That is... not quite what I would expect with this title. I think we might have it under another title, too.
We already tried this on Assimilation Plot. Its bad form to try the same thing from the other end. What could possibly be such a problem that a crowner was started in the first post?

First, like I said, I'd created the crowner months ago, so I figured I'd put it in. Secondly, there was a little discussion about this trope over on Assimilation Plot, but not that much. There was certainly no agreement to not do anything (except maybe merge). (And it would've been a bad thing even if we had; the subject there was Assimilation Plot, not this trope.)
I'm not against renaming exactly. I'd just like to see a problem with the name, or a better alternative. If you were to rename this trope what would you call it?
I think a rename is in order because I agree with Leaper about it being problematic to use a stock phrase as a name for a character trope.
As for possible new names, Assimilating Being is pretty bare bones, but I guess it could work. Whatever happens with this trope, I feel like it would be a good idea to differentiate it a bit more from characters with Energy Absorption powers because currently I feel like the difference is not that clear.

"irhgT nm0w tehre might b ea lotof th1nmgs i dont udarstannd, ubt oim ujst goinjg to keepfollowing this pazth i belieove iN !!!!!1 dThe problem, as I see it, is reflected in the fact that, until ten days ago when someone changed it, even the page's own Laconic thought it's a plot trope. And that would be because of the name.

Sorry I'm late to the discussion, but I have something to say about this trope. In the trope repair shop for Mega Manning https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=1300423208020009800
has been proposed to merge this trope with Cannibalism Superpower. The reason for this is that in order to repair Mega Manning we are going to split that trope depending on how the powers are gotten. Cannibalism Superpower would be merged with You Will Be Assimilated and it will become a trope about getting powers by eating, absorbing or somehow making the enemy part of you. Do I add that to the crowner, or is it enough that it was proposed and accepted in the Mega Manning repair shop?
There are no heroes left in Man.Accepted? I was just in that thread and your 'no objections' was the last post. Anyway, I think its there's a clear difference between 'eating' someone and doing what the borg do. Besides, Cannibalism Superpower is a super power while this trope is about a character/character motivation.
For instance, Using Cannibalism Superpower to eat a group of people for the knowledge they possess.
If you had read more than the last post you would have seen my proposal was accepted there, in page 6. Also I know eating is not the same as what the borg do, but the mechanism of getting powers/memories/etc. is the same: you make the enemy part of you. That's why I proposed to merge them. There would be a list of how to do that (The Virus, eating, and more). The name would be You Will Be Assimilated unless something else is proposed, and it would become a trope related to the to-be-renamed Mega Manning.
However, seeing this trope's name is going to be discarded what we can do is the following: when you finish the new page for You Will Be Assimilated then we can move Cannibalism Superpower to the current page, reedit it so it fits the description, cut Cannibalism Superpower and leave this page with the description I described above. Any problems with that?
There are no heroes left in Man.Can we call this? It looks quite decisive.
Calling the crowner after nearly 5 month open at +7 (yeas:14 nays:7) 2.00 : 1 in favor of renaming You Will Be Assimilated.
Begin the brainstorming of new names.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Assimilation Character (This one I like the most because it contrasts Assimilation Plot)
Or if we don't want to use 'assimilation' because of possible confusion with Assimilation Plot then replace it with something like 'absorb'. Or the following ideas. Scratch that, I can't think of a name for this trope that doesn't include 'assimilate' or 'absorb'.

Assimilation Driven Character perhaps?
There are no heroes left in Man.Foe Absorber wouldn't work because that's not the point of the trope. It's not just someone who absorbs. The trope is about characters whose motivation is assimilating other characters.
There are no heroes left in Man.Since there have been some suggested names and because Madrugada called the page action crowner, there is now an alternative titles crowner for this trope here. Feel free to add names as you see fit.
"irhgT nm0w tehre might b ea lotof th1nmgs i dont udarstannd, ubt oim ujst goinjg to keepfollowing this pazth i belieove iN !!!!!1 dBumping for more votes, as there are several with unanimous "likes".
Sorry to get here late, but I really believe my name is the best: Call this character "Hive-Mind Recruiter"
Or not, if I'm not as brilliant as I think!
If you have a suggestion add it to the crowner (I did it for you).
Oppression anywhere is a threat to democracy everywhere.Alright, the crowner has been going for almost a month and The Assimilator has an 8:1 ratio. Its nearest competitor is 2.5:1. Does anyone else want to call it?
New trope, quotes, and laconic set up, with content and page types. Somebody experienced double-checking that I did them right would be appreciated. Old quotes and laconic cutlisted.

I hollered for a mod to move the discussion and its archive. I don't know how to check for an old, finished YKTTW.
It has a couple hundred wicks.

Oppression anywhere is a threat to democracy everywhere.
Crown Description:
You Will Be Assimilated is a character trope, but is named after a line of dialogue, which might cause it to be mistaken for a plot trope (including in its own Laconic). Should it be renamed? Info: 183 wicks 126 inbounds.
Apart from the obvious problems of the line of dialogue title as expressed by our illustrious founder these days, is it really in our best interests to have it attached to a character trope?
Already started a crowner here long ago, but very few votes or any discussion.
