I too did not find the Dreamscape and the Realm of Dreams to be mutually exclusive either (the latter exists within the former, if I understood the concept correctly) though the terms are a bit confusing, maybe we should rename the Dreamscape- perhaps as The Godrealm?

As for revenants, the point of including both versions was so people could vote on which one they prefer.

Oh, and to everyone: any vote that's not a very clear "Yes" I count as a "No". That's so people will be *clear* when they vote, it isn't up to me to guess what you mean. Comments are OK but make them AFTER you say Yes or No. That was a problem in some of the early ballots, I mention it here mainly for the sake of newcomers.

Just a thought: Don't make the machine god stupid or one-dimensional. Remember that technology in Sceal is a force for freedom and equality.

Also, the Realm of Dreams could be renamed as the Phrenic Realm.

I was thinking more renaming the Dreamscape, since the Dream Realm had more to do with mortals actually dreaming while the Dreamscape is just the Planescape.

I don't think the Amenity needs to be treated as being OH SO SPECIAL SNOWFLAKE separate from everything else. Actually she should be addressed like Elena: Powerful but schizophrenic as all fuck.

The idea I had is that no one knows what true virtue is, so no one sees her except those who climb up a tall mountain seeking enlightenment from a wise guru dispensing the wisdom of the universe. Those that do never return, presumably ascending to a higher plane of existence. Supposedly, she'll climb down her mountain when people learn the true meaning of love, family and Chrismas, which some prophecies herald as a kind of Rapture like event in which the truly virtuous will be carried off to paradise and the wicked left behind. Some people are kind of afraid of what they'll find out.

Christian parallels do not work in fantasy.

Hell, religious parallels, period, are generally a    Very Bad Idea.   

In addition, learning about Good has no reason to remove you from reality. That would be the domain of the Celestial God of Ascending to Other Planes of Existence Like A Boss.

Well, it's just a myth. What only happens is that already aetherial people, the dead, fae, terrestrial gods, astral projected mortals, going over, going up the mountain, don't come back.

While we are nearing completion that just means we've gotten to the hard part. Now we have to work hard to work within our own continuity to tie up the loose ends, without leaving new loose ends in the process.

Do try to keep in mind that I've been studying psych for half my life.

I rather detest the misuse in this context, even if it's common. It's not for the sake of being pedantic, it's for the sake off, understanding and because it just annoys me.

Mostly due to the ignorance of some people, who, when I mention I have OCD (which is diagnosed) they always think of Super OCD. Which barley covers what OCD is, and is far close to OCPD which an entirely different disorder, on a different spectrum even with a sadly similar initialism.

But because of this I really dislike when terms are misused so casually.

I dislike when English is misused casually. Do I point out every time you or God spell things incorrectly? No, I don't. I hold my tongue and make the corrections on paper.

The fact that you can correct someone has nothing to do with whether or not you should correct them.

We are talking something that is a bit deeper than whether or not one should use "less" or "fewer" in a sentence, or misses a period or comma. This is something that actually effects people, reactions, expectations, it is so much more then just casual English misuse. Not some matter of pedantry or correctness of grammar and language but of knowledge, non-ignorance and respect.

This kinda of mis-classification actually promotes ignorance towards other people, Who are already misunderstood enough and have enough of a weight to to carry. I may have OCD but that is a blessing compared to what some of these people have to deal with daily, with not only having to deal with there own mental issues but with others ignorance and misunderstands. This isn't as simple as the misuse of a vocabulary word. This type of "casualness" is 10X more harmful then most spelling mistakes or typos, ectra.

Considering that the work we do here is done entirely with words and depends on the reader's interest and ability to understand what is written, I'd say that's far more relevant.

Yes, of course, someone who has spent quite some time studying mental disorders and works with people who suffer from depression, mood and anxiety disorders every day is somehow making herself more ignorant by not taking care to diagnose the precise mental issues of a fictional character and apply the correct term! HOW COULD I BE SO BLIND?
