rear!"
The kunai and razorwire would bounce harmlessly off the magically-armoured clothes, but their impact would still be felt, if lessened. Sy Duir turned, and dropping his gun, he unsheathed his sword. He scanned the area behind them for their unseen foe, before a distraction arose from behind him.
"Russo and Hong are down! Something with claws!"
"Raad, Ramirez, Hunter, with me! Everyone else, keep firing!"

More rifles barked as bullets were aimed and fired at the hole, a healthy mix of automatic bursts and semi-automatic shots. The four magical men dropped their weaponry and pulled their swords, their unhindered arms crackling and glowing with magical energy. Sy Duir opened the attack, a stream of fire flowing over the woods where the kunai came from.
Tesseract, Metropolis, Outside Star Labs

Tesseract merely nodded, agreeing with the plan. An army of the oppressed would be both easy to turn to their side, and would make most valuable allies. It was a phenomenon seen in Tesseract's home universe also. Sorcerers, Warlocks and Witches, beings with more power than humans, were forced into hiding by the Sanctuaries, so as not to cause panic within the mortal populations. However, many resented this, as proven by the failed rebellion in Roarhaven, Ireland. It was also a source of manpower for Mevolent, as not all his soldiers believed in, or even worshipped the Faceless Ones. Many simply wanted to see sorcerers being hidden from the mortals no longer, and wished for sorcerers to take their "rightful place" as humanity's superiors.

"We would have to convince them of our being... mutants, of course."

They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!
