Sounds like it was the end result of escalating antagonism between them.
Enjoy the Inferno...... I need a freakin' drink.

Agreed. Choking a bitch out was definitely not the right answer, but she was acting pretty fucking psycho to him, as well.
It was a bad situation all around.
Let me be the one to say that... You know, choking someone is, like, no walk in the park. To do that, you need to use...
...some force.
"Atheism is the religion whose followers are easiest to troll"Titles like these are stupid. These things don't happen just because of a single event, there's much more to the story than "guy kills people over stupid reason". More likely that one event was the straw that broke the camel's back, or a sign of an ongoing problem that needed attention.

Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am...Like I said Merlo, it sounds like that was a bad situation all around.
... but that contradicts the sentiment of your first post.
Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am...who wants to bet the media will completely ignore the threats on his life part and portray the woman as an incorruptibly pure victim.
Of course they will. It's what the media does. Women are always completely blameless in any situation, and the men are horrible monsters regardless of extenuating circumstances.

Anyone else involuntarily smirk at the highest-rated comment?
With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars.^^ Yes, I still reel from all the compassion Casey Anthony's been getting from the public eye. And let's not forget that twelve-year-old gang rape victim who deserved it by dressing like a ho.

And better than thy stroke; why swellest thou then?Anger leads to hatred, hatred leads to the Dark Side. I wonder if the SW fan community will have an organized reaction to this.
BTW: My doctor tells me that gender issues derails are bad for a thread's health.
Share it so that people can get into this conversation, 'cause we're not the only ones who think like this.Merlo: admittedly my first comment was made before reading the article.
If he was abused, why the hell didn't he leave her or let her go back to Thailand?
Honestly, it seems like both parties are at fault here. Her for being a psycho, him for being a fool and choking her out rather than leave her.

I would point out that a collection of any kind is often worth a lot of money and sentimental value, so you don't have to be obsessed to be extremely angry at someone damaging all of it. I know there would be no words for how angry I'd be if someone damaged my book collection, for instance, even though I'm not ordinarily obsessed over it. (As in, I'm proud and happy to have it, but I don't stand around cradling my Lord of the Rings trilogy and going "My preciousssssssss...")
Angry enough to murder? No (though the fantasy might cross my mind), but there seems to have been many other extenuating circumstances as well here that tipped it over that far.

Apparently I am adorable, but my GF is my #1 Groupie. (Avatar by Dreki-K)
generally, when abuse is occuring, the abused party doesnt think of solutions like "leave" either due to terror or shame and self-projected blame. hence why so many abused women or men dont ever seek help. Psychologically, they tend to blame themselves or rationalize or dont want their friends and family to find out.

Midget: huh, yeah I've heard that before so it makes sense. I dunno, like I said this was a bad situation all around.
It definitely was. It looks like a case of an abusive, codependent relationship where neither party had the wherewithal to seek help before one of the two of them tipped the entire mess over a boiling point.
I agree with the general sentiment of this thread. Killing her was an overreaction, but it doesn't sound like they had a very nice relationship before that. Even the act that triggered this, destroying his collectibles, was a really cruel thing to do. Not "worthy of death" cruel, but she had obviously decided to hit him where it would really hurt.
So I feel kind of sorry for the guy, but he can't justify murder.

A dark day for all nerddom.
More seriously, the man has no excuse. Murder don't justify nothing if wife was crazy. If wife was crazy he shoulda divorced her or sent her to the crazy house (or send himself there, whichever works).

You know what, it's less than a week after Master Yoda ran over a man in Germany. I mean, a drunk-driver who was dressed as Yoda for Halloween.
Many thanks.

"Atheism is the religion whose followers are easiest to troll"I really wanted to make a force choke joke, but I got to the party a tad late it seems.
Wow. I'd say over-reation, but it seems like the woman was basically abusing him for a while, and that was the straw that broke the camel's back. That dosn't make it right, of course, but it's not like she knocked over a lego and he freaked out, she smashed up his stuff. It'd be like going out with a sldge hammer and attacking some guy's Ferrari.
I'm baaaaaaack
Obsessed much?
Now that's taking things too far. Man those two were dysfunctional...
