Anyone who's stupid enough as to let a promise made when they were five years old dictate their life deserves whatever's coming to them.

Agreed, it's always been one of my least favorite things about anime.

"Oh we were childhood friends until I moved away, but I was in love with you and totally understood that concept back then and we made a dumb promise to get married which I'm honoring to this very day even though you don't remember me. I haven't been involved or dated anyone else and I still love you because you haven't changed at all, no not all in these many years, not your hairstyle or anything."

If there's one thing I like about Raku is that he at least understands that the promise girl won't matter as much if his present self is in love with someone else.

Damn. Chitoge's really mature in that part (or at least selfless). If it was me, I'd have Marika'd that key and ran away before Raku could change his mind. evil grin

But still, it was kinda anti-climatic. I expected Raku to be more.. I don't know, upfront? It seemed like what was shown in the chapter was what we already read in the previous ones. Girls throwing themselves at Raku, Raku being indecisive and/or dishonest, etc. I had hoped there would be something surprising.

But they were such cute little shits that I stopped caring. I still love the manga.

People are getting really angry on Chitoge's behalf against Raku and Onodera.

Yeah, I think it's on the bias that First Girl Wins, especially when it comes to harems. If Onodera was the main character, this would've been totally normal and Chitoge would've been told to take her Tsundere ass somewhere else.

We'll just have to wait for the inevitable plot twist of 'choosing your heart' for the next chap. (Author-san, please prove me wrong.)

…Yeah, kinda disappointed. But I don't why exactly. It's not like I expected something much different…

Maybe because now that everything's explained, I don't quite get how Raku managed to remember the promise but forget the girl… Especially when he met said girl again not that long afterwards.

(also, how many times has the Exact Eavesdropping trope been used in this series, by now?)

And hey, Marika was already annoying as a little kid. tongue

Well, if the series sticks to the 'I don't care what I said in the past, how I feel now is most important' then I'll be satisfied. I don't really trust it to do that, though.

Well, that clears everything up. I still can't get a read on which one he actually wants to be with, though.

Of course there's the other aspect of the four keys that the other three keybearers are supposed to help the two lovers reunite.

[up]x4 Yeah my thoughts exactly. Like you'd think because Raku liked Onodera back then and really likes her now that their relationship should be meaningful and special enough for him to remember her as the promise girl, especially since they weren't apart for all that long, at least compared to the other girls. We all know how strong his feelings for Onodera were.

And yet the promise girl in his memories has long, light colored hair. In fact she strongly resembled Chitoge instead of Onodera, and we now know Chitoge was the only girl with long, light hair as a kid between the group of friends. Sure is interesting.

[up]Maybe the girl in Raku's memory looking more like Chitoge than Onodera has something to do with him admitting he liked Chitoge's appearance better because she was the most feminine-looking one in his harem for the long hair. It just happened Onodera matched the girly girl personality better than Chitoge.

Besides, the whole thing with the promise was Chitoge's idea, Onodera just went along with it, which might be what annoys me the most.

You mean Kairi and Namine? Namine wasn't a manifestation of Sora's subconscious desires; rather, she was actively tampering with Sora's memory.

[up]I kinda doubt that's what they were thinking.

As for me all I saw was the Keybearer part and it made me think of Kingdom Hearts. [lol]

A whole lotta crying though. Gosh I feel so bad for Chitoge, poor girl does not deserve to be hurt like this over a stupid childhood promise. Raku wasn't in this chapter at all, where the frick did he go?

I think it has less to do with the childhood promise and more to do with the fact that she knows Raku has always loved Kosaki the most and she even encouraged them to be together. Now if we could just find out why Kosaki was there in the first place then every mystery in this series would be resolved. My personal theory is that Mr. Onodera brokered the deal between the various organized crime factions.

You know, I'm not sure what it is about the series but I still find myself looking forward to it each week. I don't know, maybe because it's just fun you don't really have to put a lot of thought into (for the most part, anyway).

In a fair world the Onoderas baked the cake a hired assassin jumped out from to kill a rival gangster during his birthday.

Or they just made that rival gangster eat the cake, if Kosaki baked it.

New chapter's out. This is it, this is the moment we've all been waiting for: Claude finds out that Tsugumi is a girl. It is everything I expected of this moment.

Also you go Ruri, you got this.
