I was interested in this game, but it's been in CB for so long I just forgot about it.
Did it finally hit OB?
A few months ago.
...what is this game about? I just read the article on The Other Wiki for it, but it didn't really help that much. From what I gather, you play some kind of important community role, but it's also a tactical turn-based RPG with scrolling levels and there is something about some eggs.
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!Huh. I remember playing Dofus for a while, but never bothered actually getting a paid account. It seemed pretty fun, so I wonder how this will turn out...
All I remember from the premise of the first game is that you had to collect dragon eggs (the eponymous Dofus) for some reason...
EDIT:Wait, so they made a show for this before they even finished developing the game? Talk about skewed priorities...

With a show that awesome, who can blame them?
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntTechnically, the show and the game should have been released side by side at the same time. Then, one of these two entered Development Hell. It's as simple as that.
The goal of the game is to defeat Ogrest, but high leveled content is really lacking at the moment.
The game is about, as far as I can see, keeping the world in check. That doesn't just involve the usual "Go kill fifty bears, collect their asses, then go kill the final boss"- it involves harvesting cuttings from trees, seeds from herbs and crops, essence from animals, and so on, cutting down the trees/pulling the herbs up/harvesting the crops/killing the monsters when there's too many of them, and planting the cuttings/planting the herbs/you get the point when there's too few of them.
You keep the world in balance, represented by the Wakfu/Stasis gauge- each one fills up as you do stuff. The Wakfu gauge fills (or the Stasis gauge empties) as you harvest cuttings and plant them, while the Stasis gauge fills (or the Wakfu gauge empties) as you cut them down.
You also have to keep community goals in mind when populating/depopulating regions.
Everything is player driven. You make the coins- literally; you don't kill monsters and get the coins, you literally have to go to the mines, mine ore, and go to a mint and press the coins- you make or find the equipment, you do everything like that.
Hell, I can't even find a quest list.
There are too many toasters in my chimney!I might give this a try.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.Oh yeah, instead of quests there are Challenges issued by your governor (not an NPC, an actual player) that relate to the area.
The question is can it match up with MU Ds in the roleplaying/Gameplay area or will it fail as several other MM Os have?

Okay why do Europeans get a hilarious trailer while we get some generic trailer with music overlaid?
Also I hope the region locks aren't to stringent. The American servers don't get released til February Thanks Square-Enix

Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.Theres an international server(Remington). Have you tried going on that one?
How focused is it on group activity and are some classes/roles noticeably harder to find for those groups?
Don't really quote me on this, as I haven't played for very long myself.
It's not too focused on group combat. However, as you progress through the game, you'll find that the levels of the enemies around don't go up as much as you'd expect. Instead, they rely on being in groups- so it's usually better to be in a group yourself when you're at higher levels.
I've been told that Enripsa aren't very common around the place, as they're hard to play, but they're good in support roles, so they'll always find a place in a group.
There are too many toasters in my chimney!Extremely focused on group combat. The game designed it so that you cannot solo a group of monsters that are the same level as you are, and bosses always have to be taken on in groups of 4+
Ookaay, so I think I'll roll an eniripsa

Is the whole "Kill stuff and get stuff from it/get seeds from stuff make mroe stuff appear" only for certain jobs? I made a Iop and tried to do that tutorial only to find noone.
Too lazy to have a decent sig.You need to learn the Trapper profession first.
'm a spy. That's exactly why i wasn't able to. I got to the tutorial area with my character and the wolf guy who teaches you wasn't there!
I tried exit and enter everytime yet nothing happened. I was weirded out cause is worked just fine when I did it with my Feca.
EDIT: Also are worlds the same as servers?? Cause I can only pick one D:

Too lazy to have a decent sig.Downloaded and trying now, playing on the international server. I like the art style and diverse selection of classes. Also, turn-based? SOLD!
Are their guilds/clans or similar in this game? If so, there needs to be a Troper guild.
There are guilds, but i have no idea how to make one. know you need at least 4 or 6 players at the tavern though.
Worlds are the same as servers. You can go back to check if the wolf is there with the cannoon to Incarnaem.
somehow is impossible to me to switch servers. Any help on that?

Alright guys, if you want to try this game it is still in beta so expect a lot of bugs and changes to be made.
Other than that, discuss the game here.
