ASW and Examu have yet to reach the point that Capcom and SNK were at when SF and KOF took off and when they do reach it they'll be competing against the two dinosaurs rather than each other, so in that sense they won't be the next Capcom and SNK for a while. Do note that ASW and Examu are still focused on a single genre while the other two have diversified a lot.
Examu in particular may have a hard time hitting mainstream because of AH's art style and character designs. We'll have to see if DB and Aquapazza become anywhere near as popular. They've also yet to come near enough to ASW's popularity to justify a crossover.
As for ASW: Weapon fighters are relatively niche to begin with and most official tourneys have bigger KOF, SF, VF and Tekken representation than they do GG or BB (especially with BBCS's teething problems). They're getting somewhere but they have quite a long way to go.
In the end, it's still too early to tell.

Guess it's because those two are the current companies to focus greatly on fighting genre, thus if I wanted a smaller-scale 'Capcom Vs SNK', it'd be those two. Right now, even with the success of Guilty Gear and Blaz Blue, it's too early for even ASW to tackle either Capcom or SNK so if they want to tackle someone at crossover, it should be Examu.
P.S: Anyone wanna help entry pimping DB now that it got its page?
I'm not a big fan of Examu honestly. The aesthetic appeal for most of their games is zero to me. Reminds me too much of what I don't like about the anime market these days. I'd rather have Arc just make a crossover game from their own series or Guilty Gear/Blazblue vs Darkstalkers/Sengoku. Or just an Arc vs Capcom.

Where in the frosty hell is that Darkstalkers/Guilty Gear crossover, damn it?!
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadRight after Darkstalkers HD Remix comes out.
Oh, that infamous crossoveer that could of happened.
Had Sega Sammy not of been such assholes towards Arc System Works, it could of happened.
Eh, Darkstalkers is a bit too powerful of a verse to cross over with anything much other than the marvel universe. Unless you have the name Okami, Asuras Wrath or Bayonetta strapped to you, that is.

Watch SymphogearDude you realize Arc has guys like Sol Badguy, Slayer, Hakumen, and Dizzy, absurdly powerful guys who fight at a fraction of their power within their own game yet still are considered the strongest ones? They can easily fight on DS level.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that the cast of Guilty Gear and BlazBlue have their fair share of heavy hitters that would be a good match for the upper echelons of Darkstalkers. Sol (with his headband off), i-no, Slayer, Dizzy, Justice, Hakumen, Rachel, and Hazama/Terumi all come to mind. Not necessarily sure if all of them can tangle with the Class S Darkstalkers (like Morrigan and Jedah) and actually beat them, but it'd be a battle for the ages.

"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadI don't think either Guilty Gear or Blaz Blue has anyone who can take on the S-rank Darkstalkers, but its definitely a closer match than any other fighting game that comes to mind ( besides Mv C, natch ).
Home of CBR Rumbles-in-Exile: rumbles.fr.yuku.comNot sure if any of them could contend with the likes of Pyron, who traveled across the entire universe in the span of four earth days. And He's just an A Rank character.
Watch SymphogearSlayer punches people out of the galaxy, while delivering a haiku. And remember, he never fights at full potential. He's not bothered by the sun either.
There's also Gameplay and Story Segregation we have to take into account here. I mean, if Pyron is that great, why can Felicia beat him in game?

True, However, not even Dragon Ball Characters are a match for the Dark Stalkers higher ups.
And If Belial Aensland in his prime is ever made playable, I would Kiss Arc System Works's Ass goodbye, as he was supposed to make people like Pyron and Jedah look like mere flies in comparison.
Watch SymphogearWell, DBZ works on a different scale than Darkstalkers, so that's hardly what I'd call a good comparison. Even so, I think you're vastly downplaying the abilities of the ASW group.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadI think you're all putting stock into something that has never stopped crossovers in the past.

I don't see anyone wanking about story related power levels in those games.

Well, that will obviously be a factor, like it has been in nearly every crossover (SFxT seems to be the exception so far), but I'm saying that, realistically speaking, outside of what is possible in-game, you shouldn't downplay X vs. Y in a battle based off of what we've seen from the other side.
And yeah, wanking did happen, especially between the higher-level combatants from either side. You'd also be surprised how many "Dante vs. Wolverine" or "Dante vs. Akuma" debates came up over at GameFAQs/GameSpot when MvC3 was announced (to name one specific example; Morrigan and Ammy were also frequent instigators).

"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadI also saw some "Dante vs Ghostrider" wank on a youtube video. Fans can get entertainingly anal when it comes to power level's.
Yeah, we all know Dante would win
But seriously, you should see the discussion over Super Weight on the MvC3 page. I'm dealing with some guy complaining about how I "define" super weight-placement in game-terms. It's possibly the dumbest thing I've ever argued about.
If I could ask something blunt: is Examu in the same league as ASW? Just look at these figures (to be fair, Arcana Heart 3 came out world-wide 2 years later).

This is why I don't give a shit about balancing their power levels in-universe. For all I care, My Little Pony can face against Toppa Tengan Gurren Lagann if the result is a good fighting game.
Ugh, don't remind me. In the run-up to the release of Mv C 3, I actually was stupid and masochistic enough to spend time on the Game FA Qs boards. There were. . . a *lot* of stupid fight threads.
Home of CBR Rumbles-in-Exile: rumbles.fr.yuku.comBelieve me, I know your pain. I was there. Moral of the story: logic doesn't exist at GameFAQs/GameSpot.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The Mad
I know that Capcom and SNK are still in business, but I'm getting the vibes that ASW and Examu are getting like a 'smaller scale' version of Capcom and SNK. They're good at their fighting games, and most of them have their knack for 'good emphasis on fast combos' style. While ASW is acclaiming more international fame due to starting first with Guilty Gear and helped bringing the fighting game craze with Blaz Blue, Examu is also building up its own library of fighting games (aside of Arcana Heart, there's Daemon Bride and Aquapazza...)
What do you think?
Perhaps one day before they even try crossing with Capcom, we could get an ASW vs EXAMU first...
